Filled in some of the ones you missed out from when Clarke was injured this/last season

record is
Played 30
Won 7
Drew 8
Lost 15

Thinks that is all correct

Pressley record at Cov

37% win ratio

1.4ppg

For comparison (ppg includes cup games but I can't help that):

Robins: 1.7ppg, 52% win ratio (L1)
Thorn: 1ppg, 22% win ratio (Champ/L1)
Boothroyd: 1.1ppg 30% win ratio (Champ)
Coleman: 1.3ppg 33% win ratio (Champ)
Dowie: 1.4ppg 41% win ratio (Champ)

Can you do the same purely on league games?

Edit: I just remembered I'd already done it and posted Dowie's, Coleman's and Adams

To be fair dowies record in the league was pretty average -

PL 43 W 15 D7 L 21 Win ratio 35% Loss ratio 49% 1.21 pts per game (55 over a season) - the points per game is almost identical to Coleman's 1.19 (54.5) and Adams - 1.26 pts per game (58).

We're going down next season I think, the better players like Wilson, Moussa & Murphy will be off. We won't be able to bring in anyone off the same standard as the players we're losing.

I reckon you're right, assuming we scrape enough points to stay up in the last 3 games

We've won 42 games? So why are we worrying about relegation? ;)

Edit: damn edit button. Now my post looks silly and out of place ;)

Yeah Dowie had a couple of decent cup runs didn't he? (Though I think they count as much if not more than league in some ways in terms of entertainment alone. Also Robins had a decent run didn't he?)

I think what we can gather is that we've been rubbish for a while and not many people have changed that.

59 points this season, we shouldn't be looking over our shoulder at relegation.

Yep, plus robins managed the fewest number of league games and had a fit McGoldrick and then Clarke for his entire stint, plus had a decently funded squad for this league.

It's bizarre really. I'm sat here gloomy as fook, thinking about how God awful this season has been and how crap we are. But then you add the 10 points back on and we are what, 9th? 8th? It's such a weird feeling. Think back to 4 months ago, boxing day. Just beaten Peterboro 4-2 at home, we were flying. Leon Clarke and Callum Wilson both joint top goalscorers in the league, young talented players doing so well and signing new deals such as Thomas, Wilson, J. Clarke, Phillips, Willis, flying high with people tipping us as dark horses for play offs. Back to now, April the 18th and the picture is so so different.

What has gone wrong? For me the real turning point in the season was that game we were 2-0 up at home, was it Crawley? And we conceeded 2 goals in a min on about 84 min mark and drew 2-2. 30 mins later rumours flying around Leon handed in a transfer request. That game/day was the turning point for me, we've won about 3 games since. Wilson came back and was better than ever but he can't do it on his own and we just don't create chances now. Remember in sept/oct we were having 20-30 shots at goal a game. We have to beat Oldham, we have to stay up, and we have to get this off field thing sorted otherwise we are a banker for relegation next season

Same for Black and Nilsson to be honest (in terms of games played).

Would be interesting to correlate wage bills for them all as well. I suspect the decreasing points tally would match up to the decreasing bill as much as the manager.

We are a banker next season for relegation, whats gone wrong i think nobody cares anymore. So stop the fucking worrying and get on with something more interesting than 11 no hopers running about creating at most 2 attempts on target

The worry next season for me is (assuming we are in this division). half the squad of 22 will be made up by academy (according to CET this week, S Pressley?). If that is the case, we will have 11 'proper' players making uo the rest. If so, with suspensions and injuries we will be fielding a minimum of 2 academy players a game - which will inevitably
drag us into the loan market again (which if it works similarly to this season, is damn worrying). We either need the luck of the Irish in terms of injuries, or the likes of George Thomas etc turning into Calum Wilsons in a short space of time (before Wolves buy them up in January, that is !!) ;) Fingers crossed the JR changes everything for the better.

I got the impression from the article that Pressley wants to have half the squad from the Academy.

So he obviously sees something in them. The obvious prominence of Wilson aside , I think they have done wonders developing some of our young players. Willis and J.Clarke have both come on immeasurably as footballers this season, from being thrown in it.

A lot more likely is that our pathetic turnover this season will mean we can't afford to sign senior professionals.

Better to have 11 home grown academy and 11 good senior pros than 5 graduates and 17 journeymen. Elvis knows what he's doing.

We need to replace Murphy, Moussa and Clarke (and Baker) as seasoned pros.

I could see this squad next year:

Murphy(or a cheaper alternative)/Burge
Willis/Philips
Seaborne/Clarke
Webster/Urquhart
Adams/Haynes
Marshall/Finch
NEW CM/Thomas
Fleck/Garner
NEW LW/Lawton
NEW ST/Maund
NEW ST/Maddison

That's 4/5 new players in. Christie, Baker, Moussa, Barton, Daniels, Wilson, Robinson, Eccleston, Delfouneso, McGeouch, all off the wage bill and Murphy on reduced terms or a different keeper. I'd expect in the region of £3m in cash income as well. Spend half of that on new players and you're looking at a reasonable squad with 10 pros, 12 academy products.

Lot of pressure on the new players to deliver though, especially midfield and up front looks weak.

We will not have the turnover to sign anyone capable of scoring the goals we will need to be competitive. That is unless Wilson is sold for big money.

We won't be able to sign that many senior pros and Pressley knows it. Putting children in the first team is the only option he will have and a humiliation awaits next season unless the off field situation drastically improves.

We had the turnover this season, though obviously a proven goalscorer will cost more than Wilson, and Pressley seems certain that equity will be put in.

This year it was based on crowds of 11,000. Next season it will be based on 2,000.

Ian1779

Is that right? I thought it was projected income rather than last seasons.

Well in that case, we are fucked. We'll hardly be able to pay the kids, let alone 11 pros.

There is no limit to the equity a club can put in, but it must be in form of donation - not loan.
