Looks bad, but do we have to register players u21? and we can have maximum of 25 players registered for the season?

Can have as many as we like, it's not like the premier league where you can have only 25 registered and players don't have to register to play. I think the squad data posted above just tells you how many of our players have squad numbers for the upcoming season.

And ours is 20 not 19.

Isnt the point of this getting lost?

The point is not whether these free signings, who most of us have not seen play more than a couple of times at most, are good or bad, but that we have lost players who were proven to be able to score more than 50 goals between them, we have got their wages off the clubs costs, we have got a few million in transfers fees into our coffers, but that the major part of that money does not seem to be being reinvested in our playing staff.

If building a team from frees was easy, everyone would be doing it. The money we have got from sales should mean we can compete for players which clubs with no money cant. If we are only getting freebies, we are competing with everyone. We could be using that cash to make things easier for ourselves but we dont seem to be doing that.

I dont claim to speak for anyone else than me, but my frustration is that the money has been taken from the playing side and will be used for non-playing costs. While buying a player doesnt guarantee success, it should increase the chance of it. Getting Lewandowski is not a gamble, he has a proven record behind him. How many of our freebies can we say that about? How many of those who have gone could we say that about, at least at L1 level.

Is the squad better than it was? Is the aim of the owners to improve our squad on the field, or to cut costs and sell any assets?

Before it's asked 6 of ours are (Thomas, Phillips, Haynes, Finch, Lawton, Willis) Though Burge and Daniels are only 21 and Fleck and Clarke 22.

Thanks but going back to ccfcway's post - G Thomas, Maddison and Urquart haven't been given squad numbers or registered so not part of that 17, so we only have 7 aged 20 or under in our squad, compared to Colchester's 15/16.

Silly me. Misread Daniels birth year as 1993.

As Stu said, the others aren't "in our squad" for the purposes of this count.
