Huddersfield after Pressley (17 Viewers)

Most likely pessimistic City fans putting a bet on has pushed his to favourite. And the favourite at this point almost never gets the job at this level.

I'm not sure that's entirely true mate, but I'd agree the odds probably aren't a fair reflection of the probability. If it was on Betfair, I'd lay it.

(The alternative would be to try to dutch some of the rest of the field perhaps: http://www.oddschecker.com/betting-tools/dutching-calculator)

Is it down to pessimistic City fans though, or are there a few locals making something of SP's connections to their 'football operations' chief? Or is there some real insider knowledge? I don't think it'll happen, but I certainly wouldn't want to put my mortgage on Pressley staying put, in truth.

Just put a tenner on Malky Mackay at 16/1, see if the odds shift!

That is very tempting. :)

Edit: Even better idea - put a tenner on SP, and see if the bookies close the book because they're worried about 'insider trading'. I wonder how much money really is on these markets.

From looking on Huddersfield message boards it's definitely not Huddersfield fans putting the money on Pressley, he had 0.48%(one vote) of the fans wanting him!

That poll included a lot of unrealistic options like Mackay and Warnock who wouldn't be interested but yea, they don't seem excited at the idea of Pressley.

The odds will speak at some point SP's gone odds on with Skybet now 10/11, and the 25/1 BetVictor priced up got hammered into 5/4 pretty quickly. I admit that the market will be weak so might not be that accurate. As I type Paddy Power have suspended the 2/1 which was biggest price on SP going. Steady money for him tonight so someone thinks they know something.

Maybe behind the scenes he's made his true feelings known about playing in front of 2k for "home" matches...some kind of ultimatum?

Know a few people who lost quite a few quid(would have done myself if been around on the day) betting on the next Villa manager a couple of years ago.

All lumped on Solksjaer at about 50/1 when the people who handle Randy Lerners jet at BHX had it flying to Norway and Ole being on the passenger list returning to BHX.

Came down to favourite very shortly, and would have got the job but sadly for us, Cardiff eventually, the people who bet on him, but not villa unfortunately, he turned the job down.

Dead certs and insider information not always reliable.

What will be will be. If he goes I would be sad for sure but I was when Robbins left

Someone is always better for the job if recruited right and last couple of managers have been a turning point as Coleman and thorn and boothroyd were poor.

Odds suggest basically he is 50-50 to go. It's a coin flip. See what Huddersfield offer him I guess. Might offer him more money but if he is really settled and wants to build at Coventry and given assurances he would stay.

Trouble is Robbins wasn't given the assurances he was after such as Ricoh and wage budgets. I can't see SP being any different. If he has any sense he should go tbh. Huddersfield have good players and could challenge play offs in the championship so we could be a premiership manager this time next year. Huddersfield have nacki wells, James Vaughen, Norwood and gemmil is it? Very good players and a good stadium. He would be mad to turn it down based on that.

On the flip side, Pressley is all too aware of the current situation we are in. I find it hard to believe that he would accept continuous lip service from Sisu. I would imagine they have to be totally upfront with him. So imagine a scenario. We are broke, will operate under the tightest of parameters, but they have said here is a club, make it into your vision.... Perhaps just perhaps that is more appealing than say an 18 month 2 year job at Huddersfield.

Agree, that must have been a big motivation for coming here. Where is it easier to look good, at a club like Coventry or Man United after Ferguson?

He has to move us on this year, despite the loss of Clarke and Wilson, which will be no easy task.

Latest odds -
Sky Bet 8/11
Paddy Power 5/4
Currently the best price on SP is Coral 6/4

No smoke without fire !
My hunch he will be gone tomorrow.

Rumour that this deal was already agreed when Robins left that he would come back when we return to the Ricoh.
Huddersfield agreed a deal with Pressley and us for him to come here for some experience in England, before joining them when Robins eventually came back to us.

Sorry to burst your bubble pal but that rumour fell apart when we didn't return to the Ricoh on the Eve of the 8th full moon of the Chinese new year.

Typical, they could at least have said that before everybody called Robins a greedy c**t!

I think what is concerning is that there has been little response from the club stating 'hands off' or 'he's not going anywhere'. I know that doesnt normally make much difference but we have gone extremely quiet on that situation....

it's all unimportant anyway. the way i see it, pretty much everything that happens on the pitch is a sideshow compared to the stadium situation

Some dude with 5 bellies down the kebab shop told me the only reason Murphy signed for Huddersfield is because Pressley is going there...that way he will be the number 1 keeper.

Rumour has it ...extra chilli sauce pls...Thorn is returning to CCFC. Not as a manager but to help Webster out in central defence. He will wear Bakers number 8 shirt.

Yeah right, so the fact that Robins was sacked just after a 4-0 defeat & the idea that CCFC are pulling Huddersfields strings is totally credible.
