That's absurd. I am interested in CCFC who happen to be playing at Northampton. I am not interested per se in a stadium.

That is an unbelievable statement to make.

Apart from matchday fees etc.

It is amazing how many people suddenly support the women when they play at the same time as the blokes, probably the same amount who bother to support the blokes when there is a sniff off Wembley :(

On the other hand, I hope they do well and maybe they will get some fans from it who will go and watch them all of the time.

People are free to make their own choice. Comparing people that want to support local football in Coventry whilst CCFC play in Northampton to those that turn up when there is "a sniff of wembley" (has there been 1 in the last 20 years??) is absurd.

Do certain folk realise how bitter and twisted they have become .........

asking who gets the pie money for a ladies football match just because it is at the Ricoh?! hahahahahahahaha it is beyond a joke these days!

Yet again Grendel brings up the pie money when WE ALL know that it has nothing to do with that. Bless him.

The pie money statement was clearly an ironic one.

In what way is it unbelievable?

Well explain to me if I have misunderstood, but you are basically saying you dont care where CCFC plays .......... you have a bigger connection with the 11 players on the pitch rather than the location and history behind the club?

No I am clearly not saying that.

I agree, I hope people have a great time and that the ladies win and pick up some new fans. It is just a shame that most people only seem to be fussed when they play at the time as CCFC. :)

I honestly don't think it is that. It isn't the Ladies fault that CCFC are playing most home games on a Sunday is it? I think you would get the same numbers going to the match whether CCFC were playing at sixfields or not. I wont be going because I have a weekend spare with the mrs and daughter. I would like to go, and if I were to attend it wouldn't be based on CCFC being at sixfields at the same time or not.

I think people are missing the point that the Ladies are promoting this match because they are at the Ricoh for it. Not as competition. It is obviously better to watch the Ladies at a nice new comfortable stadium rather than going to watch them at Bedworth. Same I imagine if Sphinx were to do the same.

It has never been suggested as competition. Only as an alternative.

No but surely if they have played on a Sunday for years then it has been an even better for city fans to support them as well as the blokes, not just when they play at the same time. :)

exactly.

right now they will get ACL fans attend, but if they do it in a different timeslot they can get CCFC fans to come too.

or have ricoh chiefs always been vindictive ? <------- question not statement MMM :)

And why is it that the men's side are playing on the same day as the ladies always do?

I don't understand why some have to make such a fuss about a club representing Coventry actually playing a game in Coventry. There is now a ground available in Coventry for them to use. Why shouldn't they? Or is it just another reason to have a go at CCC and ACL as they won't let SISU get their own way to make money for their investors?

At least the Ricoh would still be available for our club if SISU did the right thing and negotiated instead of saying what they want and going no further. It isn't as though it is a club that is one of our rivals. It is a club that should complement our own. They represent our city after all.

Can not go to game as working over weekend more would support if I could. Happy to still buy a ticket or a donation to show support for any team playing at the Ricoh

Not really, because bar the odd few nobody would give a shit about the women's team if they weren't playing at the same time as CCFC ;) Nothing against the women's team at all.

But this is the first time that I have known for our club to be in this situation. It is the same for everyone else. A lot of the day at a football match has nothing to do with football. A football game is just a reason to get together, meet up with people, have a drink together and then watch a game. It is something many of us have missed out on this season. I could easily go to Northampton if I wanted to. But many of us can't for various reasons. I suppose this is the next best thing for some.

Supporting men on Saturday and women on Sunday is a lot to ask don't you think?

I will repeat that is is an ALTERNATIVE. Why is it not ok for people to want to watch football in Coventry?

No I know and I agree, people can do what they like and I hope they have fun. :)

At the same time? Is this the ladies sides fault?

So it doesn't matter who you are watching as it isn't to do with the football it is just about going on the piss?

Going out on the piss? What happened about the bit I put before that? I could do that where I lived if that was all I wanted to do.

It gives me a reason to travel over four hours each way.....and that is with clear roads.......to go to Coventry for the weekend. Meet up with old mates. Go for a drink. Enjoy a game hopefully. Have more beer.

We all have our own reasons. Just like some of us have our reasons for going to Northampton. Yet those that are the most vocal against questioning why people still go to Northampton are the most vocal against anyone mentioning or going to watch CCFC ladies.

Good luck to the ladies I hope they do well, I don't personally understand the point of singing "Back to the Ricoh, We want to go home" at a Ladies match, you're not at the game to protest and being that the ladies game has nothing to do with the situation of CCFC it's pointless.

Each to their own I guess.

Of course its a protest. Stupid for anybody to suggest otherwise. Hence the marketing of the game that takes place when the team we really support are playing in a soon to be non-league ground 35 miles away.

Well ashbyjan was on here a couple of weeks ago suggesting that the advertising of the game wasn't for the purpose of a protest, but more to promote the Ladies Football Team, so which is it?

Yes I know KCIC have organised the protest before anyone mentions it, however it's obvious that KCIC doesn't have the advertising leverage that the Trust has.
