So it's my 4 in block 11 and you in block 10. We'd better run round the block to make it look busy :).

Not sure what's going on, an onion bag seems to be ok between fans at Prem and Champ levels, I feel for TO staff who are gonna get the backlash next week when they move anybody in block 11 and10 to be B29-30. (Yes moved out of the B29 to B11 only to be moved back!!!!) Unless Police OK the St Stand.

Somebody at the club needs to come out and tell the whole story, if they do that then at least we can plan and except, I often find telling people how it is in the first place is generally the best option. Don't blame the TO staff, they are doing a great job, somebody higher up needs to come clean on this.

Keep up the good work TO staff you've done a great job so far in my book.

Agree. The club started selling south stand tickets before police intervened. Must be massively frustrating for them too. They should come out at say exactly what the police position is on this because they are the cause of the problem - either they are refusing to sanction it, or are charging a ridiculous amount in additional policing costs. Because Cov v Gillingham has always been a bit naught eh?

This could apply to pretty much to SISU's entire tenure

Well at this point I am going to try and let bygones be bygones and give them the chance to win back my supporter.

People need to chill out, all the seats that are 'safe' to sell will be made available in good time. The club already announced that they need today to catch up on processing and posting out thousands of tickets already purchased. They can't go all balls out with a handful of staff until Thursday and then decide to start sending them out or announce tickets have to be collected. I think only 2 hours sales will be allowed today and the rest of it spent catching up. By tomorrow the rest of the North Stand will sell out.

More seats will become available.. People just need to chill the feck out.

Its the "working to open up more seats" bit that's frustrating. There shouldn't be any work required.

Also using phrases such as "sold out" (as they did yesterday) on twitter isn't very wise as some people will just read the start of it and not attempt to buy anymore.

Maybe there are policing issues, no one is sure other than the Club, although I can't see there being any reason why the Club would not put tickets on sale with the interest that there is currently.

Just be patient, this has all come about so quickly there was always going to be teething issues.

They should have said' suspension in ticket sales' to allow staff to catch up with posting. You have to have sympathy there's only a handful of them working on it !

It's just very frustrating if there are empty seats on the night because fans haven't been given the chance to buy them. Certain people will then claim it's because the fans aren't backing the club.

Must have missed that? Because there is still six days up until the fixture, General Sale has been since Friday at 09:30 and already we have sold circa 15,000, if the rest of the Stadium is opened - which I believe it will be - there is no reason the Ricoh will not be full. I don't think Gills will sell all their allocation and having seen photos some sections blocks 6 and 7 have already been halved.

I mean in the future.

IF there are empty seats on the night, and IF I ever see any comments on here such as "we couldn't even sell out the first game back" I expect your backup when I call them a cock ;)

I'm confused on another issue.

I'm looking to renew my season ticket and I can see my seat available.
I'm not renewing until after Gillingham because I can't make that match at the moment.

As a matter of interest I took the option to see what other seats are available and there are none.
Therefore I have made the following calculation ....

If you minus off the South and North stand unavailable blocks (say 12,000 seats) that leaves 20,000.

Those 20,000 are made up of new season tickets purchased and old season tickets not yet purchased.

Am I missing something here or have we got 20,000 season ticket holders ?

Absolutely.. I am sure the interest will be huge in the Gills fixture, I just hope we get a good game to view and it entices more to come again, I'd love an average attendance of 15,000 - 20,000.

To an extent. Perhaps we should send https://twitter.com/WMPCovFc a friendly tweet.

However, we are being lied to here. We have already sold up to block 12 in SS, and at least 2000 will be given the away fans, so those few thousand in that stand that potentially could be sold to city fans do not account for all the unsold seats the club are telling us about - even if you factor in corporate and those reserved for ST holders. We know nobody has bought a ticket in the centre blocks of the NS, because the club haven't opened it, and it never appeared for online sales. They are telling people they have though, and that is naughty.

I'm sure I've seen people saying they have purchased tickets in block 29 which is directly behind the goal in the north stand

But the police have no authority regarding ticketing inside the ground, they can inly advise.

They dont have authority on ticket sales, but can make representations for the club not to get its safety certificate for the game (or something similar)

To be honest though this doesn't appear to be just a policing issue, as the club will need to get the stadium passed as safe and this will need to be done (I believe) in conjunction with more than just the Police, but also ACL and the local authority, so it may mean they just need to get this sorted first before they can free the other blocks.

There is also the issue of Stewarding and if they are short, they will have to make contingency plans to get more if they want to open the whole stadium up.

I haven't yet got tickets and am extremely frustrated but the fact they haven't opened the whole ground up, may be due to many more factors than the club itself, and they have to jump through many more hoops than just passing safe segregation by the Police.

You could solve 2 problems here by volunteering to steward ?

This is a shambles.
I have had to coerce/beg people to cover my shifts at work on Friday and Saturday so I can come down. I thought that was supposed to be the hard part.
But apparently getting hold of a couple of tickets in a 32,000 seat stadium is the hard part now.
Waiting until Friday to see if I can get any is no good to me.

Blocks 6 & 7 will probably be enough for Gills, and most teams in League One for that matter. What's the average away following for teams in this division? Add a few extras for the gimps that will travel to take selfies following their pub team at the Ricoh and put on facebook.

Don't think the kids would like that!

I did a season many years ago, after being asked and had quite a good role having access to the tunnel and changing rooms. Met lots of players, managers, TV pundits (Keysie and Graysie as they like to call themselves included), met Richardson the slime ball and heard quite a few of Strachan's rages and cup throwing, but it was not like being a fan and I wouldn't do it again.

i can now get online at last but it will not let me choose anything - there is no message to say current allocation sold out etc

I'd probably end up supervising the toilets while the match is on :pointlaugh:

Same for season tickets.
Set up my wife and then tried to buy a season ticket for her and none available.
Surely there are new season tickets available to buy online ?

Well you think the most likely teams to bring decent away followings to the Ricoh would be:

- Preston
- Sheffield United (We played them at Sixfields so that won't happen)
- Bradford
- Barnsley (We played them at Sixfields so that won't happen)
- Bristol City

That said the last time we were at the Ricoh:

- Swindon
- Yeovil
- Leyton Orient

All brought good followings as well, we shall see I guess I would say blocks 6, 7 and 8 would be enough for the whole season for away fans.

29-31, 11 & 10

Can see why they'd need to speak with police and H&S to put 10 & 11 on sale but what's the problem with 29-31? They've been fine for years, what's changed now?

Does that add up? There's 10K not sold or reserved so would another 5 blocks plus away account for that many?

It's all about the club staff catching up with posting Dave, I'm sure that's the only hold up in truth !

the problem is that there are indeed 5 "working days" and most people will beworking and will be unable to get time off work. The online system is useless and there is no guarantee the club will post and be received in time.

I can understand why people are getting concerned

They could open the shop till 8-9 o'clock, and is they can't get them out in the post, then they could bring in a temporary kiosk for people to collect them from the Ricoh on matchday.

Why do the away fans need to be in the south stand at all? Blocks 4 & 5 would be enough for the majority of teams in this league, and they could open up blocks 1,2 & 3 for the larger away followings.

Instead of closing off the North Stand, they should have limited the crowd to the bottom half of stands, the placement of the stairwells from the concourse to the viewing action are perfectly placed, they could have sold no seats above the entrance, would have split capacity in half, fans closer together & to the action, as well as being around the whole stadium.

I've got my Season ticket but I'm wanting to move to the south stand, block 10 hopefully.

We got block 10 on Tuesday when we transferred our tickets. Maybe the majority of people on Tuesday/Wednesday did and there's nothing available there?
