3-5-2 mr pressley , it will cost you your job . The players look uncomfortable and clueless and we really are in a worrying slump .
You play to your players strengths , not a formation adopted by a decent dutch outfit in brazil .
tough month ahead ....
What is his defence now , what are his excuses

Stubborn ...arrogant ...and ultimately shit

Ive had enough

Pains me to say, but I agree. The dross we've lost against this past month is nothing short of pathetic.

i think I heard MR Fisher say that this system Is embedded right across the club and will remain ,In one of his Interviews this week ,qualified by adding It will remain whoever the manger Is.

I agree, The worrying thing is, it won't change. Quote from Pressley in his news paper article this morning.

Players question the manager and you must have the answers, and consistent answers. Consistency of your methods, consistency of tactical details.

He's right about the consistency thing. The problem is that the wing backs we have are bred as full backs and play as such. The team then is sat far too deep. Try 4-4-2 with O'Brien and Coulibaly as wingers.

The other thing to say is that Fleck is the most overrated player we have.

Agreed about fleck. I would bin both him and Thomas, and bring in 2 brutes. That's what's required in this league.

I agree, consistency is key, but only when something works relatively well.

Tactics might not be perfect but you can't make a silk purse out of a pigs ear can you ? The playing budget has been slashed dramatically to accommodate playing at Northampton and paying court costs and this is what you get ! SISU reduced the club to this very new low, not sure what the answer is. Nouble and Johnson are critical to the team and when not there we are lightweight.

We need to get rid of the 3-5-2 asap!! I actually like that system but we just haven't got the players or intelligence to play it correctly.
Go back to 4-4-2, and how about Couibaly on the right wing and Ryan Haynes on the left wing, both are great at going forward.

tbf you've hated Fleck since the day we signed him. He's been awful since Scunthorpe away though, in fact the whole midfield has. I don't get what people see in O'Brien, his final ball is awful, and Thomas is also very poor. Pressley's recruitment this summer has screwed us, bringing in no central midfielders was absolutely criminal and now I'm not even sure what formation we can play because Fleck and Thomas will get destroyed as a central pairing.

Wilson and Arsenal money could have been used for this years budget but hasn't.
This team is what Sisu wanted and Pressley should have sorted out some guarantees before he signed a 4 year contract. If he didn't he is part of this shambles.

Midfield - More strength and pace and ball winning, less silky skills and 5 yard passes.

if we are going to persist with this formation we need to play wingers as wingbacks instead of using full backs as wingbacks. i think it it is easier to teach an attack minded player how to defend a bit as opposed to teaching a defender how to attack.

Actually I think Pressley should stay seeing as he's managed to convince O'Brien, Jackson, Johnson, Tudgay and Pugh to sacrifice their Championship wages and play for free, I mean he did have nothing to spend in the summer right? That's pretty impressive.

You don't suddenly become a bad manager, this is a time for some continuity & stability as the "revolving door policy" previously adopted by our club is not the answer and has never worked for us in the past.

The budget is governed by FIFA -FFP rules, not how much money the owners have or throw at it!!!!!!!!!!

According to waggot , we have a playing budget of 2.7 million , around the 8th biggest inthe league

I never wish us to lose but given it is a certainty we will lose next week to Bristol I hope they knock 5/6 past us so it will speed up the departure

Try telling that to the city fans that adore him , and there are many
He had the excuse of always playing "away" and "not his team" and "uncertainty" and so on.
The bottom line is, it's his team now and I just cannot see any real prospect of progress or hope for the future. We held on with Thorn too long on a similar basis and look what happened. Action is best taken swiftly and sharply rather than meander and regret later.

He is part of this shambles, that's correct and he's hardly said a word against his employers. Steven Pressley isn't unusual, he's taking care first and foremost his family's needs and the bread needed to feed them. It's dog eat dog out there and he's trying hard to work with academy kids and everyone else's cast offs. I'm not sure about the negative tactics either but if you think those cunts SISU will be employing another manager sometime soon after effectively outlaying that commitment then you're wrong. For what it's worth I'm gobsmacked they gave him a 4 year deal in the current circumstances but I guess all contracts are null and void if we go down the financial tubes again...........

Whats a contract to Sisu? Eh? They could get rid of Pressley at anytime with the usual "see you in court" outcome..

I think fisher controls pressley even down to the formation, but like everyone else says 3 5 2 will be his down fall, and while they keep playing this dire form of football and losing games the Ricoh gate will just keep dropping...

I bet if he went 4-4-2 and got hammered it would still be his fault :pointlaugh:

I would not wish that because if it comes down to a relegation struggle (and it's looking like it will) then goal difference could mean either staying up or going down. We are on -3 right now, worse than many teams below us.
