6th place has lost 42% of their games this season !

staying in cov would have meant there would have been a very good chance that for the 1st time in my life, we would have seen a top 6 finish in the league

Like last year League 1 is of an awful standard, I would say the only teams who could compete in the league above are Wolves and Brentford. We would be comfortably sitting in the play offs if we hadn't had the 10 points deducted, as we wouldn't have bottled recent games against teams in the bottom half

I like to think it is a "competitive" league. The top five teams are consistent, Wolves aren't running roughshed with a 20 pt lead, the bottom six seem to always be a 3 pts swing from dead-bottom to safety. And, in some ways, it's pleasing (masochism?) to suffer a bit with my City family because we will all grow stronger together.

We find ourselves extending our vacation in the third tier, not the end of the world for me. While ofcourse I still look at CCFC with the retrospectoscope and think we are a "big club," I do have to remind myself that we hadn't had that much success in decades.

We have a history of struggling against teams in the bottom half of the table and raising our game against those in the top half. There is no reason to believe we wouldn't have dropped points against those sides.

For example last season we were 3rd in the league vs the top half of the table (1.5 points per game) and 19th vs the bottom half (1.32 points per game).

Looks as though 6th place is going to be a couple of points lower this season but but top 5 higher than normal, 5th place preston are on course for 86 points which would have won the league by 2 points last season.

Rather than the league being poorer, perhaps the top 5 are much better than last seasons top 5?

I just hate those leagues that have the one or two behemoths and everyone else duking it out for scraps and low attendances

Look at the Premiership results today, a couple of teams have pulled out of the relegation zone but a lot still there, including Villa.

Fulham will go, not sure who else.

That's exactly what the SPL is when Rangers and Celtic are both in it. Agree wholeheartedly
