Not sure if I've posted these before but I've got tons of old CCFC stuff going back to the beginning of the 20th Century, collected by myself and my Dad over the years. The images below are from the 1919/20 handbook, first season after the War and it lists those City players who died. Thought it might be interesting for you folks to see, especially with the anniversary this week.

Great to have some stuff like that Torchy, linking the generations. If nothing else, it shows that the one constant at the club is the fans, and how closely they hold it to their hearts.

When it's time to pass it on, you've got to make the lad promise not to sell it to fund a weekender in Magaluf or something daft like that! Part of your history this mate, not just the club's. :)

Jim Brown and the Former Players' Association would be very interested to see this and publicise it, I would have thought.

Surprised there was never a plaque at HR for these.

Why does it list the great war as being 1914-1919. It ended in 1918 didn't it?

Thanks for posting that Torch.

If we get back home perhaps a plaque like Big Ron mentions would be a nice gesture and something that the SCG and SBT could put forward.

Given how the city also suffered in WW2 greatly there is a definite case for some memorial for those that lost their lives in war that were connected to the club.

The fighting stopped in 1918 but that was really just a ceasefire. The war officially ended at the signing of the treaty of Versailles in 1919.

Christ, it's difficult to imagine my little lad doing anything like that, Duffer. But, you're right. He won't get his hands on any of it!
