Tranmere Ratings (4 Viewers)

Murphy 7 - I thought he did well considering he shouldn't have been playing due to illness. Couldn't do much about the goals and made some spectacular saves
Christie 3 - Didn't bring much at all. Held up the attacking play and ruining a number of attacks with sloppy errors
Seabourne 6 - Probably our bets defender but was still an off day for him
Webster 5 - Nothing special
Clarke 0 - Doesn't even deserve a rating. Tiny improvement at the end. The decision to give him the armband when Baker came off was laughable. Why didn't Leon take Jordan with him?
Baker 6.5 - Decent attacking play, but didn't have any support
Fleck 5 - Hardly saw him. looked like he was helping in defence for most of the game
Daniels 5.5 - Everyone who has been bad-mouthing him, give him a break! He's a kid. I thought he did quite well yesterday. He didn't need to make the challenge to give away the penalty, it was completely unnecessary, but apart from that, decent display
Thomas -999,999,999.999 (That's a minus) - The single worst display of a Coventry City player I have ever seen. Awful passing, lack of challenges made and the ones he did where laughable. After that performance its gonna take a lot to build his confidence back up
Petrasso 8 - WOW! The only shining light in an awful display. Never stopped running. Looked extremely promising and his goal was well created. MOTM for Cov 1 million %
Moussa 4 - Tried to do too much and in the process ruined a number of promising attacks. Took the ball too far when he should have released the ball. Tried too hard I think. He needs to think with his head, not his heart

Subs:
Marshall 6 - Man this guys fast! Brought new life into the left wing when he came on. If we started him and Petrasso, Tranmere wouldn't be able to keep up
McGeouch 5 - Gave it a good go and had a good chance towards the end. Looks promising
Willis 6 - I thought the decision to bring on another defender was a little daft when we needed goals, but he played very well, 10 times better than Christie

The single worst away game I have ever been too. Our fans were as always fantastic, although I got a little downhearted when we went 3 goals down, nothing from the Tranmere end even when they were 3-0 up. Promising signs at the end of the game but we have a lot to do now. Relegation IMO is a very real possibility and I think we need to wake up and smell the coffee, cus if we keep on kidding ourselves that we're safe, it could be too late. But with a little bit of elbow grease, we should be fine. PUSB!

Murphy 7 - Nothing he could do about any of the goals and made a cracking save first half.
Christie 6 - good attacking play but their left hand side ripped us a new one
Webster + Seaborne 6 - They done fairly well IMO
Clarke 5 - Not very good but hes a good player usually very composed
Petrasso - 8.5 - Always looking to run at the opposition this is exactly the type of player coventry needs!
Fleck 6 - quality player but had to sweep up thomas's shite too often
Baker 6- isolated but had 2 good shots saved
Thomas 3 - Words cant describe his performance
Daniels - 4 Not a big fan at all dont see what pressley sees in him
Moussa 6.5 -always sharp around the box just a shame hes always isloated

Marshall 7 - like petrasso hes quick and loves to run at full backs i hope pressley rewards him with a start sunday
Mcgeough - 6 not enough time to make a real impact

Murphy 7.5 stunning save first half as well as well as stopping 1v1 in second half
Christie 3 - gave up in the second half IMO they were having a lot of joy down that flank was taken off
Clark 4 first half failed to stop a lot of the attacks and recognise that he is right footed but was struggling to clear the ball
Webster & Seabourne both 4.5 unable to effectively defend high balls into the box lead to their second goal, a shocking miss in the first half and a great save from murph
Fleck 5 one great shot over, lost possession regularly mis placed passes wasn't help by Connor 2 - should have been taken off was really struggling (like him had high hopes but was a liability yesterday)
Daniels 4 wreckless challenge for their penalty, not sure he knew what position he was playing
Moussa 6.5 at least looked lively but when in good positions had nobody to pass to as we had no regular forward looking for the ball / making runs
Baker 5.5 did well considered playing out of position, don't understand why he was subbed
QPR boy 8 struggled to begin with with the phsyicality but skill and willingness to run at them plus scored a good goal

Don't think it requires too many changes, the team shape was ineffective due to no strikers, hopefully at least 1 striker will allow us to play with some purpose and increase our confidence. Baker back to his normal position witht probably 3 to be rested clark thomas & daniels

I agree. Only minor changes needed. We need Akpom back, Blair Adams back on the left and Jordan Clarke and Connor Thomas nowhere near the starting line-up. Would quite like to see Marshall start

