Good press release too. Glad to see it lacking some of the pointedness and unnecessary bitchiness of some of the previous fare
Very positive language. I am not sure if Waggott or Robinson were involved in previous negotiations.

The club has agreed a two-year deal with an option for an extra two years and we should return for the Gillingham match...
Coventry City Football Club has agreed a deal to return to the Ricoh Arena.

The two-year deal, with an option for an extra two years, should see the Sky Blues play at the Ricoh Arena for the first time in the league against Gillingham.

Steve Waggott, development director at Coventry City FC, said: “We are delighted to get this deal done and I am sure every supporter of Coventry City will be thrilled with this news.

“We are under no illusion what a difficult 12 months it has been for the supporters and that was uppermost in our thinking as we worked to get this deal done.

“There has had to be compromise on both sides and the commercial details of the deal will remain confidential.

“Now it is all about looking forward to a really exciting season back in the community and with a real chance of success. I am sure every supporter will want to give Steven Pressley, his staff and players their full backing for the season at the Ricoh.

“Logistically, it’s going to mean a huge amount of work between now and the first game back and we would ask supporters to bear with us as all of our efforts up to now have been in getting this deal over the line to get us back to Coventry as soon as possible.

“We will announce details around tickets, Season Tickets and other information as soon as we can next week but we hope to be back at the Ricoh for the clash with Gillingham. We will keep supporters fully informed of progress to that aim.

“Can I also take this opportunity of thanking Chris Robinson, Chair of ACL, for the professional manner he has conducted our lengthy discussions to reach this agreement.”

Chris Robinson confirmed: “Everyone at ACL looks forward to delivering a top quality service to the club and the fans.”

Coventry City have kept Northampton fully informed and would like to thank the club for its hospitality over the last 12 months.

2 plus 2 is a bit worrying but wonder what the long term plan is?

Build the new stadium or buy a stake in ACL?

anyone seen the football league statement. Still trying to take some credit for us coming home.

“When The Football League Board gave its consent to Coventry City playing its matches in Northampton, it did so with this outcome in mind."

While we understand that the Board’s decision led to a significant amount of dissatisfaction amongst Coventry supporters, we would not be where we are today without it. On this basis alone, this very difficult decision has now been justified"

Fuck off, tossers

It's my birthday today and this is the best present ever

Ditto and Ditto. Happy Birthday dude.

Was already going up the Ricoh this afternoon for a couple of pints as have been for the last couple of weeks. Asked the receptionist when I last visited, she said June 2013.

Anyway, hopefully I can withdraw my comments about CCFC never playing in Cov again.

Nice one.

Beeb have it in their little breaking news ticker thing now, they're always a bit slow on news as they seem more rigid on confirming everything.

FAN BLOODY TASTIC NEWS!

This will give SP and the team a real lift.

And the radio is playing MR BLUE SKY!

Sun is shinin' in the sky,
There ain't a cloud in sight
It's stopped rainin'
Everybody's in a play
And don't you know
It's a beautiful new day.

Runnin' down the avenue,(Pant, Pant, Pant)
See how the sun shines brightly
In the city on the streets
Where once was pity,
Mr. Blue Sky is living here today.

Mr. Blue Sky, please tell us why,
You had to hide away
For so long where did we go wrong.

Hey there Mr. Blue
We're so pleased to be with you
Look around see what you do,
Everybody smiles at you.

The football leagues comments are hilarious. Its Like putting someone in a coma and then expecting praise for turning on the life support machine.

Anyway, couldn't be happier. I don't even care watching us lose 8-0, we get to watch our team again :)

Fuck off Football League!

The full statement for anyone else looking: http://www.football-league.co.uk/fo...eague-statement-coventry-city_2293334_4088367

The Football League's Chief Executive, Shaun Harvey, has welcomed the news that Coventry City have reached agreement with Arena Coventry Limited (ACL) to return to the Ricoh Arena.
Harvey said: "Getting the two parties to this point has taken a significant amount of work over a lengthy period of time by everyone involved in this process. However, the majority of the credit should go to Coventry City and ACL, who have now agreed a mutually acceptable way forward.

"When The Football League Board gave its consent to Coventry City playing its matches in Northampton, it did so with this outcome in mind. It ensured that the club could continue to fulfil its fixtures, and thereby remain in The Football League, while all parties focussed on resolving this complex commercial dispute.

"While we understand that the Board's decision led to a significant amount of dissatisfaction amongst Coventry supporters, we would not be where we are today without it. On this basis alone, this very difficult decision has now been justified.

"I hope today is viewed as a new beginning for all the parties and that Sky Blues supporters can transfer the passion and energy they have put into their campaigning back into watching their club play in Coventry."

Bold bit = please leave us alone now.

This is terrible news. :(

What have we now got to moan about? Scabs will become fans again, the hill will be trample free and fans are going to have to come up with another excuse for not going up on a wet windy Tuesday night.

:(

A very sad and sombre day.

Rumours that Fisher will fuck off when we get back to the Ricoh.
After the stance Fisher has taken the last 12/18 months how can he remain ? If sisu are serious and looking to change their policies new football people are needed at the helm or they should just sell the club on. Fisher will never be taken serious again no matter what. or Waggott for that matter

This is a good one on CET:

To those celebrating ,can I just say that you and Sisu deserve each other. I was a Cov fan for 45 years but I`ve had enough .I`ve decided to support Northampton Town in future and applied for a season ticket this morning .

Don't worry. The 2 year deal crew have already started making an appearance.

just going to bring something from another thread. The first game game we ought to get a massive banner to pass around the stands saying thank you to all supporters from all clubs in the country.

On behalf of all coventry city fans i would like to say thank you to everyone who offered sympathy and supported our stance. United we stand
