How is football over priced? Compared to what other leisure persuit?
we're going to have to accept these things if we want to get where we want to go,I do understand it's not easy/simple for some though .
Personally I havn't had the best of years workwise ,but I'll stump up the necessary ,and if I can stretch to It the ST ,much simpler on Instalment ,guess that will come next year.

No it doesn't, and you are not listening. People are simply saying that prices should be in line with the rest of the division. The other clubs with big grounds in this division - Bradford, Sheff Utd and MK Dons, all charge less, and both Sheff United and MK Dons have a number of designated fixtures each season which start at £10.
Again, if you are happy with the prospect of a sub-10K gate this Saturday then you don't have anything to worry about.

Yep. But then the thing I find strange, is that for most of last season people were talking about having lost interest, that they had found other things to do on a Saturday etc.
We are back, but one game in people are assuming that everyone is going to forget all that and slip straight back into the old routine. Some will, some won't. It's all very well talking about Friday - that was just one of those occasions you had to be at - but normal service has now resumed, and the club have some work to do to get people back on a regular basis. Ramping prices up to amongst the most expensive in division is not a good start. They are not horrendous by any stretch, but a little ill-judged imo and they need to have a rethink. Perhaps scrapping the matchday surcharge would be a start.

Over the last 12 months people have found other things to do or spend their money on, many are out of the habit of going. We need to bring them back, get them back in the habit and make going up the Ricoh every other week second nature. Tickets at £22 upwards aren't going to help achieve that.

Times are hard for a lot of people. If half of our supporters can't afford to go it would be better to reduce prices at times. Say for instance games where the attendances would be lower than usual like a midweek game against a team near the bottom.
It is easy for you to say this when you tell us you earn nearly as much as the Prime minister. Try having consideration for others for once.

Cricket for example. Warwickshire's final at Lords a week on Sat. £40 for a full days entertainment - not just 90 mins.

Well football is really overpriced i agree , you had manchester city fans paying 62 pound for a ticket at arsenal , west brom fans paying 50 odd pound for a night match at the etihad , arsenal fans paying nearly 1000 a season ticket , the clubs also having sometimes 2 -3 games in the space of 8 days , its getting harder and harder for the normal fan to follow their club religeously.
If pricing doesnt stop rising , you will end up with half empty stadiums all around the country

Some of us will find the money regardless, many a time in the past when I was younger I had to borrow money to buy a ticket.
Some are not that fortunate.

The high prices you quote all get sold though, they could probably put the prices up. Our prices are about right, if we win games people will pay, if we lose it's hard to give tickets away so the price is not the main factor.

Point is why do clubs feel the need to screw over fans , when they have players sat on the bench earning 5 times the yearly salary of a fan , in a week .

All live entertainment. Most family entertainment.
I took myself, my wife and my daughter to the cinema, it entertained us for nearly 3 hours and was high quality entertainment, all of us enjoyed every minute of it and none of us were bored. All three tickets cost less than one adult ticket at CCFC for 90 mins hit and miss entertainment.
I could've taken them bowling, again longer entertainment, more guaranteed fun, cheaper price.
I could've gone to the Arts Centre to see a live act, or to the Belgrade. Ticket prices would've been close (though still cheaper in most cases) and again I'd have had more reliable and longer entertainment.
I could've taken them all to the zoo or the safari for the day, or even to Alton Towers on one of the multitude of BOGOF offer and had an entire day of reliably high quality entertainment for less.
I could go on and on and on. Live music gigs for all but the international superstars, hell I flew to Amsterdam and back for less than the cost of a CCFC adult ticket!
Football likes to try and compare itself to the theatre, but it's far worse value and football is supposed to be a working class sport.
FFS Grendel, you're either on the wind up, extremely stupid, or autistic. You have an entire thread of people telling you it's too expensive. If your customers tell you they can't afford it, it's too expensive. We're not selling a premium product here FFS.

£10 a ticket and we can't sell enough tickets. Full price and we only have the stadium just over 1/3 full. And this is including the STH's which take up a lot of the seats of the lower attended games. A price of about £18 a game whilst we are in this division would bring more in. Get supporters used to going to games again. And if we get promotion they could put the prices up again.

Supporters Won't pay over £20.00 to watch the mediocre standard of football in our league You have your diehards that will pay it every game whatever but that is it.
If they want more people to Watch football in the lower leagues then they need to do there marketing and see why people won't come.

My mate a former Sixfielder is now paying £9 a game at the Ricoh with his transferred ST but at very best new ST take ups pay £15 ?! £24 to pay on the gate at a 2/3rd's empty stadium and that's normal. Actually it's football where owners and accountants rely on trying to fleece the most loyal generally ?!

It runs from the 13th of this month until about the 27th. Ticket prices were available for the early dates at £8.50 each, we are going later in the month as it suits our schedule and paying £13.75. The £8.50 days are almost selling out !! This is Cov, people look for value for money with their limited disposable income.

I totally see where you are coming from and on the whole I agree. £20 for a L1 fixture is a lot of money.
The club need to make money so I presume that the ticket prices are pegged at a level where they would hope to attract fans while at the same time turning over a profit. This is why the Ricoh situation complicates the issue.
It would be great if they could offer £10/£15 for every game or to at least offer it more regularly, but presumably they can’t afford to.
Value for money? Probably not. If I was paying that much to go and see a rubbish film then I would walk out. However, that’s what makes supporting your team unique, for many, it’s a no brainer and they will turn up regardless. Football clubs know what. Yes, they need to attract the waverers, but it must be difficult getting the right balance of good ticketing prices and making a profit.
