Did sisu save ACL? (13 Viewers)

Yes they told us so when have they every not been transparent before?

Is it that you can't read or don't want to read?

It's interesting that people are asking to hear the council side of things.

All we have heard for the last 2 years via the PR company is the council side of things and SISU's story really hasn't changed that much

I think there is more to come if it gets to the JR and the council will be shown in even more of a bad light

It's Chris west rather than the council and as has been said there are toe sides to what happened.

I'm far more interested in questioning the club about the current finances and playing next season in Coventry than I am about whether the council played the business game better than sisu

Remember js has no interest in football and is only interested in purchasing the Ricoh arena complex

Do you think CCFC don't employ a PR company? Or Sisu? Really? Even Paul Appleton had a PR firm.

The thing that most fans have an issue with is the fact that we play in Northampton, that's hardly PR spin is it? Come on, use your head.

Go over to the CET site and have a look at how many on there have seen anti-Sisu comments mass downvoted (a sure sign of astroturfing) or how many things get "leaked" that try to make the council or the Trust look bad. Or of course, the fact that a Telegraph journalist was disciplined for being too matey with Fisher and co (allegedly).

Considering I've seen people seriously argue that Joy Seppala has no involvement in running the club, I think it's fair to ask for accuracy on both sides.

SISU's story has stayed the same for 2 years.

Except we now know that despite been hands on with all decisions now and in contact daily. Joy knew nothing about the rent strike.
We know that Joy offered 2 million to a charity for something of no value. Because they are a charity.

Their story has changed and i now think Joy is great

I would prefer to listen to both sides and not only one side where a lot of what they have told us in the past is suspect at least.

Nothing wrong with that as an approach, have a like ;)

There does seem to be a lot of justifying of positions going around however when really... the questions need to be asked.

The same as the Trust's questions to SISU about accounts are perfectly fair, open, and give a chance for SISU to reassure if thy choose to take it, I'd kind of like similar questions asked about some of the correspondence.

As opposed to answering it and justifying it autmatically because of who said it.

Let's not forget that it's all about the rent.

Trust Q&A said:
7: Is the rent at £400k in League 1 acceptable ?

ACL: Yes

CCFC: Yes

Seems reasonable.

What questions would you put to the council?

One big question. What went wrong with the agreed deal for SISU to go into partnership with CCC over the running of the Ricoh?

To be honest I would want a management company based in my town to run it rather than some mysterious offshore company that has proven to be incompetent.

The fact that it is a council as well gives me a feeling of security and I am willing to put up with its inefficiencies in the hope that any future profits will go into the public purse.

We all would want this but they're not exactly forming a queue to take us over.....?

I find it very hard to believe that CCC used underhand tactics to stop this. If anything had happened that was illegal there would have been litigation by now. All we have is a JR on how it was funded. So do SISU see themselves as being at fault at least partially or didn't CCC do anything wrong? Were SISU holding on to a deal that wasn't happening waiting for ACL to become distressed but lost out on when the loan was restructured?

This is why we need answers.

From what i believe ACL and the council will be invited. Whether they turn up or not is up to them

Why would they invite and why would we need or even want the council/ACL at a forum discussing the financial state and recent accounts of our club? If we need something explained then OSB58 understands all this financial stuff.

Give me a while, and I'll draw some up ;-)

My professional interest is undoubtedly on this 'major media assault' business, and the desire to either big up or go after the Yorkshire Bank, depending on which way they swung. This all goes beyond the offers through media etc. which have been made elsewhere, and moves into the dark arts.

I'd also like some clarification on the hiding of actions from SISU / the club, which does seem rather dubious to me.

That said, these questions are probaby asked after the Judicial Review (regardless of who 'wins' that - incidentally, worth pointing out whoever the victor of that, be it CCC or SISU, should still have questions to answer - victory doesn't exonerate them entirely) when a bigger picture will become available.

Until then, open minds.

Well, and after then, too. A SISU 'win' say, doesn't automatically make them innocent of everything any more than a CCC 'win' doesn't mean certain actions may be within the bounds of what is acceptable when it comes to the rules and regulations, but...

OSB58 has been missing in action since Thursday night i think.

It's a conspiracy I tells ya a conspiracy - Oh hells bells there's a tear in my tin foil hat. Maybe he's working?

Seriously though anyone who can actually explain things for us non financial types without just saying 'all normal/standard business practice (when they were one of the ones who signed off on the accounts) - which explains nothing - would do if OSB58 is busy.

I know. You and Astute have been in overdrive since the court documents were released.

Hilarious how easy it is for the spin to work.

tbf to Astute, the posts I've read recently (and there have been too many to do owt but skim!) he's actually been reigning in a little, and looking at other angles while considering council culpability as a possibility, so maybe a little harsh on him in this instance ;)

Maybe initially. Reverted to type now by the looks of it.

I thought I'd hardly been here. In fact until today and my initial post in the thread I've avoided it because I can't be arsed with the fight.

Want to address the point or just throw insults around?

Do you believe Sisu/CCFC have not had any PR in the last 2 years?

What exactly do you think CCC have been proven to do wrong?

And what is that? Because I am only looking at it with an open mind and not calling CCC guilty because I have only heard one side of the story?

I believe in innocent until proved guilty. So parts of emails make CCC look bad. Not the whole emails or all of them. They were not there to defend themselves. Yes the evidence has made me question them more. But the evidence has come from a side who loves spin. It evens out so I can't make my mind up for sure. So neither side is guilty in my mind on this matter yet.

This is going to be the "Why do we need the freehold" question all over again isn't it?

Guaranteed to make Grendel/Torch/etc never return to a thread.

TBF - I think this is about the busiest season for auditors.

And most of them employed by SISU if the court case the other day is anything to go by.

I just learned something new today.
I always thought lawyers and auditors were completely different animals doing different stuff and that.

Well in fairness, Mark Labovitch, Tim Fisher and Joy Seppala seem to have different song sheets when it suits them. Joy one minute is "hands on" and next on a different continent!

Hopefully she will be in UK court tera firma for the JR and put a face behind this charade.

8 lawyers/QC's instead of 1 or two. Will need auditors to check the finances now. And why bother with 1 or 2 :D

There will be plenty of auditors.

YB will bring Deloitte.
CCC will bring PriceWaterhouse
Sisu will bring BDO.

It's almost guaranteed to be the most boring court session in history.
