I don't disagree with any that and as I have previously stated all monies that Sisu are willing to invest in any new Stadia should be used to purchase as much of the Ricoh's revenues that will benefit CCFC as humanly possible.

I think we can all agree on the Northampton move by the way BSB, I am not sure many see it as a more stable financial footing.

Not disagreeing with you there Rob. Indeed every plausible solution that is put forward to bring the club home serves to highlight how pathetically our owners are behaving.

Buying out ACL would entitle you to 80% of the stadium's revenue as it is through IEC that ACL derives its income. Buying out IEC would not have to be the be all and end all of us moving back, I should add. SISU are losing out on enormous sums as a direct consequence of playing in Northampton-they would see their finances improve markedly by returning even as tenants.

If we have enough money to build enough stadium, we have enough money to buy out access to the stadium's revenues.

Agree with that totally... but how exactly do the club do that? Will the council let someone (let alone SISU) buy out ACL/IEC? It's not like they have shares that can be bought.

Doesn't the Council have the right to Veto against any purchase of any the 50% shares?

But what it also gives you is the lack of animosity between ACL and Sisu which is something that should be explored.

The fans should not be the ones having to dig into their own pockets to make it happen though. That's the main objection I have with all this-suppose the idea works and then a few months in one party goes back on their word and you have a situation similar to what's going on with the PSL money, only on an even bigger scale. I really don't want fans to get cheated for having good intentions.

ACL own just over 80% of the shares in IEC, Compass own the remaining 20%. All that has to be done is a negotiation to establish a fair price for the shares that could be tied in with a long term, nominal costs rental agreement.

The thing is BSB how many plausible solutions have we had? For instance the basis of this thread is built on a fan who hasn't even spoken to the Club! Martin Kelman could agree the best deal recorded in history with ACL but it won't mean Jack if Martin Kelman doesn't run it over with the Club's board.

ACL/Cov Coucil/Martin Kelman don't own the Club or the team, Sisu do and as Mark Labovitch has said (most annoying to admit but...) any offer that is serious enough for the consideration of the Club needs to be put to the Club.

I agree with that, but according to Martin Kelman's original article, he is due to have willing investors also involved in this idea? I agree with what you're saying about the fans though it's not right that Martin Kelman or any party feels that negotiation should be financed from the fans point of view just in case it goes tits up..

The club is starving itself of money and everybody knows we are better off, if only in the short term, as tenants at the Ricoh than as tenants anywhere else. SISU are taking damage to the tune of millions of pounds in lost income and they are acutely aware of how the numbers would work out if we return. Why we haven't returned is therefore not because of money, it's because of a personal desire on Seppalla's part to get rid of the council entirely.

As soon as she gets hold of the Ricoh she can sell it and the club as one package for much more money than she is ever going to get for the club alone. Getting a stadium on the balance sheet is vital to getting some kind of return for the investors.

A return for her investors? Sounds like any other business to me.

Admittedly the way Sisu are going about it is wrong 100%, but none of us are aware of Joy Seppala or Sisu's desires regarding the Council/ACL it's speculation and none of us can confirm it.

We have both stated two ways the Club or Sisu could go about making the Club financially better but it's not down to us, we are pawns and ultimately the decision is with people that to me resemble baboons.,

I'm not knocking her for it, just saying that's what I think this is all ultimately about. Get the Ricoh for as cheap as possible then sell it and the club for as much as possible-not something many of us here would in principle disagree with.

Labovitch states, “If someone isn’t going to come and contact the club’s owner directly, how can you have a discussion about anything?"

Since very few people know who the owner(s) are then how can he contact them directly, unless the owners are going to make themselves known.

Note. Joy is not the owner as she stated in the CT interview,
“I shepherd other people’s money."

I agree with most of this statement but not the baboons part.

SISU are shrewd operators and have invested successfully many times and made money, only hindsight will tell us if the approach being followed is wrong.

Yes, the fans and the club are pawns. Fans can post all day long on forums but if fans don't like it then the best way to change things is to buy out one or more of the parties involved and change things, unfortunately £3 million will not be enough.

You'd think wouldn't you that they would have done the research, would know the market and would at least compete? But no, shrewd as they may or may not have been it seems that they really haven't got the first clue, (as evidenced by the past five years) and are, in this market at least, anything but shrewd.

in my most humble opinion,
sisu have shown themselves to be
totally incapable of communication with the public,
had the worst PR ever,
abused the fans to the n'th degree,
hidden truth's / facts from as many as possible,
and clearly stated that they are here to grab & not nurture,
there, of course, will be a few who will overstate how much they have invested,
however, this, or that, figure has never been adequately justified,
i would never rule out other parties for criticism,
though i would say sisu's 'pr' machine, is in my humble opinion,
a crock of shit

The USA-based businessman behind a plan to get the Sky Blues back to the Ricoh Arena has revealed more details about his project.
Dallas-based Coventry-born businessman Martin Kelman insisted he had to act now after a similar idea was put online and then removed by an anonymous group known as “The Highfield Road Group” - something he feared would result in distrust of the online fundraising concept.

The previous group stated it sought ownership of the club, but Mr Kelman insists he is interested only in negotiating a deal with Ricoh Arena operators Arena Coventry Limited (ACL) for the club’s rent.
A long-running rent dispute between the football club and stadium bosses has seen the club move to play ‘home’ games 35 miles away in Northampton.
He plans to use his online fundraising business, known as CrowdBoarders, to raise around £3million from fans to secure a rent deal, with any excess funds being paid into the club.

Mr Kelman said people would not be asked to part with cash until it became clear there was enough interest for the idea to take off.
“At this time it is a simple pledge until the amount required is determined by Sisu and ACL,” he said.

“No money will change hands until the rent is finalised. Once the amounts are set, it is important to start to show the support as we all know £2m to £3m is a good ‘ballpark’.
“All funds raised would go directly into the club in entirety with excess utilised for operational costs.

“A water fall starts with a drop of rain, as long as we have continued momentum we will continue it until we can reach agreement even if this takes a year or more.
“This change has to take place, and the Coventry fans now have the mechanism to make this change if they want it enough and will support the model to make it happen.”

Martin Kelman with his wife Lucia Amador at the Ricoh Arena Mr Kelman admitted this would be the first project his company had undertaken but that it had other fund-raising projects in the pipeline.
He said: “CrowdBoarders currently has about 25 projects in the planning phase, including the Guards’ Museum Centenary Garden, in London, and two major sporting events.

“This will be the first launched due to the time-frame involved and the personal interest I have in the future of CCFC.”
Asked how the level of rent would be set, and payment managed, he said: “This will be a negotiable area, ultimately the return of the football club is in ACL’S best interests so we anticipate them acting accordingly and being realistic for both the club and the city.

“Ideally it would be on a pre-paid annual basis to prevent the rental issues arising again which ultimately led to the current situation.”
Mr Kelman has said he is now putting the final touches to the fundraising platform and expects it to go live within the next few days.

He's right about the distrust fear, that Highfield Road group thing was a bizarre farce.

Indeed but that was more to do with the group themselves than the platform it was being run on. I would say it is more likely people would distrust a company like this than companies like kickstarter or indiegogo who have a decent track record.

Whether anyone trusts the guy is irrelevant .

The principal of the Idea Is sound and listening to the Snippet of Labovitch on the radio Is Incapable of Grasping .

That Is that the club will not be renting as he Argues they Can't and mustn't .The club will be Playing rent free for 2-3-5 yrs while It builds the New Ground ,keeping the business viable and alive for the fans.

If for no other purpose this #idea needs to be supported to Inform and expose the FLof Its madness allowing a groundshare 35 miles away.
