Date and location still to be confirmed, but aim is for it to take place before June’s Ricoh Arena judicial review

A Sky Blues official has said the finishing touches are being put to a planned public discussion about the situation at the club.

Mark Labovitch, CCFC non-executive director, said he has held around 24 small meetings with fans over the past few weeks as he decides which supporters to invite to the club-organised forum.

Officials from The Sky Blue Trust had previously offered to arrange a public meeting for fans to ask questions about the club’s accounts – but this offer was declined by Mr Labovitch in favour of a wider forum coordinated by the club.

The date and location are still to be confirmed, but the aim is for it to take place before June’s Ricoh Arena judicial review.

Mr Labovitch previously stated his desire to invite all concerned parties to participate in the forum including Arena Coventry Ltd (ACL), which operates the Ricoh Arena, and Coventry City Council and The Alan Edward Higgs Charity, which hold a joint stake in ACL.

He named Coventry City Council leader Ann Lucas and council chief executive Martin Reeves as two people he would like to attend – but it seems unlikely anyone from the council would agree to take part in any such forum as the authority has a long stance of refusing to publicly discuss the Ricoh Arena ahead of the judicial review.

Mr Labovitch has now added that he would like former CCFC board members Joe Elliott and Gary Hoffman to participate.

It is understood Mr Elliott would be willing to discuss the possibility of attending with Mr Labovitch, but he is likely to wait and see who else would be involved – and what shape the club-organised forum would take – before agreeing to participate.

Club director Steve Waggott and Sky Blues accountant Steve Brookfield would also be involved in the forum.

Mr Labovitch also said the forum could see more documents revealed.

He said: “We are going to announce a date very soon.

“I do not want any fan to have any kinds of doubts or questions that haven’t been answered and I do believe there are a few myths that need to be knocked on the head.

“When we have the date and the venue I’m going to ask the council and ACL as well as Joe and Gary to come. I think they have a significant level of involvement in all of this.

"I don’t think it’s fair for anyone’s ears to be burning. I don’t think there’s a solution that gets the club back as quickly as we want unless the truth is out there.”

Fantastic just need a date, a location and an invite now.

No he has committed to it so it will now happen I'm sure.

He committed to live on radio and in the paper a few weeks ago and said it would happen in April.
Yet a couple of days ago you agreed with Mr Eakin that it isn't happening before the JR.

Only if someone is willing to attend where they would hope to get some information. And I suspect that once it started it would be all one way traffic and we would find out nothing about our club and their plans for it. Look at the last meeting which was nothing more than a witch hunt. All about allegations to try and get rid of anyone that questioned them.

Just hope someone gets invited who can really breakdown how we expect to pay our investors back.
Without an answer to this how do you expect them to invest?

Who has he been meeting with recently and why have they not shared the information with all the fans?
Have they asked the questions we all want the answers to?

I would imagine the purpose was to establish a format - the questions surely will be addressed at the forum.

Hopefully the format will be a question is asked and we don't move onto the next one until it has actually been directly answered. No diversions. Also hopefully it is down to the supporters to ask whatever question they want.

Well one poster said the other day he met him...and I would hardly describe him in such terms.

I would like to ask the obvious question. How will investors get their 75 million back if we build a new stadium ?

Also I would ask Mr Waggot what is your role?

Also I would ask what potential damage can Coventry City Council do to the club if we rent the Ricoh for five years whilst building the new stadium?

If there's lots of people there then they know it will descend into name calling and shouting but if it gives them another opportunity to have a go at CCC for not turning up (they know they won't) and slate them some more before the JR then they will be happy. However, if it turns out like when Fisher nipped into a pub for a piss they might not think that (not saying that is what should happen and if it does I am in no way involved), because that is the way people are starting to feel.

Was that Rob S?

No and I'm not saying who in case I read it wrong. No one seemed to pick up on the comment. Its a very hostile anti-sisu poster.

I'd be interested to know how Labovitch was choosing who to meet with. Surely a fans forum should be open to whoever wishes to go, in the interests of transparency and openness?

I can't believe ML is still playing the hand of controller where is TF where is JS in all this, its ok calling out the heads of all others parties except sisu's own. He really is something and while we all think about the questions they keep the main ones behind the scenes who can answer all... any question that he doesn't want to answer he will either say can't because of the JR case or JS, TF need to answer that!!!!!.. I would refuse to go unless Ann lucas, Martin Reeves, JS and TF with others concerned were present.. He and Sisu have really conned us fans from day 1 with promises and misdirection its just sad that some follow or hang on every word.

@ Grenduffy...Maybe you read my post wrong. I'm saying ML will PICK the ones he wants. Can you see him inviting anyone with questions remotely anti-SISU?

So-( 'as he decides which supporters to invite', and the 'forum coordinated by the club',) it seems that this event will be more closely controlled than a North Korea political rally.Despite pretending to move on and full steam ahead for the new stadium, the obsession with the Ricoh continues apace. He seems desperate to invite every man and his dog from even years gone by, but never ever mentions inviting Joy the one person who has more influence by far than anyone else.

The other thing that bothers me about this was when ML first suggested a forum it was because he was unable to answer 'why one of the accounts was showing less assets ' also he was unable to answer how Investors will get their money back if we build a new stadium'

Next day he is inviting the council to meeting we all know that was pointless. Plus they can't answer those questions.

Now he wants to invite GH and JE again

They can't answer those questions. I am starting to get a bad feeling about this.

Want a wooden spoon to stir more stuff?

Why not make a post demanding an apology?

I am sure a cross section of supporters will be attending.
