But we've already established on another thread that, using Pressley's statement as a basis for the maths, the budget is circa 1.7m. That's not 'fuck all money'. And Pressley himself said the Clarke and Wilson money had been reinvested in the team. And Pressley also said he had final say on all transfers, so it's difficult to say he is being dictated to. I'm not saying anyone could definitely do a better job, but I would say that if what he says is true then I think he could be doing an awful lot better. He appears to have wasted a lot of money on dross that we then have to pay off to leave. Of course, if those players and/or decisions weren't really his, then he is lying about it.

£1.7M is a good budget ....

Alex Ferguson THIRD season at Manchester United 6 wins out of the first 20 games and 3 wins out of the last 14 games people said he was crap and had been given too long. History shows he hadn't been given long enough.

what was man u's financial situation/ attendances like at the time?

I am not saying he is, I am pointing out it even took Ferguson several, seasons with big funds to turn Manchester United around.

Look at what some stability and cultivation of an ethos within a club achieved at Swansea.

Look at what chopping and changing has achieved at Coventry.

They averaged around 40,000 I think in a 54,000 stadium. They had a lot if average players when he took over.

If the club had been less keen on stability and a little keener on chopping-and-changing, then they may have avoided a couple of relegations.

I think there was plenty of chopping and changing at the start of our last relegation season.

When your down in the doldrums it takes more than a good manager ,Money is needed if you want to rebuild your team which we have none ,otherwise its a massive stroke of luck and gel in existing players, the ones we have are a pretty poor bunch. Fergie would have been sacked last season with our results 4 wins in 24 A fuckin men
