It seems most people have no appetite to do anything by reading the threads with any protest ideas.

Looks like sisu have won then...

Starving Sisu of funds has not worked, anybody who has followed this ongoing debacle knows that protests fall on the deafest of ears and with the best will in the world the fans are disunited anyway and accept the status quo, albeit reluctantly, and no longer are looking at the FL, FA or any acronym to come to our rescue.

Looks like Sisu have won you said........never, but we have certainly lost.

Ideally we should be packing the hill.

Why choose a game that will already have the highest attendance of the season? It could be put down to it being Wolverhampton playing. Would be up for a different game.

I don't believe there should be any protest at Sixfields, the place should be snubbed altogether in my opinion. Last game of the season at Sheffield United would be the best place if any.

And we have the backing of some of there fans I,m sure they would join in United is the only way to fight this battle, the more we get on side the sooner they would have to look at the situation and change some of the rules within the game.
Until then unless one side has a change of heart we are fooked.

Doubt I will be able to go with work busy atm anyway, but I would be more than happy to turn up at the hill. No further though for me.

This is actually not a bad idea. I haven't been to Sixfields and I don't intend to, but packing it out for the final game, with constant SISU protests would not only send a clear message to SISU, but also show that we support what Elvis and the gang have been up to this season.

The problem lies in that there are too many people (rightly or wrongly) who wouldn't turn up and it'd look far less impressive than it could be. Difficult to convince thousands of people to give up what they believe in at such short notice.

I love the pack out hill/Sixfields idea, but I think with the recent confusion about the Council, the JR on the horizon, the normal CCFC apathy and the lack of progress from other protests, getting enough people would be impossible.

I'd be up for it, but I feel that more most it's a case of wait and see where we are after June.

Sixfields is a bad idea. Firstly you will not mobilise thousands and thousands to drive over there so as a protest it will fall flat.
The idea of the Ricoh is two fold.
1. You will be able to get thousands and thousands agree to attend for a mere 90 minutes out of their day.
2. It opens up and balances the argument fans have for who they blame the most - is it SISU or ACL/Council or both?
Protesting at the Ricoh where our club should be playing isn't taking any one side but clearly demonstrates we want our club back there.

If you packed sixfields out for one game SISU would find a way to spin it as a positive and frankly the idea is never to give them one penny more surely?

As for a screen inside the Ricoh that would require ACL's approval and the clubs permission and as I've said we are not giving either side any help here. It must be a demonstration that captivates all fans whichever side of the divide you are on. A pure SISU protest has it's detractors. Many also feel aggrieved by the Council/ACL actions too. That is the whole point...make both sides realise what has happened and what the feelings are.

I can see it now "10,000 fans attend Ricoh but their team was in Northampton!" on the news. "police were called to calm the crowds, traffic was brought to a standstill" etc etc.

35 miles away with a few hundred making it, will not have any effect.

Filling sixfields won't make any difference imo. Fisher and co will be even smugger about the extra revenue you they would earn.

I don't get some people, "you won't get that many there" "sisu will spin it" "its pointless" how do we know until we try?
Didn't we take 4000 to notts county, 5000 to arsenal 3500 to wolves and the same to port vale also 7000 to mk dons. We can do it but needs organization, like the march where 8000 turned up with just a couple of days notice. We could cause chaos from cov station all the way to six fields and I don't mean violently. Let's do this. 1st half just support Elvis and the boys non stop and 2nd half, make it nasty without violence. UNITED for one day.

Again, it is the whole "lets get more than at the game" stuff. It doesn't show any unity at all. Nobody is saying everybody should go into Sixfields if they don't want to.

If there was enough people, just put on some coaches at cost....

We went to the away games because we wont go to Sixfields!! For right or wrong I took the stance of never ever setting foot in or near Sixfields, I won't change now. Will go to Sheffield though.

Nice to see that balanced viewpoint shining through.

If anyone was planning on doing this as a one off; a guy at work told me earlier him and his brother fancied going to see Wolves get promoted (not sure why as he's a spurs fan but there you go) and apparently they wouldnt sell him tickets in the home end as he wasnt on the Coventry database.

We could all start going to Northampton and try and blame ACL/CCC for everything whilst continually having a dig at anyone that doesn't agree.

It should have been a TOTAL boycott of sixfields from the start. The 1500 CCFC fans that have gone there, regardless of their own personal motives, have only been complicit with SISU in ruining our club. If everyone had stayed away from day one, I'm certain we'd already be back at the Ricoh, because SISU would have been told then and there that without the fans, they just haven't got a business.

If we got together for a 'hands around the Ricoh' and form a human chain of United fans around the entire stadium, that would get more media attention and on a national level too. It will be peaceful and purposeful and will show SISU, The Football League and everyone else in no uncertain terms, that Coventry fans will not be fobbed off in the name of commerce.

That's what we should do and not compromise our principals by attending sixfields and giving more of our hard earned money to to a clueless company looking to destroy that which we love.

Remember, 'Hands around the Ricoh' should be Peaceful and purposeful. (And if we got together for a few beers in some of the old haunts afterwards, then even better).

Nick I don't think I've ever had disagreement with you before but here I do :)
It's not about "get more than at the game" scenario. It's about the obvious reality that a whole lot of fans would attend a protest at the Ricoh because it's in Coventry and not 35 miles away! The amount you get relates to how good a protest it can be. Sending a few hundred on a coach to sixfields will not make the grade Nick and again who would bother given the time to do so?
I like the hands round the Ricoh idea too. The very essence of drawing attention to your plight is to create something which gets noticed.
Organised well I think 10k could be mobilised to attend outside the Ricoh and get some national exposure.
And again, going only to sixfields would suggest the protest is merely targeting SISU? I want all fans to be given the opportunity to protest that disagree with SISU's stance and those that disagree with ACL's stance too. Finally this would bring together the warring factions among fans to a common cause.

It wouldn't bring together the warring factions though would it, as some would still be at sixfields and some would still be on the hill?

I haven't been to Sixfields all season because of my principles and I am not going to sacrifice them now. There is already a deafening silence at Sixfields.

You know what I mean though, if you do some thing, do it so everyone can go.

Couldn't agree more. I always felt that the last home game was a great opportunity not only to bring together all factions (perhaps a twin protest at the Ricoh of people who can't go - disabled/old/etc). Also a last chance to send a message to all parties before the summer break (and the JR).

Screw that, get some coaches. Pretty sure people would chip in.

Make it like a big carnival.

Will it change anything? I doubt it.

People can see their mates from footy, have a laugh, party atmosphere inside and out (whatever your preference).

I want to see this on Sixfields carpark:

It's a two way street Nick and obvious you would never attend anything at the RICOH.

But by doing it on a match day, its cutting out the people on the hill and sixfields ;)

All I am saying is, do something where there is the option for everybody.

I do like this idea, hopefully KCIC will get behind it to make it a reality. Maybe if MichaelCCFC thought he could flog a few t-shirts at the event he'd be keen to get involved.

Although I jest about the t-shirts they are pretty good, as it hasn't been posted for at least 20 mins here's the link http://www.creativemidfielder.co.uk/shop.php?c=keep-coventry-in-coventry

And a special link for Grendel.........

I guess I've hit the nail on the head then if that's the best you've got.

A lucid and logically composed post replied to with a one word profanity.

You must feel such a sense of achievement here. I personally am flabbergasted at the level of intellectual argument that you have been able to muster on that one post.

It justifies your decision to support SISU and go to Sixfingers.

Typical! If you can't back up your feelings and points of view with conversation, let's just swear!

Ta ta.
