It wouldn't surprise me if him and few more, out of contract of not had left come August.

Here we go again,blaming the player, anybody in his shoes on here would do the same, he know's what the club can offer he also know's he can get more from others. This business for players is very simple highest level for the biggest wage, he has shown he can play at a higher level so he is getting the money plus will go to a club that is stable, with a plan of progression. Anyone who blame's him for a professional decision is an idiot, he will not be the last who leaves or the last player to come to us as a stepping stone to better options.
His only fault is he has shown little desire which is a big indication he is off and is not risking injury before securing his new deal.. Again will not be the first and not be the last.. As fans we have to except this thing goes on at every level and every player in a career will make a decision to sit a contract out or play himself out the side to stay injury free..The club also do this, keep a player declared as unfit before a big cash move, so works always..

Totally agree, the club do have to plan, however I still feel aggrieved he has not continued to play until the end of his employment with us. Cyrus has still played pretty much every game and we all expect him to leave....
I was not talking about 1 player or a one off situation, i was talking about the business as a whole,,, you think its different at any other club? .. I don't get upset, sad, angry or judgemental about anyone who takes better options in life, even if i had an emotional attachment. Its life, its business and other players come along and like all the other clubs around the world get on with it...

Fans are fickle, players are ambition by nature and will seek improvement to be able to play at the highest level they can.. With that comes security, fame and all trappings that professional footballers lifestyle bring, it should be promoted in clubs like ours develop the academy. More move on more kids get the chance to prove that they can, clubs should prepare and build stronger ties to youth football in the area...

Spot on. You are telling it like it is. Players are in the game for themselves, trying to get the best contracts they can. It's a short career so who can blame them at this level. I just wish some fans would get their heads round the fact that loyalty is for fans, not players. To them it is a business and the club is just an employer.

Coventry fans crack me up , when a player is leaving they are never as good as people think they are and basically want them to fook off because they are a waste of space , fact is we are NOT a club that can hold onto its best players given our current situation, if he goes good luck to him , he did well for us while he was here

There is only 2 clubs that can keep their players if they want, Real Madrid and Barcelona. Athletico will lose some players even if they win the CL. You may find Bayern Munich may lose 1 or 2 to Chelsea etc. I agree with Chipfat in his posts regarding players. I don't blame Moussa for leaving, even if we were a well run club, players would go because we do not play at a higher level. If he would stay, I would keep him because when he is good, he is good. The problem for me is, he is not consistent enough. I have only seen the City play once this year so I cannot comment on his performances this season but before this year at Sixfields, he tends to go missing for large periods of the game and then all of a sudden, spring to life. For me, I doubt he will be effective in the Championship against a better standard. Don't forget Leicester let him go.

I reckon that might be because he has been here a while and at least has some feeling for the club, whereas Moussa hasn't. If only we'd have offered him a contract...............

I think you have to accept players running their contracts down and leaving for nothing in the modern game.
I think the difference between a well run club and poorly run club is the difference between the number of players who go out the door on a free and the number who you get in. I can't remember too many good players we have managed to get in on bosmans from lower league clubs other than Westwood and Keogh.
As for players wanting to play at the highest level, i 've never fully understood that. As a striker surely banging in say 25 goals in the championship playing every game, winning most weeks loved by the fans etc is better than earning just a few grand more and being a squad player in the prem playing a dozen games a season scoring a couple and having fans on your back for being sh1te.
