I like Barton too. Definitely has the talent. Under Robins when we beat Doncaster 4-1 away he was fantastic. Unfortunately looks like SP has already made his decision and he'll be off.

I'm not so sure. I think Pressley said this season he wanted our defence to be tighter, and wing backs wouldn't get forward as much (might have dreamt that) so I'd expect 442 to be plan A and this system be our back up.

These things Need to be worked on to smaller sure when we switch the formation for a game or during a game we don't go to prices,that's why we have worked on it so much in pre-season !!! #PUSB !!!

Certainly sounds encouraging. I think one or two of the young lads might really come good this year - Madison sounds like he has really impressed. In fairness to Daniels last year he was thrust into the 1st team fold too early and probably surpassed expectations to begin with then fell out of form. I still think he could be a decent player for us.

I think we did vs Nuneaton and maybe once or twice in Italy, we're getting close to the season now and Pressley has played 352 in the last 3 fixtures which would indicate it is plan A at the moment. I guess we may get a better idea tomorrow

Barton has good technique but is lacking. Technique can only take you so far, and to be fair to SP, Barton rarely played for Robins either.
However most players will have 1 fantastic game, then contrast that with his performance vs Walsall away the very same season...

So, the new lads look to have settled in. Speaking over the four friendlies I've seen I'd say;
Allsopp - probably looks more comfortable than Burge (does have more competitive games under his belt I guess), but maybe not as vocal, or maybe just quieter. Should have done better with today's goal, but then again Burge should have done better with the Nuneaton one. Difficult to call who will be number one this season although I think Allsopp will get the nod.
Johnson - Not seen much of him due to injury and international duty but is a commanding presence and I think will do well for us
Swanson - looked good although unfit early on, but today he never stopped running, tracking back to defend or cover the defence. Like the look of him. Seems like he's been set up to play behind the front two, but tracks back and offers an option to the left wing back
O'Brien - not seen anything exciting from him yet, but will give him time to settle in. Expect to see more of him over the 90 he should get tomorrow
Tudgay - offers us something we need. Has height, although seems to like to play football rather than being a target man. I liked him before we signed him so hopeful it works out well for him
Miller - like the look of him, likes to get involved. Again seems to prefer to play football and seems to always like to find space.
Mo - well I can't say I've even seen him yet let alone seen him play

A young Coventry City side picked up a win in their penultimate friendly of pre-season with a 2-1 come-from-behind win against Bristol Rovers at the Memorial Stadium.
Andy Monkhouse gave the home side the lead four minutes before half time but a superb equaliser from Danny Swanson and a powerful header from Aaron Phillips in three second half minutes were enough to turn the game on its head.
Sky Blues boss Steven Pressley's took a relatively young side to Bristol but what his starting line-up lacked in age they made up for in endeavour as they matched the Gas and created more of the chances in the first half.
The tie started in calm fashion and it was not until the 18th minute that a shot was registered on target when Adam Barton's free kick effort from 25 yards went straight into the hands of Steve Mildenhall.
The Rovers 'keeper was required again two minutes later when George Thomas intercepted a pass deep in the opposition half although his tame shot from the edge of the area went straight to the 'keeper.
City had a scare on 24 minutes though when a lofted cross from Ollie Clarke picked out Stuart Sinclair who generated some power with his head and fiorced Ryan Allsop to palm the ball onto his post.
It was the Sky Blues though who were enjoying the majority of the creative play, highlighted when a great piece of interplay between Danny Swanson and James Maddison allowed the former to fire just wide.
Billy Daniels went close after 30 minutes though when he bombed down the right to receive a ball on the overlap from Swanson, his shot saved by Mildenhall which nearly looped into the net only to be headed off the line by Mark McChrystal.
Rovers' Matt Taylor did look disappointed with himself three minutes after the half hour when he got down the left and drew Allsop off his line but could not steer home from a tight angle.
James Maddison responded at the the other end with an effort from the edge of the area which skimmed the foot of the post but it was Daniels again who went inches away from an opener when he burst through the midfield and fired from 20 yards, his effort rattling the crossbar.
It was the hosts that broke the deadlock though after 41 minutes through Monkhouse whose shot was parried by Allsop only for him to be quick on the follow up to stab home.
The second half began much in the same manner as the first as both sides restarted at a calm pace but Rovers nearly grabbed a second a minute before the hour when substitute Jamie White nearly finished off a fine flowing move by smacking the inside of the near post with Allsop beaten.
Almost immediately after though the Sky Blues had a great chance to level when George Thomas found himself through on goal although the 17-year-old lifted his attempted finish over the bar.
The Sky Blues got the leveller they deserved after 65 minutes though and in superb style when Danny Swanson picked up a ball 20 yards out and curled a finish around and over Mildenhall and into the top corner.

"The boys played without fear. They trusted each other and handled the ball under pressure," he added.
"I must say though that I was delighted with the attitude of Adam Barton who has been out in the cold a bit but his attitude towards playing the game tonight was first class and we also got a really good look at just how good Danny Swanson is.
"He is an unbelievable talent, a truly gifted footballer and I'm really excited by him so all in all a really good night."

SISU when January comes and been fitter than everyone but full of injuries runs out of steam due to threadbare squad again.
This is when you as owners step up to the plate. This is when if we are either in or are in-touching distance of the play offs or automatic spots. Get us 6-7 loans not one or two and trust your manager, to keep going with his fitness over skill or experience mentality and it will work....
January is time when you have failed us for 6 seasons now.

Coventry City midfielder Danny Swanson has lauded City's style of play after a 2-1 win over Bristol Rovers at the Memorial Stadium.
The 26-year old scored his first goal for the Sky Blues since his summer move to the club following the expiration of his contract at Peterborough United.
City fell behind at the Memorial Stadium thanks to Matty Taylor's first-half strike but Swanson's 25-yard curler and Aaron Phillips' powerful header in the second-half secured victory for the young Sky Blues.
Having recorded two wins out of the three games this week, Swanson has praised the performance against the Gas and reveals he has been 'blown away' by the quality of football at City.
The City midfielder said: "I'm very happy with the result. It was a bit disappointing to be behind at the break but the way we played in the second half was brilliant.
"It was a young side and it just shows the quality of players the club have. It was enjoyable to play in.
"When they've asked me what it is like here, I've been saying to my friends back home that I've been totally blown away by the football this club plays.
"Peterborough were known to play good football but the squad here are really teaching me how to play. The quality has just been outstanding."
The Sky Blues face Stevenage tomorrow in their final pre-season game ahead of the start of the 2014/15 League One against Bradford City.
With a different City XI set to play tomorrow, Swanson hopes he has done enough to seal a starting spot at Valley Parade.
He added: "It is a new formation to me so I've had to work hard to get used to it. The gaffer spoke to me today and said I need to work on my defensive play. Hopefully, I did that tonight.
"I think I've done OK in pre-season. I've not been used to the amount of hard work you've got to put in off-the-ball but I think I've adapted quite well.
"The aim is to get into the starting XI against Bradford City and I'm hoping I've done enough to earn a place in the team."

It was a fantastic day.. The game itself was very good and our conference opposition was a good test for our young XI on the night.
I personally though Ryan Haynes was fantastic throughout the whole game, Adam Barton (who I hear is in talks with another Club) was excellent last night, Billy Daniels showed good promise going forward from Midfield, George Thomas worked tirelessly for the cause and James Maddison looks a fantastic little player - maybe could of scored on occasion if he had taken the shot on instead of trying to cut back inside but that'll come with experience on the pitch - and I am sure James has a bright future.
Fair play to the 119 City fans that travelled to Rovers last night.
I even caught up with one familiar face.
