Could Steve Howard be our new striker target on a season long loan?
He scores goals this guy and is proven in this league........

I'm undecided, think he wold fit in perfectly with Juke up front, but he doesn't really fit into the rest of the team, I would try and fnd someone more suited to the all round team, but if hes the only option then beggers can't be choosers.

Don't know about Steve Howard. Any source for this? But according to today's Telegraph David Bell has said Andy Thorne told him he is looking to bring in 2 attacking midfielders. Now we've all been waiting through the summer for things to happen and we're all cynical, but if this conversation is to be believed......

I think if you read the article again (at the version on the website), you'll find it says " IF Andy Thorne told me....."

Id say hes more suited to a long ball game, what with him being a pretty big fecker, however as said before, a signing is a signing!

On sky sports it does say his likely destination is Derby or Sheff Wed, and no mention of us!

Then again, Sky Sports have been pretty shite with their reports / rumours of late!

I would rather it be Frankie than Steve.
Steve is a big lumbering carthorse ,and if that is the sort of player we are looking at then it's going to be a long season.Actually i think Frankie is the only one of the two we can afford, as long as SISU can come up with the cost of buying the spade to dig him up,which knowing them they may turn down as too expensive an initial outlay.

Yes, Steve Howard is a big lad - old school Centre Forward 6' 3" and 35 years of age.

Career goal scoring record: 186 goals in 630 games = 14 goals per season man - best career period: Luton Town 2001/2006 96 goals in 212 games

Have seen him play several times, good heart, a handful up front, slow but flick ons generally directional to team mates.

Could be a good benchman until wanted as an impact player - worth a punt.
