Looking for City Fans For a Documentary (2 Viewers)

Hi,

I am a documentary filmmaker and am currently researching a documentary looking at how the move to Northampton has divided the City supporters, and what impact it has had on our lives.

This will NOT be an expose or a political discussion about the situation surrounding the ground move. It will be neither pro nor anti any organisation that has contributed to the move.

I would love to speak with anyone who has anything interesting to say about how the move has affected them, and the people they go to games with, personally.

I am particularly, but not exclusively, interested in groups of supporters who have been split between going to Sixfields and not going to Sixfields.

Please email me at:

[email protected]
or inbox me

Many Thanks,

KG7

I think you're bit about the piece being neither pro nor anti any organisation that has contributed to the move, pretty much rules out about 100% of people on this forum.

Good luck though mate!

Of course the contributors will have an opinion on this, but the documentary won't focus on it, and won't take a side, or deal with the finer details of why we've moved. I'm more interested in the personal stories of how fans have responded to the move and how it has affected our lives.

Oh right...that's easy...we all hate each other a lot more now!

Seriously, good luck. Be interested in seeing the finished article. I'd offer a contribution but I'm merely a keyboard warrior, sat in a field on the South Coast and rarely went to home games anyway due to other commitments, distance etc. More inclined to go to away games where possible.

I wouldn't consider going to Sixfields though if I were to attend a home game. I reckon I went to HR/Ricoh once or twice a season so no real difference for me.

I'm like SBWM living away from Coventry but went to the Ricoh when visiting relatives - can't do that now, no relatives in Northampton! Only see the City when they are up North now, as being disabled, can't go too far from home now as my lad has to come with me.

Same here, I used to make sure all my visits to see family by happy coincidence were the same days we were playing at home.

KG87 for fooks sake

There is a protocol for this sort of thing man, you can't just raise a thread willy nilly asking for this sort of thing...

You are supposed to email nick first, asking for 1 anti Sisu, 1 neutral, and lots of loud and shouty sisu supporting types to appear..... (although asking for people who have something "interesting to say" is a tad hopeful...)

Oh, and you must agree to never show this documentary either...

I'll tell you about a situation in my very own family! Just the other day I was sat talking with my uncle when he revealed he was terminally ill. He went on to say that he doesn't know how long he's got left but is willing to sacrifice his principles about our move to Sixfields just to get a chance to see CCFC play as much as possible before his own inevitable end! With tears in his eyes he asked me to take him to the Swindon game!!! My heart sank at the news and I knew I had to do the right thing! So I looked him in the eye, called him a scab, and left!!!

savosdad would be best for this. He'd sum up the entire situation within three breathless minutes and guarantee you an 18 certificate to boot.

Personally I think you could have taken him. Its not like the noise or excitement is going to kill him !!!

I think we had a genuine case along the lines of a young Father with a serious illness posted on here nearer the start of the season.

He was going to take his lad along and received resounding support ,I say support because like everyone else ,approval Isn't required .

Hi Wingy,

A horrible situation and not something that we should be faced with as football supporters. Morals shouldn't come into it!

Do you know who this was and do you know if they are still posting?

Thanks to the huge amount of people who have been in touch so far, everyone has been incredibly helpful.

I want to put the focus onto the fans and tell our story so the more information I can get from everyone, the more understanding and heartfelt the documentary will be.

Sorry But I was being sarcastic like the original post as I read it was intended.

Like a few others who have posted on this thread, I also live a fair distance away (Isle of Wight). Not only does the cost of fuel and entrance fee affect me, but I would also have to pay for a return ferry which at the moment is approximately £60. On top of fuel and ticket costs, I reckon it would come to around £125 for every home game whether at Sixfields or the Ricoh. Having supported City since 1963 (my first match was against Huddersfield as a 10 year old), I have probably seen around 1,000 home games, give or take a few. Due to financial constraints, there is no way I can ever be a regular paying fan, but if I still lived in Cov and had the finances, then I would attend, but ONLY at the Ricoh.

Me too - 10 at the time and went with a friend as my dad was not into football. I think it was Peterborough my first match! Took my lad for the first time in the 86/87 season to watch the mighty Oxford Utd and at age 7 he was hooked (and has blamed me ever since :D )

So whats the plan with this film KG7? Have you pitched this to a network who have shown an interest, or are you hoping to flog it once its been finished?

All interesting stuff guys.

Please, if you have anything to contribute, email me at [email protected] so I can get your email address.

Nice play on words ccfcway but i'm not interested in taking sides, just the emotion of the fans, and how we're all dealing with it.

And Reg, I'm putting together a pitch package. I have a number of contacts that I think might be interested but the important thing at this stage is finding the people who I would focus on. The backdrop to it all is already there, as we all know too well!
