@ hill83.......RFC was talking "Past Tense" nob!
@ Nick......Feel good having a go at me, but leave the "Fucking Cancerous Cunts" and "that fucking school will never pass another ofsted report useless cunts"....posts alone eh?
you will probably find those comments weren't really spiteful and said in jest more than anything, but hey why not play the 'everyones out to get me' card

fair play to him, he isnt lying about staying.

the council deduction put an end to promotion hopes this season, being in championship next year was only way we would ever keep him

Also there was no coincidence that Christie was dropped from the 1st team (orders from above).
Palace and Watford have been in touch.

@ AndreasB......I would think that the thought of nothing being done inside the ground (Protest wise) from "Home Supporters" would be pretty disgraceful too. Eh?

To be fair some of them have been protesting, they've even set up a protest group and appointed a campaign leader. Unfortunately they're protesting about having to move seats next season and not about being in Northampton.

As if 'captain mensa' can differentiate between those two completely different scenarios.

The people in sixfields are never going to protest. It's a total non starter. Even if they say they aren't happy with us being there they don't show it, so for me, by default, they are content. 'Supporting the boys'

I take it you don't remember AndreasB throwing the toys out of the pram about 9/10 games ago saying..."We've got a big protest lined up in Sixfields, just as soon as the waterlogged pitch has dried up"....It seems the "Waterlogged pitch" wasn't the only thing that "Dried up" was it?

Christie is one of the best full backs in league one and at 21 is still very raw as a player. He's good in the air, quick, composed on the ball and has a decent level of skill which every full back needs. I'm sure by playing more games at a higher level, he'll improve his game (i.e defensive positioning and delivery), he should be wary of the likes of Bigi and Westwood that have spent the last few years of the career on the bench. He and Blair have only come in for stick recently as Elvis has been consistently pissing about with the system, they also haven't benefited playing either side of Webster (As tepid a centre half as you'll see) all season. I think Aaron Phillips will step up and be one of our best players next year, so I'm not that worried about Christie leaving. Good luck to the lad as he always given everything in a city shirt.

@ Lcf.......Totally agree that Christie has a lot to learn. He's very quick with the ball at his feet, and can go round defenders at will. The worst trait however is the final ball into the box. His crossing is atrocious.

You're at it again. I've never said my son reads the forum. He's only 8.

And to prove the fact I don't mind saying you're a total twat as your numerous lying posts prove.

Christie. Good luck to him. To be honest though I can't see why these players go - even for the money. Christie may very well moan about playing in front of low crowds at Sixfields but if he is lucky enough to go to a big team then he'll be in the reserves playing development games in front of a few scouts. Oh, and the first round of the League Cup too obviously. Money talks I realise that but where's professional pride and wanting to play for a team?

Some players believe their own hype and take the big money moves thinking they'll get games when in reality they are already playing at their level...ahem Leon Clarke

True. A case in point is Bigi. How many appearances for Newcastle?

dont worry, be plenty more opportunities next season when we are back at Sixfields whilst you sit at home and cry.

Best example of this in the modern game (post SKY TV & Premier league formation) is Franny Jeffers....

...Could have become an Everton God in the same vein that Robbie Fowler is regarded by the red side.....but Arsenal waved £50k per week at him & he took it....effectively killing his career stone dead....

13 in just under 2 years, there are millions of examples of players that have stayed in league 1/championship for three to four years, developed then made the move to premier league (Tom Ince as an example off the top of my head). There are also many example of the opposite, Connor Wickham went from Ipswich to Sunderland far too early, didn't play for two or so years and kept being farmed out on loan. Its only now that he is showing signs of his early promise at Ipswich, if he'd of stayed bagged twenty a season, then moved he could well be on the plane to Brazil right now

I have never understood the hatred for players who move on for a better deal somewhere else at the end of their contract. Lets put it like this, your working for your current company, you love the place, all your mates are there can't offer you a decent wage or progression. So, you start looking elsewhere, and bingo you find a new job, new big fat pay rise, better prospects, what do you do. Stay with mates, love the place, and never get rewarded for you skill... of course not, off you go. Make new mates and love the place... the cycle starts all over again. Fair play the Christie, he is just looking to improve himself, we all would do the same.

@ AndreasB....You'll have plenty of games to "Set up" some demonstrations pal.....Only you won't have the bollox to start 'em......Just like this season :) As for sitting at home crying.....Don't think so, A nice 4 weeks holiday to California(LA) followed by a cruise through the "Panama Canal" to Miami and 7 days in Fort Lauderdale before flying home. All paid for with money that I haven't given to SISU over the last 3 seasons.

It's a fair question this. I think you need to look at the psychology of footballers though. Most of these guys have been the best in their position at whatever club they've played at for their entire lives. It's in their nature to think they'll succeed wherever they'll go, and with a bit of a push from an agent that stands to make a few bob, and a lot of extra cash for themselves it's no great surprise so many of them end up moving.

Also, in fairness, you're only one bad injury away from ending your career even at 21. I'd look to make as much money out of it as quickly as possible if I was in their position too, I suspect.

I find it hard to label Christies one of the best in League ones, defensively he is poor and is been part of one it the worst defences in the league, and going forward he flatters to deceive, he has less assists than Adams, yet gets in to more attacking areas. I'm an not saying he is poor, just not as good as some think. I hope he goes on to prove me wrong.

I think he's overrated but I have to respect that if a higher club comes in for him it is in his best interests to move.

Respect to him for giving his all whilst he was here and not faking injuries like Clarke and Moussa, it would have been easy for him to throw a strop after we blocked his move to Huddersfield last August and he didn't.

He is hugely over rated. He has t developed his game since his first season. He's predominately a defender and defensively is very suspect. Another Bigi I suspect.
