I think, and it only THINK mind, that Leicester's owner has converted debt to equity, or some kind of legal malarky, so that effectively most of what he's put in is transferred to the club itself, so he can't go and take the dosh out himself. Something to that effect, though doubtless someone will put us right.

While he's a rich businessman who didn't get where he was today by wasting money, maybe its some kind of honour or pride thing with him where he's really stuck with them and put his money where his mouth is. Perhaps there will be a point when he does think enough is enough, like the Villa Chairman, and sell up...but saying he'll shell out £180m to make them a top 5 club, I think he'll stick around until he achieves just that. Remarkable, I thought he followed West Ham!

Hi COAB

The way a Leicester fan explained it to me is that the Thais are happy to gift their investment away as equity because the club is being used as a free advertising tool for King Power in the UK. In other words the added publicity and commercial exposure from using Leicester to promote the 'brand' is worth the football outlay.

Modern football folks.

Yes but when you're worth a few billion it is peanuts. They're using City as a vehicle to globalise their King Power brand. They're here for the long run I'd have thought

It's a rotten indictment on English football that this is the only way to become competitive.

Good luck to them. Let's not embarrass ourselves by being bitter. We'd snap someone's hand off to trade places.

Im with you on this Hill.

I honestly wish them the best of luck, as they were the best team in the Championship this season, and won it playing good football.

They stuck with a decent manager after the disaster of the previous big name (Sven Goran) and were rewarded with a team who played for him. The fact he did it without spending huge mega bucks and with a team of good decent players shows what a good job he did.

Whilst I wish it was us and not any other Midland team, its not and as Midlands football is frankly shit at the moment for once its good to see a team from the area doing well.

Good for Leicester at least they are going to spend the Sky money unlike teams like Burnley who will go up and invest in their ground etc which has no value for the Sky viewer, I believe that the promoted teams should only get parachute money to balance out their spending otherwise what is it for a present for getting up.
