Callum Wilson has taken a dramatic step closer to leaving Coventry City after being given permission to speak to two clubs.
The Telegraph understands that the Sky Blues have received bids of over £3million – believed to be from Bournemouth and Norwich City –
for the star striker who has also attracted interest from Brentford and Wolves.
That figure was enough to trigger the debate as to whether it was time to cash in on the
22-goal speed merchant or retain his services for at least another year.
The club are also up against the fact that the 22-year-old Cov Kid is facing a life-changing increase in wages, which could easily triple, as well as the prospect of retaining an unhappy player once his head has been turned.
Wilson and his representative are understood to be in discussions with two clubs who now have to convince him which is the better option in terms of his development.
