Surprised Barton is on the bench, honestly didn't think we'd ever see him again, he didn't even have a squad number yesterday.

Looks like SP is trying to send a message to the squad to buck their ideas up. Nothing wrong with that. Of course a win and people will says its a genius move, lose and he'll be getting stick over it but I don't have a problem with it, you can't have a performance like last week and just put the same side out again.

I think sensible changes all round to be honest, nothing knee jerk that I can see. We needed to spread the attacking threat of our wing backs more evenly, Philips will improve that on the right, Haynes has looked tired recently and needs a rest. Thomas was greatly missed last week and none of the others covered themselves in glory. Tudgay was useless and McQuoid looked better (plus has a significantly better goal ratio).

Nothing there I'd disagree with or consider "sending a message" to be honest.

Putting Barton back on the bench is probably the biggest statement he could have made tbh :D
