It's good that they're willing to speak to people, I think this is preferable to those fan forums that just end up like town hall meetings with people shouting over each other and rabble-rousing as you've got more chance of getting a point across in smaller numbers. I assume all the answers are flim-flam and hoojamaflip either way, mind you.

I'm giving this a like, partly because it makes some sense, but mostly because you managed to work in the word "hoojamaflip". Tremendous, I always wondered how it was spelt.

:)

Like I say we have moderators to police that. Also the majority of us should be able to tell the odd idiot to shut up.
Also do you really think his feelings will get hurt?

I don't think he'll be found crying under the covers, but any benefit would be lost in a wave of abuse and nonsense yes. It happens enough with Sisu apologists and bumboys or whatever, imagine having the real deal here. It'd be nice to think that people would be more interested in getting actual answers and shutting down mindless dissent, but I wouldn't put much faith in that happening.

I think he wants to do it over the phone or face to face so comments can't be recorded, jsut in case he says something he shouldn't. To be fair I can't knock the bloke so far but knock going to judge him totally until I meet him.

Can't knock him fo trying to put his point across. Don't agree with a lot of what he says and wish he would drop the slagging of the council and his "who did what" forum. Would love to hear a sensible way forward from him. The past is interesting, but I've heard enough for the time being and would welcome a frank chat about the future. As to the comment about the 'truth' and 'facts in black and white' I tend to take that as the judges do, with a pinch of salt. The same as with Joy generously agreeing to pay SISU's costs at the Higgs case - knowing full well that the judge would have made both sides pay their own costs ( as confirmed by the judge ).

So much to the truth.

If he ever comes to northern Germany he's welcome to drop by in my pub and have a chat about the way forward over a pint.

Also contacted the Fl:

"Lee,

Thank you for your email.

As you will be aware the current situation at Coventry City remains extremely complex. The Board of The Football League have received updates from the club and the situation continues to be closely monitored, with discussion ongoing regarding progress in returning the Club to the Coventry area.

You will understand that it is not always possible to make every detail of these meetings public, but as with all cases of clubs looking to move grounds, The League will continue to emphasise to the Club that supporters should be kept up to date as often as is practically possible.

Should you not have done so already we would advise you contact the club directly with your queries.

Thank you for contacting The Football League.

Regards,

Andrew Pomfret

Extremely complex.

They announced a year ago that they were buiding a new stadium within three years.

They haven't got land, finance or planning permission.

In other words, nothings happened.

Not very complex.

Also if as a fan all we have received from the club is an artists impression if a generic stadium
When can we go to FL to say. Actually no we are not regularly updated.
What will the FL then do.

Hi Andrew

You have recently replied to some Coventry fans saying the club should be regularly updating us regarding developments in our new stadium.

This stadium was promised to be built within three years. I assume one of the reasons you allowed the fans to be trampled over and the club to be moved to Northampton (despite a rent free over put to yourselves) via the management of the Ricoh. Was because you believe this stadium will be built.

We are one third of the way there. As far as update for the fans we have had a couple of generic artist impressions of a stadium. Is this what you would have considered good progress so far?

Also we have no land purchased and no planning permission.

Without going into the individual specifics of our club. What is the minimum progress you would have expected any club to have made in a year towards a building new stadium.

Also what updates do you think fans should be given?

Thanks

So what are you saying Nick ?
Do you want us all to stop using this forum which you make a living from ?
If that's the case just shut down the servers !

Make a living? I make my living by going to work every day.

By nothing better to do I meant by emailing and asking questions that you blatently won't get a reply you are happy with.

The FL aren't going to say "actually, you are right we had better chase this up", are they?

No they won't you are right,

it took all of a minute to write that email.
The more correspondence the FA get the better in my opinion.

My opinion is sending such correspondence may or may not have an affect.

Attending a protest may or may not have an affect

Attending Sixfields may or may not have an affect.

Whereas sitting on your arse and doing nothing, but scolding those who do will definitely not have affect.

Any reply is good. It is interesting to know other people's opinions as it help forming one's own view. That's why most people come on forums like this ( there are, of course, some who come on just to write such things as " council employeeeeeeeeeee!!! ).

So you are saying we are writing pointless things that will never be actioned upon Nick? Point of this forum then? Its full of opinions and people wanting to have their say. If we all sit on our arses we will never get our club back, we probably won't either way but the more fuss we kick up the better imo, plus it also makes me feel better. If the FL don't receive any correspondence from us at all what are they going to think? Probably that us fans are not arsed, leaving them with taking the easy option and going along with whatever SISU's next step is.

I also got a few answers from Fisher and Mark which I didn't expect, FL may reply to one of us with some more useful information.

I thought that was called boycotting? ;) You've just described Spion's plan down to a T.

If it makes you feel better then fair play. :)

From the pointless email. I now know if it gets to three years with the same progress the league will not extend the 2 years and expulsion from the league is the most realistic outcome.

Maybe that was known by most before, but for me it wasn't. I feel my minutes work was not wasted :)

So what you're saying is we should stop putting pressure on all the parties involved.

Someone PM Rob S and tell him to call the election campaign off. We're all wasting our time apparently.

If the club would go bust in two years at the Ricoh under a rental deal, with crowds of (say) 10,000 plus, then how are they going to survive at Northampton with 2,000 or less....

So if CCFC would be bust inside two years playing at the Ricoh with a minimum of 10k fans. How long would it take CCFC to go bust at Sixfields with 1.5k fans ??????

Just got in, sorry to resurrect something that was said a few hours ago and probably done to death by now, but this was the first thing I thought when reading ML's reply to Lee. Couldn't agree more lads, and more to the point, how many friggin' burgers and pints does ML think we're going to get down us? Enough to pay for his new stadium???

Speaking of which Tony, anybody live in Holbrook Ward where Brian Patton is fighting? Has there been any posters put up, door knocking, public meetings to get his message across?

Hardly the majority even by the stretch of your imagination. Besides what does that have to do with my reply bitter lemon?

Bitter lemon is just fucking fantastic mate. You have a knack for getting to the nub of the problem and plain speaking. You're my type of guy.

Have a look at one of Rob S's threads. Are you saying that the majority are encouraging his plan of action?

Sort of the point of my original reply on this thread. Too much negativity towards people making an effort to engage whatever person or group. So what if they're doomed for failure, at least they're trying and why should any party be let of the hook. The problem is not the people emailing the FL, the problem is that not enough of us are doing it.

The majority of replies on Robs thread may well be negative (you might have time to do a count, I don't) but it's not the majority of posters on this sight by any stretch.

So if the majority of replies on a thread are negative it doesn't mean that the majority of posters are against the post? Righty-ho. Do the majority of posters not post then? You are unbelievably stupid.

Yeah because I said the majority of posters were abusive to Rob. Good one.

Oh the irony.

So you insult people and even insult someone whilst complaining about someone getting insulted :D
