The actual figures from the accounts showed an average of £10 per head.

can you please post these figures? thanks in advance.

I was merely playing Grendel at his own "nit-picking" game, he regularly picks on the small detail that people miss on their post. In this case, he has missed small details, and when questioned on it, refused to reply with any constructiveness.

There's a difference between turnover and profit.
Do the math and tell us what the club lose per ticket.

it's amazing how those that contribute even any calculations are told to "do the math"

bit ironic that those who tell posters to "do the math" are not "doing the math" themselves.

And you missed the small detail that the figures are in this thread.

Turnover split as 2,996,143 match receipts and 3,575,626 commercial income (2012 3,550,702 and 7,275,282 respectively)

This crowsnest?

I was pointing out you could make figures look like anything you want. As for how much they lose per ticket thats the difference between revenue and costs. The first years at the Ricoh loss was down to wages after that you tell me.

but that's the main argument for many posters on here. but they miss out the wages part.

No - the wages have been too high for too many years.

Most complain that we don't spend enough on player wages.

Think the year we went down, our wages were something like 107% of turnover.

And there are two ways to get that percentage down - 1) Reduce the wage bill, or 2) Increase the revenue.

Many posters want us to be competitive and attract good players that command a high wage, but fails to accept the club must own ACL before that is happening.

Only hearsay I must point out but there was one guy who would only be picked up by limo and stay at Ansty Hall. Nice and expensive if true. What about compo for all the managers we've had:facepalm:

I personally believe players should not be receiving more than 5k per week at any level, but that's a different argument.

I think we need to be competitive against other clubs, but not beyond our means. Always a route to disaster if promotion/ cup wins aren't achieved.

Personally, I think basic salaries should be low, with goal, assist, clean sheets and appearance bonuses being a key part. More of an incentive to perform if that makes sense? (I know players and agents will never allow this)

I do agree with what you've posted. This is a key part of moving forward.

Your reply to my comment: I meant many will say we still lost £X amount despite having 20,000 average gate, because we were renting the Ricoh. That's what I meant by saying miss out the wages.

Think Compo would have been a better bet as manager than Coleman or Thorn.

Norah Batty would have been better than either of them to be honest.

We never managed to charge more than £10 a ticket at the Ricoh.

I can see where the confusion has come from, that could be read as no single ticket cost more than £10 rather than a season average.

Are you referring to the last season we spent at the Ricoh? Would be interesting to see how much, if at all, that price has dropped under SISUs ownership. Do you know if it includes comp tickets? If it does that could skew the figure, would be more interesting to know average paid ticket price.

No every season. I have the figures somewhere but from memory it ranged from £9 to £11 including pre sisu years. That's why the break even figure of 22.500 full paying customers was a nonense.
The actual figures are I think for the last 5 years to be fair.
Logically the figure should be less as many season ticket holders had a £5 per game reduction 3 years ago but they always had very good concession and child offers and very quickly were doing deals on games. I think the 5th biggest league attendance is Colchester as they charged £5 for guests of season ticket holders.

Last 4 years.

match receipts from accounts:

2010 £4360518 (17,305 ave = 398,015 + 13,100 cup = 411,115) = £10.60 per visitor

2011 £3925900 ( 16,309 ave = 375,107 + 8162 cup = 383,269) = £10.24 per visitor

2012 £3550702 (15,118 ave = 347,714 + 9k cup = 356,714) = £9.95 per visitor

2013 £2996143 ( 10,906 = 250,838 + 83,470 = 334,308) = £8.96 per visitor

Interesting. Seems quite low when only OAP and kids season tickets would be that cheap, wonder what it is that's pulling the average down. Would be interesting to see a breakdown (full prices, kids etc) but I doubt that info is available. Expect there will be quite a big drop for this season, weren't adult tickets £9 a game at one point this season?

£5 JPT home games have to be bringing the average down alot. Especially since that JPT semi final was getting close to 10% of the seasons attendance. Also as the attendance drops free tickets become a larger percentage of the total which again lowers the amount taken per visitor. It's also perhaps the case as attendance fell there were more offers to bring people in like the kids for a quid, but I'm guessing.
