You miserable twats, this is potentially a fantastic step in the right direction..even the language is more concillatory. We are coming home boys.
Only if ACL agree to have talks.

There is no mention of the JR appeal. Part of the deal to be reviewed?
A counter statement from ACL saying they will discuss deal prior to FL decision would have me more optimistic than in a long, long while.
Please sort this so I can take my young son up to the Ricoh next year. Otherwise I might lose him to Pompey!
Here's our report with a bit more background included: http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/coventry-city-owners-issue-new-7470493
Crucially: "The club previously confirmed it will not drop its legal action as requested by ACL - which means Sky Blues fans will potentially have to wait even longer for any negotiations to begin while the appeal process runs its course."

The way I see it Simon is that is ACLs problem to deal with. I don't see why it has to be dependent if they really are the good guys as everyone thinks.
We need a public meeting with both sides to explain why we have to wait.
For all we know the "proposal" sisu have lined up is to drop the appeal? I think this was implied in the letter just not in a direct way.
I didn't say it was the ideal stance. Simply underlining where we are in the process. The way I see it Simon is that is ACLs problem to deal with. I don't see why it has to be dependent if they really are the good guys as everyone thinks.

Yet more Seppala/Fisher waffle.
First a statement on the eve of the sky blue trust sponsored march, now a statement on the eve of a sky blues trust "boycott" vote.
SISU are desperate and cannot be trusted.
I want the City to come home as much as anyone else, until SISU self evicted, I had held a season ticket for 25 consecutive seasons.
All SISU have to do is pay what they owe, drop their appeal and I am sure sensible negotiations can take place.
Leopards do not change their spots....
Until then NOPM.
PUSB
Guys stop it.
The message is clear and there is no messing around here imo of course.
This isn't a diversion tactic to the fl or more spin.
To me its a clear concession to wanting a deal to come back and its obvious. Sisu have no reason of obligation to put out these letters. The message from sisu is loud and clear. We want back to the ricoh asap.
P.s look at the language used. there is no silly remarks and/or blame game tactics. The words like interim and proposal indicates this is serious and has no suggestion of the bs they normally produce.

Seen as were dealing with people who have had certain issues regarding the truthfulness of their statements before, I am cautious about seeing this as a positive statement.
I see this more as an attempt to paint ACL as the bad guys.
"We are happy to pay any amount owed". The amount owed is £590k, that is where we are. So why not pay it?
ACL need to call their bluff here. Agree to meet with them to discuss in principle a new deal. But make it crystal clear from the start that they wont be allowed to set foot into the Ricoh until they pay the £590k and stop harassing the Coventry taxpayer.
They could pay the 590k and the proposal im convinced they have is to drop the JR. This is the reason it is not mentioned directly in the letter.
If I was ACL directors I would hear them out as what could they lose?
Sisu's proposal could be drop the JR for a deal of some sort?
Can not help feel that the fans are being played - hope I am wrong
The language is more concillatory certainly. But what does it actually say that is new? What is actually changed other than the language on a statement.
- Nothing will happen before the 7th
- the Football League has not made a decision
- The appeal, which like it or not if you were ACL is a valid pre condition to discussions, has not been dropped. I would suspect that the leave to appeal papers have been presented and await the judges decision. If leave not given who here believes that such action will stop at that point? I think there will be further court actions. The result of that is more time effort and money being drained from ACL - in their shoes would you really drop the precondition? Especially for a short term rent deal while SISU/CCFC build their own stadium?

What the statement screams to me is... 'we don't have to wait until 7th Aug if ACL will talk now'
Unless you've seen the agreement in writing from the football league you don't know the conditions set.
If the league decide its £290,000 due to the agreed criteria for payment that's the amount owed.
There Is a reason It's August the 7th,the timetable has been chosen .
A public meeting is the LAST thing we want
There is one simple concession to be made on each side.
SISU have to drop the appeal
ACL have to accept that the money is with the FL and it is their call when and how much they get
No reason at all for talks not to be happening.
The league presented Otium with the Golden Share on the condition that they pay ACL £590k by 31/05/2014. That has never been disputed by anyone. If you have evidence to the contrary then post it so we can all see it.
Therefore as it stands today, Otium haven't fulfilled and are in breach of the conditions set down by the FL.
