Loan options (7 Viewers)

There are plenty of options for loan players in the market.
the problem might be getting the agreeing clubs to pay most of the players wages.
That being said who is out there that would make a difference for us if we could agree a wage deal?

One springs to mind: James Beattie at rangers currently. Lost his way slightly with injuries the last season or two but looking for 1st team footy now. Our league is better than being stuck in Scotland.

Ewbanks-Blake is another.

Can anyone add to that list?

In my view it must be someone with experience not a lower league hopeful who may or mat not work for us.

Chief Commentator!
We could list all sorts of players but unlikely to come up with the same list as Thorn! More to the point, unless a club is willing to pay all their players wages, and not expect a fee, I cant see us getting anyone in even on loan! And no Prem clubs are going to release players without some sort of fee, whether this be a % of the players wage, or a loan fee!

Frees must be the only way we can work?

We still have to pay their wages... would you work for nothing? There will be no signings:

Frees we have to pay their wages
Loans we have to pay part of their wages, SISU are not prepared to payout anything
Buy see above

The 500k a month loss has been reduced. Fact.
SISU are prepared to fund the club this season. Fact.
We have made enquiries for other players recently.fact.

Loans are not all alike. depends on what the clubs can agree.

No reason to suspect we could not get someone in if we can find the right player and the right deal.

jus stating we can't, we have no money, pigs will fly first is getting tiresome.

I know the people in charge have been economic with the truth at time, but I do believe there is some money in the pot for wages and more importantly the will to use it.

All things being equal I pleased to see us being more careful with the money we have, we can't go back to the days of giving Doyle and Kyle 15K ish a week in wages.

I think the issue is the right play for the right money.

Not tiresome, but true, the clock is ticking...

Doyle was on 20k per week....

Absolutely no chance of getting ebanks-Blake.

And Doyle was not on £20k, more like 10k.

I'm sure that we were paying about 10k a week towards this wages whilst at he was on loan at Leeds.

It's a sorry, sorry day when Leeds are more financially astute than we are..

The best chance we have of signing anyone is part exchange deals... Only problem being we will have to try and dress players like Platt up as being decent League 2 strikers

Not big on rumours at all and take them with a large pinch of salt, but if the rumours are to be believed re the Ebanks-Blake saga, it was stated that we wanted him on loan but asked that Wolves pay ALL his wages.

So if that's true that tells you all you need to know!

There is no way Doyle was on 20k p/w
As for loans maybe

Benik Afobe
Sanchez Watt
Nile Ranger
Chris Martin
Stephen Dobbie
Andros Townsend
Leigh Griffiths
Sam Vokes
Andrew Keogh

There are some ok loan options out there if we look and the board give him the backing to do so.

Your right my mistake it was more like 25k for doyler....

Lets hope we are looking for somebody soon. I dont want to hit the 10 game mark without adding to the squad, that for me would be the writing on the wall.

You find Doyle was on 30k a week.

Think he's missed a 'not' out of there to be honest.

No transfers, no loans, simple as that. The only new player we are getting is Lee Carsley and one or two academy starlets. A business losing £500k a month, their words, and looking to off load us when it suits, ain't going to add to that £500k, would you ?

Yes they are enquiring about players that are out of their price bracket who are capable of comanding a fee !!!!!!!!
Which is a very good tactic if you purposely don't want to sign anyone !!!!!!

Im pretty sure there are other clubs throughout the leagues losing more than us who have no problem signing players with fees. Coventry City are a lot more attractive prospect to potential investors/buyers if we are a midtable team with some quality pushing for premiership football, not league makeweights like we currently are, staring the long drop in the face.

I dont think this was a serious comment / tongue in cheek

And shows how unrealistic it is for fans to expect us to bring players in. Atleast thats how I read it!
Your right :D but I on such a negative streak at the moment I seize upon anyone who dares to be positive. An win tomorrow could change everything

Absolutely no chance of getting ebanks-Blake.

And Doyle was not on £20k, more like 10k.

And so was King. But the club has also shed Osbourne, McIndoe, Westwood, Quirke, O'Halleran & Gunnarsson from the wage bill, but only brought in Murphy & Dunn.

That must be 25K/week down, still another 400K/month to go, apparently. :thinking about:

Good morning Paxo
It's my understanding that following our recent Transfer Embargo, there is now an internal Cash Embargo facing Manager Andy Thorn, Andy so it seems, has no cash to spend whatsoever, this even includes the odd loanee.
what is even more worrying is the concensus that future sales of our players, will yield little or no funds for new players, this is in sharp contrast to the recent assertions by C.E..Paul Clouting, that Andy Thorn would have the same Budget as Aidy Bothroyd, it appears even more disappointing, when we consider that the Salaries of Westwood, KIng and Gunnarson, have been removed from the balance sheet, without one penny piece being put into Andy Thorns pot.
I think its safe to say, for the short term, that no money will be made availiable for either,Signings, loanees, or otherwise, so it may just be that speculation about this player or that loanee, will not come to Fruition, as Sisu tightens the purse strings one more notch.

Good point Jack.
In our present financial state we can only probably be loseing about 250k a month with the players which have gone have freed up in wages. My best guess is.

King 10k a week
Carsley 8k
Westwood 5k
Gunnarson 5k
Osbourne 4k
Mcindoe 5k
O'halleran 5k
Quirke 3k

That is a saving 45k a week and I probably have under estimated.
