It makes me laugh, that many fans have accepted that selling yet another young player is good business - I could probably understand a little if they had sold him to Liverpool, Man-Utd, or spurs, but no the mighty Bournemouth with massive crowds of 7,000 - 8,000 in the championship and these crowds are when they are doing well - actually shows how far we have dropped when teams like Bournemouth, a club in administration in 2008 are attracting our players, but good luck to them as they are obviously have been steered very well -

A club who have just got 9 million pounds off transfers, a club that play in the league above us, the club that have an owner with alot of money! A few yrs bk id have said the same about, Hull, Reading, Swansea, Cardiff,Burnley etc but they were bought at a good time by someone who had an ambition to get them to the prem!

It does show that but also shows with the right set up anything is possible! Thats why we need to make sure we are back at the Ricoh this season, with the right agreement! Something we haven't had since we moved to the stadium!

Callum wanted to go, and 2-3 million for a player that has had one good season in league one is good business. It's a league that has seen Leon Clarke, David Mooney and Joe Garner all score plenty in last season, even though they've failed to produce at the level above, so it makes even more sense for us to take the money. Personally I have my doubts as to whether he can do it in the Championship

Bournemouth are in a far better posistion than us on and off the pitch and it shows how far We've fallen but times have changed,The reality is were no longer the ex prem sleeping giant were a league one club with massive off the feild problems. People say its the wrong move for callum but I think its the move he needs somewhere he can play regular football and carry on progressing with a club going in the right direction

Hasn't the club changed in such a short time. When players prefer coming here to a supposedly "big" club, we must be doing something right.

Crowds of 7-8000 in a stadium that only holds 12000. How much were we getting in our last season in the champ in a stadium that holds 32000?

Bournemouth have money, are financially secure and have a bright future currently. Are we so ignorant to think that moving to a club like this isn't a step in the right direction? Nobody, NOBODY, likes losing their best players, but if you are then the deal we got yesterday was very good and softens that blow.

By the way, 10-15 years ago you'd have been saying the same thing about Wigan, Fulham, Blackpool, Reading etc. it happens in football, a lot. People need to get off their high horses and have a reality check of where we are currently.

Agree with the posters above in that yes, Bournemouth have had some windfalls and been well managed recently... BUT... we are Coventry City... we shouldn't be selling our best players to feckin Bournemouth...where where they during our 34 years in the top flight??/

If our club were run properly we wouldn't be losing our top scorer to Bournemouth, wouldn't be in League 1 and wouldn't have spent a season at Northampton in front of a few thousand. All self inflicted which makes it all the more frustrating.

This is the 100% reality check -There are a number of willing people with plenty of money waiting in the wings (fact) to invest in a city that can attract 32,000 every week in the premiership - with the right investment and back at the Ricoh could happen in 3 to 4 years as we already have the fan base unlike your Bournemouth,Wigans etc - what is stopping this is that the present owners rightly or wrongly do not want to walk away - so that is how it will stay till they change there mind - returning to the Ricoh is a massive step in the right direction but without the investment you will still have the issue with 12,000 crowds and your best players leaving even back at the Rioch - any hint of success in this city attracts large crowds 32,000 ie Crewe in the Micky mouse cup - this is fact and reality

Well currently that's all conjecture and we are where we are. If it happens and we suddenly become a well run team with money, moving up the leagues then your original position is justified. Bringing this in to it does nothing to change the stance because currently (this isn't meant to be offensive to yourself) it's just fantasy.

They averaged just under 10k last season. We averaged 15118 in our last season in the championship, having said that we had hover attendances than 9 other teams yet had one of the lowest 3-4 turnovers in the league.

With such a small stadium they can set higher ticket prices. Their season ticket prices are much higher than ours, even back in the championship

That's still the point though isn't it? You still wouldn't be seeing many empty seats in that stadium whereas with the Ricoh...

Whatever the argument, Bournemouth are the league above us, higher profile than us currently. If you'd like to play in the prem eventually then where would you play to put yourself in the window?

I'm also hoping there's a decent size sell on fee.

Actually thinking about it. How the hell did they get around FFP? Spent £20m+ on a £5m turnover to get promoted from league one? A wage bill 213% of their turnover.

Yeah, because the football league are such strict disciplinarians of such a blatant disregard of the rules! And I don't think it was completely in effect then anyway? I could be wrong.

Pretty sure they put Swindon in a transfer embargo that season after the tribunal decision for fees for Collins plus a.n.other

Yeah, they did get an embargo. But that wasn't to do with ffp was it? Like you say, it was to do with payments for players and from what I remember, there was some sort of takeover going on?

I think stadium size and crowd size is irrelevant. It's more about the level that the club play at. AS Monaco play in a stadium with a capacity of only about 18,000 but have a squad which includes Falcao and Rodriguez, who has been the best player at the world cup, and are playing in the Champions League next year.

People need a reality check. In 1974 we were "bigger" than Manchester United. In the pre was era Huddersfield were giants and we were minnows.
In the clubs 130 year history if has only spent 25% in the top flight.
Its just a position in time.

A position that could and should be a lot different if the team side of things were run better and if it was would make a few bob for our investors