Murphy 6 - A couple of good saves, couldnt do much about the goals.
Christie 5 - Ok going forward but tends to forget the job he's paid for!
Seabourne 4 - Not impressed so far. Too many passes go astray. Can see why he couldnt get in the Yeovil team.
Webster 6 - Fairly solid. Has improved as the season's gone on. Still think there must be better defenders available.
Clarke 6 - Comments here seem a bit harsh. One of the few players able to read the game and thought he did ok yesterday though still not sure which his best position is! Prob not left back.
Fleck 6 - Played deeper yesterday but still stands out in the middle.
Thomas 3 - Had a very poor game - not been great since his injury.
Daniels 4 - Poor challenge for the penalty. Not a great fan but was ok early in the season (e.g Carlisle away)
Petrasso 8 - Well impressed. Took his goal well tho took a short while to get into the game.
Moussa 6 - Still played well but trys to do too much
Baker 6 - One of his better games I thought. Spent first half as striker and came close to scoring.
Marshall 7 - Very energetic and gave us fresh impetus when he came on.
McGeouch 5 - Was ok but looks a bit slow at times.
Willis 5 - Not much time to make an impact.

Overall, I thought we were 100% better than at Notts County but we need 11 players on form not just 6 or 7. We should have enough to stay up but struggling to see where the next win is coming from.

Big changes needed next weekend by the sounds of it, lets hope Pressley has the balls to make them

It's not balls he needs but players, you won't score goals with no strikers in the team. I have great sympathy for SP at the moment and if a better offer came along I wouldn't hold it against him if he leaves, unlike the way blue blooded Robins did a runner.

I agree with your assessment. Lets be honest the 2nd goal was a real sucker punch. We hadn't played that badly and should have been level at half time.

How did Jennings play? :)

According to Tranmere's assistant manager "Steve Jennings was fantastic. He's everything you want from a footballer on the field and off it. He calms things down... I call him the fire blanket because when there are little fires on the pitch he goes and dampens them down and smooths things over."For me he was man of the match.

My Ratings would be this week:

Murphy - 7 - Made some good saves in the first half in particular, couldn't have done much about the goals in truth.
Cyrus - 4 - Tracked back well enough but his distribution was poor on the overlap and struggled in the second half.
Seaborne - 6 - Out of the two CB's Danny looked more solid, passing was a little astray at times, but hes not really the passing type having seen him play for a number of years.
Webster - 3 - Simply not good enough from Andy, looks as if he struggling too much and was beaten to easily for the third goal, all round quite poor.
Clarke - 7 - Jordan was one of the best players for us on Saturday, defended really well and went forward well at times, needs to work on his free kicks though.
Fleck - 6 - Did his job in the middle, nothing spectacular.
Thomas - 4 - I don't know what has happened to Conor but he doesn't look as strong in the 50/50 challenges anymore and at the beginning of the season I knew that if he went if for a challenge 8/10 he'd come out with the ball, Saturday he came out with the ball every 2/10 which just wasn't good enough.
Daniels - 5 - Billy did okay looked nervous for the best part of the game, the challenge for the penalty wasn't great, but I haven't marked him as low as Christie and Webster simply because on that penalty decision I do believe it was soft as the player has started to go down and has pushed the ball to far away when Billy makes the challenge.
Petrasso - 8 - Simply our MOM, he caused Tranmere defenders hassle from minute 1, electric pace up against their left back and there was anticipation every time he got the ball, a well taken goal as well after rounding the keeper.
Moussa - 5 - Did alright to be fair to Franck, but went missing throughout the game at times, there was one moment in the second half in which I have marked him down for a five whichreally frustrated me, with McGeouch outside him Moussa continued to try and be a world beater, now it went for a corner in the end, but I am thinking at that stage we are 3-0 down lets try and get back in the game and keep it simple, which sometimes Franck can be accused of not doing.
Baker - 6 - Bakes did alright on Saturday considering he was our main attacking outlet, had a few good chances in the first half in which OFW kept the ball out, looked knackered in the second half could do with a rest IMO.

The Subs:

Marshall - 7 - Did really well when he came on, like Petrasso who was playing on the opposite flank his pace was something that tiring defenders just couldn't deal with and really strectched the game, great ball through to Petrasso for the consolation.
McGeouch - 6 - Did well, but in truth wasn't really given much opportunity to go forward as the ball was coming down the left to Marshall, helping Jordan Clarke well by tracking back and doing all his duties.
Willis - 6 - Looked more solid than Cyrus, didn't really see Jordan in attacking sense at RB, would love to see him start at CB against Shrewsbury instead of Webster.

In my opinion Marshall was one of the best players on the pitch when he came on, along side with Petrasso. Quite worrying when the best 2 players on the pitch are loan signings...
