Sky Blue Thinking piece from Andy Turner - http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sp...news/sky-blue-thinking-wasps-invasion-7818179
The politics has become tedious in the extreme -ACL should either refute or confirm the situation with Wasps (or any other parties for that matter). And Sisu drop the new stadium nonsense and put the Club first for once i.e. put an offer in for some part of ACL. Oh, and by the way - do this second bit in private and professoinally please whilst negotiating (that's both sides).
Guess the problem there though, Monners, if negotiations have been going for sometime (starting while we were still at Sixifelds), then they are not ever going to come out now with negotiations still ongoing and confirm the situation.
If that has been the case it will all be sensitive negotiations. Seems like someone may have deliberately leaked out secret talk information. Possibly to give Sisu a kick up the pants into dropping all the legal stuff.
why are ACl looking to strike a deal with anyboy , i thought they could survive with or without tennants at the arena .no seriously , just dont see how considering its coventry taxpayers money that kept them "afloat" then the city should get a say on what it wants in regards to this , i dont think wasps would come off well
mr council otis, why dont you join an acl fan forum?
you will start back tracking just like the CET
maybe around matchdays you feel the love for ccfc again, when no games around you revert to type.
Must. . . . . not.... bite.... do.... not feed the.... troll.....exactly
not one part of you cares that ccfc will suffer, along as it makes sense on paper
Yep. Hard to disagree with any of that, Duffer.I've got to say that the Andy Turner article summarises exactly how I feel about all this. Shortest 'honeymoon' period ever. So, so sad.
Why?Liked this article BUT Andy turners right about one thing.. he is naïve.
The talks with Wasps had been going on after SISUhave:
1. Failed to pay the rent, offer a reasonable value for the share of the stadium.
2. leaving for Sixfields and threaten to build a new stadium
3. Taking ACL/CCC to court for misuse of state aid.
4. At the same time demanding they want to own the Freehold and the leasehold is not an optioion.
5. and then finally return back to the Ricoh and then still carry on about owning and building there own stadium.
Quite a few punches by SISU there don't you think Andy T.
Fact is as soon as they left the Ricoh, stop paying the rent, carrying on threatening court action and building of a new stadium they had lost any rights to be involved in bidding for the stadium as soon as the Wasps came in with a committed proposition.
You cannot expect the ACL/CCC to renege on any business agreement that probably has been taking place for over a while now and way before SISU sent CCFC into exile 30 miles away. Obviously it hasn't worked for SISU.
The facts are ACL/CCC cannot take the risk of losing this business deal in hope of waiting for SISU to make a realistic offer which probably will never come. As a business they have to do what's best for this city asset.
End of the day we can all spout rubbish , the longer ccfc do not own A. Stadium , the longer we will suffer as supporters .
If wasps buy this stadium , then we have to look to secure a new stadium in the future
Liked this article BUT Andy turners right about one thing.. he is naïve.

Are you sure about that......If you believe other articles from the same paper, then previous ACL leadership were talking to Wasps several YEARS BEFORE sisu stopped paying rent, let alone moved us to sixfields.....
....just saying....

You're the one who is being naive. Fisher and SISU haven't said a word about this. Nobody from the club has said they expect ACL to drop a deal with Wasps for their benefit. The fact that after everything has happened and even less than a week after announcing a return to the Ricoh you get TF saying we still plan to own OR build a stadium without any proof or substance to it . How he thinks getting back to negotiation with ACL and expecting them to drop a possible deal with the another party is being very naïve.
To be fair he contradicted himself on that matter in his post....

The fans on the other hand, apart from the idiots so blinded by their hate for SISU, seem fundamentally opposed to the idea of London (in all but name) Wasps having a controlling stake in a the stadium management company. The stadium itself has previously been called a community asset to the City of Coventry.
Have I said they have???? ... Why you twisting my words... I was on about I think it was before or after the Gillingham game Fisher made the same ole statement about the club needing to own or build its own stadium and this was after one of the councillors had said that trust needed to be build between the club. His timing was very poor.
And the irony that a councillor said trust had to be built between the club and ACL, is that they appear to be in discussions with a third party to sell them a stake....

.......meanwhile the trust worthy hedge fund are persuing litigation while narrowing down the sites to 2 where they plan to build a new stadium and wave bye bye to the City of Coventry forever. Irony central in the Coventry Area.
2 wrongs......
