Of course it isn't just Coventry people but would have thought as we were moved away more would be gagging to get back to see the team play now The amount of outrage when we were moved and now we are back it is like "ah ok we are back now".

Of course people will be working, of course people will have family commitments and only the very hardcore will run their lives 100% around football.

Maybe it would have been better If the Plastics hadn't bothered with the Friday night Anomaly for their photo opportunity ,would have saved a 31 page thread .

I totally agree with you.
I will be there rain or shine book holidays off work(when I'm working) just to go to the match.

unfortunately it isn't they need to take a look at themselves and look for the reason that they hate everything Coventry bar the team.

To be honest considering how little success the club has had in the last 45 years, and that we're in the 3rd tier at the moment our crowds aren't all that bad. No Wembley appearance in 27 years, no top 6 finish in 44 years. Says a lot about the core of our fanbase for it to still be around the 10-12k mark.

Joelly, it sounds to me like you are a pretty good fan. You go home and away when you can afford it...what more can we ask?

Lets face it Grendel say he earns 100k, also admits he rarely goes away. Balance those factors out and I think Joelly is more committed!

Last big game was crewe at £5 in the JPT and you said crewe was your next game and with people saying fans only go when it's cheap I was attempting to jokingly put you in this section of fans.

It didn't look that poor when shed loads of people were paying £4.50 for a bottle / can of cheap beer against Gillingham.

I can't get my head round that at all. I heard some people moaning about the cost of the beer yesterday before the game when I was chatting to people in the concourse. But they were still buying it! What's that all about? I wouldn't dream of paying anything like that for a beer anywhere. Surely people can't be that desperate for a bottle of poor quality beer.

When the announcement came out of 11,000 I was shocked. I don't think that the stadium was only 1/3 full.

Having said that it certainly wasn't the attendance level it should have been. I am really trying to convince myself that people wern't just being selfish, and that the club mess up with tickets etc. caused the low attendance. We shall see. If it is 11,000 for the next home game then it is worrying, especially if we are still in the play-offs.

I was there today but the prices put people off. They should cap it at 15 quid. I know so many ppl who were there last Friday but were not there today due to them refusing to pay over 20 quid for league 1 football. We stick in around the playoffs the attendances will increase.

Most fans not willing to pay £22 wouldn't have paid £15. They would have used queues/web-site problems/anything apart from the fact they didn't really want to go, as an excuse.

I can understand the reasons why a lot of our fans fall under the 'floating' category (lack of success etc) but I really wish they would just be honest about it.

And as someone said before, for all those who really struggle to afford to go to games, why did we only have 5,000 against Burton in the JPT last year?

Would have really thought that would have been a chance for many City fans who want to go up but can't afford to do so, to actually go and see a game for once.

Add them all up and you may get 10,000 so most of them were probably at the game..

8000 went on the march
50 went on the hill on a good day
1500 went to Sixfields

Although a large proportion of 6field people went on the march.

Difference with Tesco is that people endlessley bleat on about how they love the club and loyalty is so important and are SO desperate to get back to the Ricoh but when it comes to brass tacks wont go.

Like Otis has mentioned in another thread (best post it here than turn every thread into the same discussion) but he makes a very good point. Considering this is was just the second game back, on an unbeaten run. We only managed 11,000. It is quite worrying as a losing streak often effects attendance but I don't think it will change much. It will still be the the majority of the same people that go week in, week out. Personally, I enjoyed the Yeovil game far more than the Gillingham game anyway.

Lets think about the next home game vs Preston, If we get 3/4 points from next two away games we will still be in the play off spots. Also you would hope that the tickets problem has been resolved, it would have been two weeks since the last home game so the back to back home games excuse wouldn't stick.

Your excuses are running out people! Buy your ticket now for Preston now and you will have no problems!

I am not moaning about the prices. I am happy to pay them as long as I can make it to a game. It is only a small part of my outlay. But the price of tickets will be a reason why many won't turn up. There are other reasons why others won't turn up. But why should we pretend that ticket prices has nothing to do with attendances?
