Pressley - on the edge? (7 Viewers)

There seemed to be a simmering resentment against him at the phone in tonight. He seems to be in danger of being lumped in with Sepella fisher etc. and be held accountable for off field woes.

Unfair in my view. He is the perfect choice in this most adverse of situations - upbeat, single minded and focused. We should appreciate he is here - worrying times.

I didn't read it like that G, thought there was some criticism of maybe his recruitment history but I don't think anyone sees him as team Sisu.

I thought there was an undercurrent. Normally the manager has an easy ride - I didn't pick that at all.

It was only one really ,Mr chambers replied at the end and Congratulated SP on his work, but had to ask the question as It was one a lot of city fans would ask .

Paul from Warwick was the one who let his view of the owners seep through.

IMO they are a massive let down to let him sit there and take some of It.

I'm amazed he's so Loyal to them,he kept the Heat right off them for Six months last season ,and they left him with nothing as reward for the second part of the season, that Is where the heat has come on him.

I think he squirms a bit when asked about things like the new stadium, he has to tow the party line but you can hear his discomfort. Thought the criticism tonight though was of him personally and he handled it OK.

Isn't it normally dribblers and window lickers who call/text in?
I usually file it under djsuagrbekghrf

I couldn't agree more Grendel. SP is doing a great job under the most difficult of circumstances. We should be thankful that he's had the mental strength to stay positive. It can't have been easy for him.

He is'nt towing the party line but saying from the heart, what he hopes and believes IMHO

Personally I think he is a great manager but I also think he tows the line to much and that leads to him lying to us and telling us things he surely can't believe. I don't like that at all. We are still lucky to have him though and it seems very possible we'd be in a much worse state without him, quite possibly in league 2.

I sympathise with his position though, I just wish he wouldn't blow quite so much smoke up our arses.

He is towing the party line - as any main employee must. He is a good choice and fisher and Waggot have done their homework. Many managers would walk or use the situation as an excuse. He fronts up in an intelligent and articulate way - but he is on the same page as fisher and I believe for many fans that will become an Achillis for him.

If anything there may be a little bit of.. Person on the front desk who gets all the shit because they can't get at anyone else.. going on but he's big enough to cope. Ultimately, it depends on performance. Win and they'll forgive anything, lose and hes a sisu whore.

We finished last season extremely poorly, if we have a slow start this season then I can see some turning on him.

Some Coventry fans have never been the brightest so if they are beginning to turn on Pressley it merely confirms the regard I hold the cretins in anyway.

Agreed - in the same way they stuck by thorn thinking he was "one of them" when the opposite was very much the case - regardless of the fact he was a managerial car crash.

"he wasnt good enough. He moved to Bury, they got rid of him, and bizarelly, some cov fans wanted him back"

surely thats what he should have said about the edge ?

This cannot be happening Grendel, I agree with you yet again!
You are correct, he is our only hope, amidst all the mediocrity above him at Coventry City. SP is a high class person, a man of integrity and honour. While he is at our club, there will always be hope.

Not fronting anything up, it's what he believes.

If you don't believe me, listen again!

So can SP & his staff, support from me, HOME & AWAY.

I agree Grendel,
SP is a good choice in our situation. CCFC desperately need some continuity in the management of the team. We need to get back to developing our own players. Either from our youth team or other people's rejects.

SP seems to have a vision, determination and a sense of the clubs history. He also doesn't just come out with the clichéd crap a lot of managers do.

I hope people appreciate what he is trying to achieve under considerable restraints and I don't see the SISU muppets bringing us home soon.

Best of luck SP, staff and players.

YES, YES, YES & YES. You may think I'm deluded but I personally don't care.

Know a lot but regrettably can't say ...

Regrettably, called confidentiality ( and if you offered me a fortune, still would'nt divulge ).

It's a question of honesty & integrity.

Keep your gob shut then, if you believe in confidentiality you wouldn't even hint that you know.

And there was me thinking you were just an arse. And yet you must be honest and know a lot, for you told me so yourself.

Please yourself, I don't care.

Nothing in life should be feared, only understood.

We're back to that old chestnut are we "I know but I can't say" pretty much like we are in for a shock come the JR something else you had inside info on.

Let's be honest RFC so far you've got sweet FA right, you've gotta be right at least once though so keep throwing it out there sunshine one day you'll be able to give it the "told you so" line

Like you couldn't say regarding the JR. Remind us again, which side were going to win, what was the smoking gun?
Deluded? I'm afraid, in your case, it is sadly, rather worse than that RFC.
Please don't treat us all like idiots, there will be no new stadium, how do I know this?
Common sense, and sisu's history tells me.

That's pretty offensive and do you think I really care?

Honesty & integrity, perhaps you just don't understand?

That's obviously the case, take care and have a great evening.
