I'll try and have a look to see if I can find data for the 2011/12 later for you, I suspect you're right especially considering the data from last season:

To hijack this point. This is one of the many reasons I want the club fan owned. If we had visibility of exactly where the costs and lack of income are maybe we could support them (e.g. accept higher prices, buy more pies, whatever).

Who are the couple?

Is it you and me, Grendel and MMM, Astute and Torch, Sky Blue Kid and the good Lord Summerisle, Hill and Valiant, OSB and PSGM1 ? The suspense is killing me!

(Apologies for missing many good posters out in the name match up)

Yeah, where's me and LAST?

They paid £500k out of the escrow

It also saved ACL £5m, as they owed £19m loan but ccc bought it for £14m.

But the money in the Escrow didn't originally come from the club/Sisu did it? Was the Escrow account topped up again?

Also have to pay for bandwidth unfortunately :(

Now I feel guilty... :(

Serious question: does this place cost you each month? You should post up the bill and a paypay account, I'd chip a bit in and I'm sure Grendel as the most frequent poster with a massive income would too ;)

the money was from a grant, but was given to the club to put in the escrow so where the money came from doesn't really matter.

Yes, I'd be all up for an annual report, including finances, etc to be published.

To be honest, the site is on a dedicated server which isn't cheap. I have other sites on the server also and between them and here with adverts (even though they are annoying and I try to keep the to a minimum for members) it does pay for itself. SBT doesn't necessarily cover it, but between them they do but SBT is the busiest site and needs the most work (on a technical side rather than moderating).

I wouldn't want to take any money off anybody, rather they gave it to charity to be fair. I know some forums take donations / have membership schemes but no real need I don't think.

In December I had to buy some more memory for the server and looking to get a new one soon (if the site in my signature) takes off!

Every so often I will need to pay out for things like forum software / upgrades but to be honest I don't mind.

You're a good man. I remember how server issues took down GMK, wouldn't want the same to happen here and us bitching and insulting you shouldn't cost you money.

I have tried to make sure that the server is as stable as possible, especially on big days. Although I don't really see eye to eye with the place I rent the server off and they keep trying to get me out and some random american in to run my websites. Out of order really :(

perhaps the club could contribute. Thats CCFC, not SISU, as they are 2 completely seperate businesses remember !

I don't see why they don't have their own forum TBH, great source of intel and could answer questions directly.

Sounds a familiar tale .

There's a parallel there somewhere.;)

OFF TOPIC

I have always tried to use the site as part of the club in the past (years ago when it first started and before all the crap) to try and blag things like discounts and offers for the members that would both make it a bonus of being a member on here and helps CCFC with advertising but it didn't come to much.

Now of course SISU just pay me for their PR ;)

As it's mostly ACL talk nowadays, a chunk could come from then.

To be fair, I asked PWKH for a prediction league prize and he offered a room in the Ricoh hotel as a prize, but nobody seemed to be interest when offered :(

He was happy to help out and donate something. I didn't actually get a response from the club at the time :(

How did ccc stepping in save ACL 5 million? They owed 14 million on the loan + a figure for interest. ACL still have to pay interest on the new loan. Whilst it improves the cash flow situation has it saved them 5 million?

Okay and sorry to be pedantic/get the facts straight, but it therefore wasn't Sisu who paid the money out.

Not according to the telegraph.

ACL had around £19million left of a £22m loan with Yorkshire Bank for the stadium lease.

As I said earlier, extending the course of the loan over 40 years has increased the amount needed to pay.

Which could at the JR be seen as not being State Aid as it has actually increased the costs on the business.

Was still ACL who took it, whatever it's source. Was kept in the escrow account to pay rent if the main tenant(CCFC) didn't.

Still don't know why Robinson wasn't chased for it?

No the money was paid by the clubs money that was in the escrow account.

We can get pedantic and say that the council don't own the whole Ricoh because the 3.9% is owned by the ERDF whom they received a habit from.

Acl accounts showed outstanding capital to be under 15 million in may 2012. Notes say 14.4 million was paid to satisfy the loan in full.

Well, if you had a 40 year lease at £1.3m/year, yeah.

Er....no unless you are actually suggesting the vast majority of ACL's value is based on a lease with the football club. That's a real dumb statement.

All part of the job; and people are entitled to their views.

I went to Alderman Calllow, so I'm used to getting a kicking. Albeit a physical rather than virtual one!
