my one and only bet of the year. I always go by the name so if there's a horse with 'apologist', 'selfish' or 'car crash' in the name then I'll go for that.

I wonder how many horses will be needlessly slaughtered in this years spectacle? Should be banned or the very least the fences removed

Yes that's called flat racing....how many pigeons are needlessly killed while pigeon racing...for gods sake next thing you will want to ban cock fighting

How many jockeys are needlessly killed every year? Would only take one for things to drastically change

Personally id think it quite poetic justice if one of the jockeys comes off and is trampled to death. If that's what it takes to stop this outrage it will definately be worth it.

In Spain, they murder bulls with spears. We live in a mad world, but there has to be a line! Horse racing is ok.......most of the meat that you eat comes from poorly treated animals. So time to re-evaluate your life if you cannot find a divide.

A more entertaining spectacle, for purposes of gambling, would be having very tiny pony jockeys riding atop very fat men around a track.

None of the horses would be alive at all if it wasn't for racing, they live like kings. You ought to watch Sire de Grugy win the Champion Chase at Cheltenham earlier in the year then reconsider.

Live like kings until to old to race then slaughtered for dog food etc, yeah a great life :thinking about::facepalm:

Horse racing stables are visited by animal welfare organisations to ensure the horses are well looked after all the time, if you want to complain about animal cruelty aim your bile at those that leave horses neglected in a field. Nobody in horse racing sends a horse out to race hoping it will fall and die, this is why it is not cruel. Dog fighting, bull fighting, where the best that can be hoped for is a quick end, these are cruel sports involving animals.

Feeding there dogs of course, it's quite nice under my rock of ignorance you should give it a try.
