Also, who was their number 15? He was man of the match today IMO

It makes no sense it's not a pop at anyone but Marshall has looked good in the games he featured, McGeouch is tipped to be a really good player, so it makes no sense why you play a left back instead of those two in there accustomed position.

All we did today annoyingly was pumped the ball long at every chance, where is the patience and passing that we saw at the beginning of the season, I kept thinking through out that game "Why are we resorting to this?" Akpom and Wilson weren't winning the battles in the air.

I didn't go Robbo so cant comment with authority, but the playing surface wasn't good was it? - so maybe pitch related hoof-ball?

The pitch was really dry and the ball was bouncing about all over the place. Would have made more sense to keep it on the ground I reckon, the pitch didn't look too bad

Left midfield is definitely not his position. He was a passenger. We looked a million times better when moussa came on, shame he didn't start.

Has Adams been injured?

Thought fleck had a decent game too, it's vital we keep hold of him

Adams missed one game with flu a couple of weeks ago, then for the last few weeks he has been on the bench with Clarke preferred at LB and then he came into the team today at LM with Clarke still preferred at LB

It can be blamed, the other team might play long ball anyway. So the pitch could suit them.

it's a league one pitch at the end of winter and our "home" games are at a league 2 pitch shared with another team, we should be ready and prepared to play on a bad pitch, we knew from the outset we were going to have to do it alot this season..

But we should be able to adapt to conditions, it's all well and good trying to play in a way which the pitches won't allow us to :(

League one side getting conference gates and resuts

How are we actually getting "conference results" - Luton's results? What dies that actually mean?

I wasn't specifically talking about us. Just saying that sometimes a pitch can be blamed.

Its nothing to do with the pitch - we have two centre halves that cant play. Could do with the two up front holding it up a bit instead of flicking it around as if its a five a side training session.

But I thought Football was about playing to your strengths and we played into Colchester's strength's.

Every pitch isn't going to be great so we need to stop using that chestnut as an excuse.

I wasn't talking about us. Like I said in my post you quoted. Read it again.
I've no idea what the pitch was like today as I wasn't there.

We are being caught out before it didn't matter that they scored twice we would score three.

Our defence has been awful all season, our problem is now that we are not scoring enough 2 soft goals again today. they just walked through with no one even bothering to tackle.

sorry mate wasnt criticizing you but it doesnt matter about the pitch if youve two centre halfs devoid of any ability to pass the ball hence we started to hoof it

The centre halves are poor. I am sure the team did better with Clarke at centre back.

I was hoping we would win today.
Defensive frailties raise their head again.

Someone posted we need to be more aggressive and concentrate more...I agree with that.

I can see why SP gave Adams a go LM, however it seems from what people have said it didn't work.

Need a few more wins yet.

Really poor performance by most players on the pitch today..Callum should of had a hat-trick easily...

Webster was definitely to blame for the first goal...didn't realise the ball was still in and then jogged back towards the player that was sprinting through and slotted the ball right through Murphy's legs

Also don't see why people are slating Blair, considering LM isn't his natural position he did quite well...

Has anyone slated him ,admit I hav'nt read the whole thread but the bit i have Is querying why Pressley is playing him there .

Not a dig because it isn't his natural position, but I can't remember him doing anything positive. The game changed when moussa came on. Shame because I really rate Adams, but he did nothing apart from pass it back into defense when he got the ball.

I think Adams was only there because Moose was touch and go fitness wise and of course Baker out entirely.

Due to defensive frailties I would be tempted to go 3-5-2 next game?

Murphy
Christie RWB
Adams LWB
Clarke CB
Willis CB
Seabournes CB
Thomas DCM
Fleck DCM
Moose ACM
Wilson CF
Delfounsno CF

Subs: Burge, Willis, Webster, Baker, Akpom, Petraso, Marshall

This would be interesting. Kind of just give up on defending and score score score. I remember a Real Madrid manager years ago saying something like we don't need to defend, we just need to score more than them.

1st half was absolutely woeful. Webster was truly awful yesterday. Seabourne wasn't much better. I would give Seabourne and Willis a chance together in the middle. Willis could be a decent player in the future I think.

2nd half was a lot better but still wasn't good enough. Akpom and Wilson linked together fairly well a couple of times but unfortunately nothing ever came off. Give them a couple of games together it may prove to be another deadly strike force.
