exactly robbo so why embarress everybody with this charade ? Their pr is absolutey laughable.

The problem is they have 4 options available to them:

1) Purchase the Ricoh.
2) Purchase the Higgs Share.
3) Take a lower rent offer with the relevant revenues available.
4) Build their own Ground.

Problem is

1) The Council say it's not for sale despite the Club wanting to buy it.
2) They tried this but didn't the Council vetoed the deal.
3) A new rental deal has been offered but nothing about the Matchday revenues, plus the Club won't come back as tenants.
4) Plan B.

It's not the Clubs fault entirely.

Can we EVER forgive them ?

Redemption perhaps not fully forgive, I think I will be able to but there is a number of things they need to achieve before this day happens.

1, have they ever made a serious offer to buy it?
2, Didn't they pull out of the deal?
3 Couldn't afford to play there for free with out the Pie money?
4 Who knows? £25 million for a shed need to sell lots of pies no wonder we are all obese.

1) They hoped to negotiate with Ann Lucas only for Ann Lucas to then offer a rental deal.
2) According to one side, Labo and Fisher have always said that a deal was agreed the Council have never denied this.
3) They might be able to but why should the Club not be entitled to the revenues it generates? A rental deal is all but a nonstarter as all trust has now gone between the two parties.
4) It's obvious they'd rather use that money to purchase the Ricoh but then if options 1, 2 and 3 are closed off then what option do they have?

Option 4 leave our Club to some one who cares the only one to save our club. IMO

We could argue the pros and cons and who's right and who's wrong but to be fair we will never know if ether side were ever serious with offers made etc.

That's easier said than done I can't see a que of wealthy local businessmen waiting in the wings to purchase the Club.

sw88 - will delfounso definitely be available? I thought they rated him at Villa as one for the future? They did a year or two back anyway.

I don't think we have a chance of signing Akpom permanently...mate of of mine supports Arsenal and says he's shit hot and they want to hold on to him. Shame about Petrasso cause he looks really good.

What do you guys think of McGeoch so far? Feel like we haven't really seen that much of him?

I think he's out of contract and judging by the limited chances he's had at villa, and the lack of successes he's had on loan (for a striker his goals to games ratio isn't that good I don't think), I'd be surprised if AV wanted to keep him longer. If they do, he'll be their version of Shaun Jeffers and us I think :)

Right. Let's just pretend, for argument sake, that they will all stay and we will have a squad big enough to cover injuries next season.

Well no...that's what the purpose of the thread was to discuss. Just thought maybe rather than just stopping absolutely all football related discussion because there's a chance there won't be a club, we could assume that it would still exist? Sorry if that wasn't the discussion people wanted to have. Theres probably a few "SISU/ACL bashing/the club is doomed" threads dotted around if you look really hard.

Hopefully they don't want him and he thinks he can have a chance at fulfilling his potential here! He seems like a down to earth kind of guy, and he was the first to admit that his career has stalled. The rest of the lads (eg Akpom) commented on how intense Pressley's training schedule is and how he has a good footballing philosophy..maybe it might not be that unattractive a place to develop for some hot prospects. We can hope!

sw88 I hope there is some way we can hold on to Petrasso however unlikely that is. Maybe even a season long loan next year

A deal was agreed but they never finalised it. If CCC had veto'd it SISU would certainly have let us know about it. We would have seen it on the offal just like when they kept to their legal obligations yesterday.

No3 The Club did have those revenues but chose to sell them. Therefore unless they buy them back they have
no rights to them.
