It is odd to say the least that there is currently so much happiness on this forum with regards to the JR. It seems that some believe that a victory for CCC is also a victory for the fans. Is someone able to explain why this is the case? Why does a SISU defeat suddenly increase their chances of selling onto someone else?

We are no better off that before, yet there is open celebration. We are just another step towards the club not existing and some are happy?

I'm celebrating the fact that the enemy of the people of Coventry and of Coventry City football club havn't prospered. weather this is good for the club we currently have no idea but you can bet your ass I'm pleased that the Villains haven't succeeded and that our tax isn't being given to sisu as compensation for the losses they brought on themselves by moving out of the city.

I don't like to see scumbaggery rewarded and thats the reason I'm pleased about the result. I'm pleased as a decent human being and not as a Coventry fan. As a Coventry fan there hasn't been anything to be pleased about in the last 18 months,

I'm happy about it... I feel that the council represents Coventry much better than the football team these days. I'd love for the club to be back in Coventry, but the current owners seem intent on increasingly turning the club into a basket case rather than following any obvious business logic. I'm sure that if they had any interests in running a successful football club they'd have taken a different course of action so I suspect that it's a case of Ricoh or bust. And it's surely looking more like bust for them right now - it might mean even more pain in the short-term but if they've gone at least we'll end up back in Coventry in some league or other.

Some reference the damage that has been done by SISU to the Club, the fans and the City of Coventry. That's not celebrating, that's observing

Some ridicule the Strategy SISU are following and say they struggle to follow the business logic behind it. That's not celebrating, that,s critiquing the information

However most of us aren't prepared to see innocent local people have their reputations ruined by sisu lies.

Some of the things said by sisu about CCC are scandalous, and I for one am please that these lies have been shown for what they are.

But you consistently fail to recognise that it is SISU that refuse to compromise and make concessions. Just read the bull that Fisher came out with and view his interview on BBC. It may be that you are correct, that without that compromise CCFC are up shit creak.

I don't know about the celebrating part but there's no denying that losing the JR is one less reason for them to hang around and I defy anybody to explain how them sticking around would be constructive for the club.

What CCFC was paying was too much, no doubt about that. But what concerns me is that SISU could have had access to 50% of the benefits of ACL profits and could have worked to reverse the contracts with existing lease holders. They didn't, they tried to play hard boys to get the RICOH and associated benefits for not very much and it backfired.

OK as the Judge said, that's Plan A gone, where the hell is plan B?

I'd probably put myself in that camp.

I'm not celebrating - but I am hopeful that if this part of SISU's strategy fails we might see some movement to a proper negotiation between all of the parties, ideally done whilst CCFC take up a short-term rental for the club. Now that would be grounds for celebration, I'd say.

It seems that anyone who doesn't support CCC/ACL is seen as supporting SISU. It makes no sense at all.

With such strange attitudes amongst our fans, it's easy to see why they never questioned a hedge fund owning the club and were once proud of the 'hard nosed' business people.

So when are sisu going to make concessions? The only movement we've seen on their part is from the rent being to high to match day revenues to the freehold or I'll pull the plug on the club and off course the idiotic I'll bite my nose of to spite my face and fuck everybody else move to suxfields. Or were you talking about some actual concessions on sisu's behalf?

I am celebrating, specifically for the reasons you list. Have got a bottle of decent champagne to share with the mrs tonight! (only saw JR verdict this lunchtime as was abroad).

Also, anything that hurts SISU and their cause is likely to speed up the arrival of the day they leave, which is crucial for the rebuilding the club.

I agree, plus probably a sense of relief as the consequences of the opposite verdict would have been so distasteful. I doubt it brings resolution any nearer as Sisu still seem hell-bent on confrontation but I still feel better.

I think there has been a bigger reaction from Fisher refusing the plan to bring CCFC back to the Ricoh with whoever else paying the rent, which to me says they either want control of ACL, they still think there is room to negotiate a deal, or there is something really amiss such as the club is about to fold.

Aside from moral arguments regarding contracts and law etc. and the fact that (like it or not) the taxpayer is invested in ACL, the way that SISU deal or don't deal with ACL should be of huge interest to any fan of CCFC. It's because it's key to playing football in the city. It also patently brings in more money to the club being at the Ricoh than being stuck out in Northampton.

Put bluntly, trying to screw over ACL is the reason for the JR, it's why SISU moved us to Northampton, and it's the reason that we're still there. Whether you like ACL/CCC or not, why anyone would back such a disastrous tactic from our owners is beyond me. I could just as well ask why you'd support this approach from our owners over the general well-being of the club.

Who knows what kind of concessions might be on offer if SISU decide to talk to ACL. But I'm guessing they're going to offer a bit less than £1.2m p.a. over 40 years, so there's a pretty big concession right there.

Fwiw I'd like ACL to offer an unambiguous, cheap, short-term deal, and then all parties can negotiate honestly for the rest (or failing that build a new stadium) whilst the club is back in the city. That would seem to me to be enough of a concession in the short-term to move on from this madness, but it could be that you and our owners differ.

It is a victory for the fans in most fans eyes. That's why most fans are happy.

Spot on. How in earth can anyone serious expect the owners of a business to pay for another business than quadruples in value purely due to them.

No one will do it. Ultimately both sides will die off.
