Higgs vs CCFC Court Row (18 Viewers)

SISU's expertise is in the court room, I think from what I've read the £29k & £290k counter-claim are a smokescreen to flush out into the public domain information that will help their case in the JR in a few months. Not sure how this will help them but although I despise them for moving the club to Northants I expect that they have a tactic and will achieve their objectives - their tactics and objectives will become clearer over the next few months.

Really think people are giving them too much credit here. Like those that thought Jade Goody was just playing dumb for TV.

I think they really are that desperate and they really aren't that good in court.

Just a feeling though. I'm yet to be able to point to a single brilliant thing they've done (either for good or bad).

So tying balloons to the car was relevant?

Ask the Sisu QC, it was his argument...

As an aside: there really are more options that West is a liar or the other guy (forget his name) is a liar. It could be a miscommunication about expectations, it could be Sisu lying about not hearing anything (they do have form after all, remember the FL missing offer from ACL).

I'm not sure it's the smoking gun you guys are looking for here. But I await further evidence with bated breath.

They will throw litigation at any issue, partly to support their brand image. Less 'a cunning plan' more a scatter gun approach. I think they will cause mischief but they wont win a legal case. We'll see.

I know you're joking, but that really proves my point.

They were laughed out of town with that, and continue to be. I've got GCSE IT classes that could produce a better proposal in a shorter time.

...and a 'council being a council' push everything though 'Legal' before making key financial decisions, which is why Sisu have little chance of success....

It's not like councils, and Coventry City Council in particular, haven't lost court cases or spent an awful lot of money on them, or even gone to the lengths of placing an injunction so that they couldn't be named before.

Councils gonna council.

Not sure a broad sweeping statement is any more use that me ranting about neoliberalism when talking about Sisu though (which I do with much enjoyment BTW).

If that was the case then no Council anywhere in the country would ever have made any legal boo boos.

Oh don't worry I'm sure it was a miscommunication a misunderstanding.

As for sisu knowing anyway well in sure that's documented as apparantly the council document everything.

Yeah, but as part of ACL, dealing with a 'difficult' hedgefund-- pretty much everything would go through Legal. Reduces risk a lot, but we'll see.

Court hears mkh is highly personally critical of Sisu & Joy. She accuses JS of threats and bullying to gain commercial advantage.

Sisu QC seeks to question how informed she is to come to such conclusions and says Sisu invested £50m in club

Does that mean it has cost them another £5M this season so far as the last accounts showed ~£45M losses?

er, ok, not a big fan of the suggested "Joy status" outside the ricoh either ? ;)

Yeah not sure about that argument, as I imagine Sisu have just as much "Legals" to push things through.

However, considering it's a point of local government law that Sisu are pursuing with the JR, you've got to expect the council legals had more expertise.

Again, I'll ask, what's the relevance of a so called plot to remove Sisu legally?

(edit: last bit not at you Torch, just want to know generally)

I don't know what it was, or even if it's relevant. You seem to think it's the smoking gun.

In my experience they do document everything in meetings. I had a great time looking up the meeting minutes from years ago to find out what my academy sponsor had promised (and was failing to deliver).

Sisu haven't invested one penny, have they?
They are investing other peoples money - not their own.

I was only asking but I guess is like the ccc being in the press every now and again for fucking things up ;)

I was being sarcy considering Labovitch's splatter gun approach to accusations.

I honestly don't follow the local press enough to know what they've fucked up, sorry.

Baby P?

Hardly a fuck up to be fair. More like chronic underfunding if you know anything about Social Care in Coventry.

Edit: sorry, totally OT now.

So: how about that legalese?

I don't see how to be honest, a spur of the moment joke that was a stupid stunt but irrelevant in the bigger picture.

I would say that SISU's barrister is surely scraping the barrel if he thinks this should have any sway in the outcome.

How about this for a strategy, this case is a smokescreen but the legal team SISU have engaged seems OTT, are they hoping that by revealing factsa/ embarrassing Chris West etc..., that they might settle out of court pre JR just guessing but it seems a lot of effort over £29k

I think that was a bit of banter, even tim Fisher found it funny! Those pair are like bant and dec!

Agreed - though didn't I hear he found it so funny we was going to let his dogs off?

Yes, again - if this is part of their case it must be fairly flimsy. The judge must be rolling his eyes.
