Will Pressley dig his own grave? (6 Viewers)

This 5-3-2 formation will cost him his job. I guess we will see how stubborn he is if this rotten brand of football and poor results continues and he sticks with the 5-3-2. We clearly don't have the players to utilise it affectively....

No threat going forward whatsoever, yet still not solid at the back.

Without exaggeration; today is the worst City performance I have EVER seen and that is saying something! Statistic of; one shot on target is absolutely damning...

Hope not as im a fan of what he did for us at Sixfields and how he comes across. But if he isn't seeing what everyone in the crowd can see then eventually he'd have to go.

We only had two shots off target, (very off target) and only corner in 88 mins. Also only one free kick into box on 89 mins. In all 48 years of me going I think this is the worst asfar of those stats.

We've just given him a four year contract, which was widely praised on here. Funny how quickly opinions change.

Opinions aren't changing, but it's logical to ask the question.

Cant back a man that has won 7 in the last 34 league games , in 3rd tier football , while boasting a wage bill bigger than 60-70% of the teams in the division

After the turmoil that the club has been through, travelling 35 miles for home games, 2 transfer embargos, points deduction, could only sign players on reduced contracts etc I'm still backing him. To keep us up last year, he's learnt that backing to be fair.

Lose 3 games in a row and the manager has to go, win 3 in a row and a 4 year contract is too short.

At this rate there will be no one there to boo him in a few weeks anyway, pressure will be off then ;)

At what point though , is it going to be that its pressley just doing a bad job , as the way i see things he can do no wrong as its all everybody elses fault around him but ...not him(The feeling i get from our supporters)

To be fair when it's right after a game people will always be more pessimistic or optimistic than after a day or 2. Countless times I've come away from a game saying I'll never go again and then the next day I'm choosing which I'll go to next. Only problem in a few weeks' time will be that I've persuaded the other half to make the journey down :p

Just over a week ago we were on a 7 match unbeaten run.

He gets the praise, he must also take the stick. There are some mitigating circumstances that we were missing 3 of our first choice 11. It does show, however, we don't have the strength in depth we thought we had.

I really like Pressley, as do most of the fans. However, he needs to address the system we use, as it is not picking us up a satisfactory points tally. There are some good players in our squad, but in my opinion too many square pegs in round holes. Swanson, O'brien and Coulibaly are wide players, not central players. Jordan Clarke is not a wing back

Chairmen all over the world have been struggling to answer that question for as long as competitive football's been about.

The crowd have nothing to cheer about. I can't see where the next win is coming from. Is football an entertainment business? It doesn't matter what formation is played. Crap football produces crap results= falling crowds.

The City boss said: "We were lacking in confidence in our performance. We need to show more belief in ourselves and make more we do better in games.

"That stops with me. I've got to find out why that performance happened and get us playing the way we can play.

"We went seven games unbeaten but to lose three games in a row isn't good enough for what we want to do this season.

"I accept that and we've got to turn this around. We've got to show some belief and some hunger to make sure that performance doesn't happen again.

"We need to play better in front of our own fans and I will take responsibility for what they saw today."

No excuses here from Pressley, sounds ticked off and I don't blame him, however when the 11 step on the pitch it needs to be better and hopefully we can sort it out next week.

we don't have the strength in depth we thought we had.

That some thought we had ;)

Never a fan of sacking the manager anyway, it's the easy way to take the pressure off the symptoms and, let's face it, our trend has been downwards all through the 21st centiury, with only the briefest of bounces from the likes of Adams and Robins.

What is, however, disappointing is not the results but the loss of positivity. OK, we don't have Clarke and Wilson at the club any more, but that doesn't mean you can'ty go out with a positive attitude and a desire to score more than the opposition - it's the negative, try and constrain that's done for us in the past and then filters through to a lack of belief.

And that's nothing to do with the system really, either. Any system can be attacking if the players show a will to be attacking, but while our midfield amble around, and while Tudgay seems to be doing his best Dean Holdsworth impression (a striker with a pedigree who on joining us seems determined to go nowehere near the box) we're doomed to tedium.

Change the attitude first, above all else.

Well at least we can't blame Conor Thomas today.

Maybe this performance showed his value to the team.

Remember all the people calling for Swanson, O'Brien and Fleck in the middle of the park?

Well I think today is what you are going to get more often than not. Swanson is very, very lightweight.

Couldn't understand why Pressley didn't bring Finch on at half time for him. For the first 25 mins today everything Swanson touched, turned to shite. He marginally improved by twice passing the ball to team mates, but he looked out of his depth in this game and the very fact that he had already been booked put him on a tightrope anyway.

Not sure Preston will have an easier game all season long.

After today I think we need to change the system, not sure what system suits our players now thought. More poor recruitment from the manager.

Don't know if anyone else has noticed, but since Ryan Haynes' early promise, opposition teams have targeted him and closed him down, nullifying his attacking threat, but also that there is no-one making forward runs ahead of him down the left flank in support.

Today everytime he got the ball he was closely marked, but with no-one making a run in front of him on the left, he was forced to either play it long or pass it inside.

Seems to me that on the whole, Jim O'Brien is the only one capable of making runs and creating space. Tudgay ... .well, I'm speechless. At times it looked like he had never been to a tactical training session in his entire life. Seems like the first thought in his mind everytime he gets the ball is to take it backwards and turn towards his own teammates, rather than look to go forwards.

Both our wing backs are not getting the space and support when pushing forwards and today all we did therefore, was to knock the ball long or simply lose posession.

Swanson and Tudgay should be dropped.

I know what you mean. I would certainly worry playing 442.....the diamond? 4231 with nouble up top and coubily and jacksone either side?

Today was terrible, we weren't exactly impressive in the other home games either, but getting 3 points glosses over the performance.

We need to change the formation. Pressley should never have got the 4 contract, done nothing to warrant it.

I'd probably go 4231, play a flat back 4 with a holding anchor man in front of them. Not sure who would play the holding role though, Thomas runs around a lot but not sure he is disciplined or strong enough to play this, only other option is maybe Finch and that isn't ideal. Not convinced Jackson would be any good out wide either. We're short on midfielders and have 5 strikers so I'm not sure how clever it is to play 5 in midfield with 1 striker.

Why are we talking about getting rid of the manager ffs. We have lost 3 games not 13. Ok today was as bad as anything I can remember and I have been going for over 50 years !!! But get real we had players no one else wanted, and pay peanuts. And when you pay peanuts you get monk***. Just one question, " has Tudgay got a clause in his contract that says he can't be substituted ? "

We have been rubbish since last Xmas. I thought the return to the Ricoh would stop the rot but clearly it hasn't. Bring back Robins!

It could have been 4-0 if Haynes hadn't made those 2 goal line clearances not bad for a player some say can't defend.

defended goal line better then our goalkeeper!!!
