Financial Stability (6 Viewers)

If we agree a nominal rent for the ricoh with a profit sharing agreement for food & beverage along with our dramatically reduced wage bill have SISU made us a viable football club?
With our fan base, stadium and academy we are a big enough club to escape league 1 and establish ourselves in the championship.
Could sisu have set us up for long term sustainability and extracted us from the poor decisions of the past?

Expecting a barrage of abuse for this post given how tough the last few years have been under Joy and her boys but could the future look rosier?

Let's wait and see what actually happens before discussing ifs and buts.

Oh wait, I forgot where I was for a second. Fire away.

Many might expect me to jump over your offering like a tramp with a bag of chips; but I won't. I can see where you're coming from.

All I've ever wanted is financial stability, and a football club that's not lurching from one disaster to another. I've just had profound issues with the way our current owners went about achieving their end game.

The 'best' scenario was negotiation via consensus with ACL/CCC; and ownership/partial ownership of the Arena and all of the revenues it commands. That would have been immense. They blew that....

We are where we are, and at last - I hope - there's a chance we can build properly from this horribly low position

Well we've decimated sponsorship, ticket revenue and merchandise, probably for several years after any return.

This squad would require massive investment if we weren't going to come back down again. So I'm not sure. We're a better League One club than we were a Championship club if that's what you mean?

Financially, we probably won't see the benefit in our lifetime.

It's a fair point, if we got promoted back to the championship with lots of good players from the academy and a significantly reduced wage bill and agree a long term deal at the Ricoh then it could be argued that we are in a better position than the years leading up to relegation.

I'm unsure that we can get to that position with SISU in chare, it's becoming harder and harder for a club to get out of league 1 with more teams now splashing the cash at league 1 level. Reportedly Darius Henderson is on 12k a week at Leyton Orient, Fleetwood have signed Steven Dobbie who is reportedly on 5k+ a week Sheffield Utd have cash behind them, Peterborough will continue to spend the money whilst raking it in

Exactly the proposed scenario requires a lot of luck and it isn't as easy as the OP makes it sound, it requires us to do a lot of things that we haven't been able to do.

I could as easily say if we get back to back promotions in the next two years will SISU have been justified in their actions.

Ok then.

Yes we will be in a better position
No we won't be in a better position
We will be in the same position

All bases covered thanks to my source.

SISU SOLD the rights to food and beverages ! Why should they get it back for free !!! Another situation they have created themselves !!! :blue::blue::blue::blue::blue::blue::blue::blue::blue::blue::blue::blue::blue::blue::blue::blue::blue::blue::blue::blue::blue::blue::blue::blue::blue::blue::blue::blue:

Correct Nick
CCFC sold them, so CCFC should buy them back

If they don't would you prefer ACL and compass to get zero revenue in an empty stadium and the club to stay in Northampton?

They will not buy them - take your choice.

And ACL will not give them away.

So, where do you want us to play while we build a new ground?

I doubt history will judge Sisu's tenure too kindly. They could have always negotiated a decent deal and owned half of the ground (maybe more) if they'd just behaved normally. They still could, but I'm not holding my breath as decency, honesty and civility doesn't seem to be in their DNA.

Shouldn't people be calling for them to be given away then, if it's a barrier stopping us from coming back?

Being very simple the only people who control the outcome of the food and beverage are the fans, when you go don't buy anything a few weeks of them paying wages and cooking things and wasting it maybe they will want to share the profits. I never bought a thing there as the club did not get a share and I am too tight!

I laugh every time I see the promotion word mentioned this squad has no chance of being promoted and possibly the weakest squad we have ever had has to battle the history of no top six finishes in the last how many years.

I'm surprised you care so much about ACL and compass's income - are you turning ?
You say They will not buy them as if it is a fact-it is your opinion only...unless Joy has told you otherwise.
It was Joy's decision to remove CCFC from the city of Coventry and dump them in Northampton, so it's now Joy's problem to sort out a Ricoh deal.
If she can't or won't do a deal, it's her fault CCFC will be stuck in Northampton, and her fault that she will have inadvertently 'distressed' her precious investors.
I want CCFC back in Coventry, but not at any cost.
Time for Joy to grow some balls, admit she's made some big mistakes, and make things right.

F&B's are worth about £100k a year to the club.

A season at Northampton probably cost around £3m (when you include all the legal costs).

Therefore if the club come back this season with F&B's it will take around 30 years to make that loss back up.

Ive not even touched on the damage caused to the future fan base.

Not sure I would see it as a much better position.

Should add that I'm not expecting us to go up this season even if we go back to the ricoh with acess to f&b. would certainly expect a promotion in the next three years with our resources at this level though. There is also the requirement that sisu don't cash in their charges against the club.

A ricoh return under the right terms would offer us the opportunity to build the club to championship level with financial prudence. Premiership unfortunately may prove a step to far without reverting to the fiscal chaos we found ourselves in before.
From our current position though is take a stable championship club.
