You're onto me I'm a double agent employed by Nick just to keep traffic up.

On a serious point: this is why I find the vitriol spat at me so hilarious. I used to have quite serious arguments with people during the rent strike about how Sisu are just trying to get the best deal for the club, I slagged off Lucas over King with the best of them, yet apparently I'm biased and can never change my mind.

Well, myself and NW have had pretty much the same thrown at us, but from opposite ends!

Frankly I wouldn't go in now. Everyone I know is looking at their escape route since Gove came in and undid all the progress of the last 20 years. Maths is the most frustrating subject to teach as well. I had a look at Law as a second (well fourth) career but to be honest it doesn't seem that good once you get there either, I think I've been watching too many courtroom dramas.

Too late for me now. Retiring in 14 years 6 days. My two youngest will be 18 and 19 then. My plan is to buy a massive motor home and follow our club everywhere home and away. Spend the summer months touring Europe. Wife don't know about the football tour yet though. At least all my elder kids but one did well at maths. Couldn't afford to do what I wanted until I was happy with the job I now do.

Having changed career about as often as City change managers, I can safely say the grass isn't always greener, anyway!

Been working for the same company since the 90's. Got my training through them. Planning on being with them until I retire. Have moved from where I worked for them to start with though. And where I moved from in Lincolnshire shut last year. Good job we moved through loving Cumbria and the lakes.

Fun times eh? ;)

Always mused on the irony that a so-called SISU plant has never once said SISU IN... more SISU OUT, and make sure Elliott and Hoffman stay OUT too!

We have been told to go as the atmosphere is great though :D

Fortunately, I can distance myself from that type of perspective too ;)

I really didn't get the impression people were 'up' for the game beforehand though, if that makes sense? It was all a bit muted, it's a stoic let's just deal with it, as opposed to genuine excitement, anticipation, the buzz you'd get even crossing Gosford Green to Highfield Road.

I would bet a fiver there are more ACL / CCC plants on here than SISU. ;)

The likes of RFC would be my first guess!

Maybe I ought to stick the advert up here. SISU? ACL? If either of you fancy a bit of planting and can pay well, let me know ;)

It was a joke...

But also a joke with a serious point behind it. For all the shit RFC gets, (s)he's hardly likely to be in the SISU employ, are they? If ever an approach is going to rile people against SISU, that's the one!

What! Just waiting for Polonius to make his entrance, "neither a borrower or a lender be!"

while you'd think you'd be absolutely right, sisu have obviously felt first Tim Fisher and then Mark Labovich's PR was a good idea. So it doesn't seem to me like they have any sort of handle on how to make friends and influence people.

It's a very different approach though. Their approach is a confrontational approach designed to create a reaction, and is negative against some action of somebody or something else. It's designed to either introduce doubt or make people think, the negative reaction of some is the fallout of that design.

As opposed to the unrelenting positivity of RFC which, if they ain't a troll, they get my grudging admiration in being able to see the good in just about *everything*!

But it's just so OTT it becomes parody. If there were more doing similar it'd be easier to accept, but there's nobody, but *nobody* else who seems quite so ecstatic about everything!

I don't belive he is a sisu plant either, I just don't think the fact his posts are so ott that he annoys people means that he couldn't be.

While I agree with you that at times Fisher and Laboviches job has been to cause trouble and divide people and at that they have been successful, I also think previously their job was to provide positive pr to try and keep fans happy (or at least not militantly unhappy) for as long as possible and at that they have been very poor.

Apart from Brian LOL!

I would love it if he was just Tim Fisher on a wind up.

I think Brian pre-dates Fisher, but not sure.

To be honest, the ones that make me genuinely suspicious are the posters that drop in with some "inside info" (like the guy with Labovitch's email the other day). The community is far too small for someone who posts regularly to genuinely be a plant. The likes of LS, NW and MMM have all been around for ages.

More likely would be block upvoting or downvoting on Telegraph stories (has been reported) or exerting pressure higher up the media food chain (Les Reid, David Conn, etc). With all due respect to you Nick, I'm not sure SBT has the pull worth spending money on distorting it.

You might be mistaken ;) , even though I totally agree as this place houses a small % of city fans and yep, you just need to look out for people who just drop in and post something and then do one.

Just another note: there is a (subtle) difference between someone who posts who is on their side and someone who has been specifically employed to influence social media. I'd expect simply because of the overlap between CCFC fans and CCC employees/people who know them that there are far more posters "naturally sympathetic" to the council than to Sisu. This doesn't mean the council have done anything untoward, just that there is more sympathy to them in the community.

Now if someone were to prove that someone has been paid by one side or another, then that's an issue worth looking into.

Indeed true, and some of the ways you'd do that aren't necessarily the obvious, just rocking up with a leak or a pro-argument on one side or the other.

Frankly, that's entirely how you wouldn't do it, as the obvious ends up with a rather fraught panic and paranoia!

A bit of wilful 'misunderstanding' would be the way I'd do it, until mantras got repeated as truth.

What about employees / directors?

That is scientific Nick. Perhaps they think most of the stuff on here is tiresome bollocks...to quote my wife CCFC fan all her life, season ticket holder pre Sixfields, wage check paid by CCC.

That's a funny one isn't it?

I mean the traditional meaning of astroturfing has been to create a fake grass roots campaign, which suggests a movement rather than one or two people. Have a look into the Reddit Xbox One thing or some of the other famous ones.

I suppose the litmus test is: is this your genuine opinion?

Employee is a funny thing as well, I commented on and block voted on a Telegraph story about my employer, completely off my own back simply because I don't agree with the comments or the jist of the story. Am I a plant? Even though no-one in the organisation knew of my actions?

I'm a council employee after all (teacher) does that count?

Directors I'd say I expect if they are a major player in the saga (like PWKH) for them to come out and state it.

You're going to tell me that Grendel is Ann Lucas or something now aren't you?

Nick

No, he is her toyboy (I think)....

Of course people may work as a bin man / teacher or something else within the council, I didn't mean them though as they would have no say at all.

In the past, there have been a few cheeky things here and there which of course I can't reveal. We know that people are reading here though as they talk about it.

Because being only 99.9% it's a bit dangerous, there is always that 0.1% to bite me!

Ah right, so it's more a "I've noticed something funny as admin" rather than "I caught him red handed and he admitted it". Fair enough.

I creeps me out when you hear that someone (Nikki Sinclair, Clive Eakin, whoever) reads SBT but they don't post. I feel like I'm in a zoo or something.

COME SAY HI FAMOUS PEOPLE! WE'RE HARMLESS!

That would be a time to :claping hands:

It's a shame our privacy laws don't allow Nick to say though... although I have no burning desire to reveal myself even though no bugger knows me and I'm an irrelevance, just because, well... the whole point of message boards is a certain 'privacy' (unless you're bignoj posting his address up on GMK if somebody wanted a fight :D).

So I wouldn't be over-comfortable if Nick were to unmask anyone, unless it was some blatant subterfuge... even if he could!

Even stranger when you walk past Tim Fisher etc and you know they read a site you made, but they have no idea who you are! ;)

Exactly, it isn't really my place to say even if I wanted to without me being landed in a load of shite.

How much evidence is there to say who somebody is?
