Bit of a touchy subject with me Bazza. I'm Irish - Southern.
England...& more latterly Britain have historically marauded their way around the world, fighting spears with guns initially, & it snow-balled from there.
I was however, empathising with the Palestinian's situation - NOT Hamas' way of dealing with it. Israel are powerful & love to kick-ass. Hamas, if they had got nukes before Israel did, wouldn't have hesitated in nuking Israel out of existence. Israel are at least responsible with them (so far)
IMO as per usual it's the same old situation as every other conflict - those that suffer most are the same people that gain the least when all the fighting is done. So I feel equally sorry for the Israeli people encouraged to settle in the buffer zone that get repeatedly attacked.
Let's face it - 99% of the world wants & can live in peaceful co-existence. The love of money & power (often disguised through the name of religion) is the root of most evil that occurs.
In the ancient times peoples were wiped-out so there was rarely any comeback. Since peace treaties came about little factions have always seemingly sprang up & carried on the fight usually when it's far far too late. Then they're labelled terrorists.
The Crusaders...Vikings...Romans...All have terrorised communities in seek of wealth.
Hence it appears to me at least exactly as I called it...unpalatable, unpleasant as it might be - natural progression
