Chief Commentator!
Pressleys lack of a Plan B is as concerning as Thorns. He gives the impression that hes convinced 352 is the only formation we are able to play and do it well! Far from it IMO.

Very disappointing overall.

First half was dire. Yes the free kick was a good finish but we shouldn't have let them get through as easily as we did.

Too many poor performances and touches from too many players.

Why OBrien went off instead of fleck is beyond me.

Even McQuoid had a game of poor touches today. And link up with Jackson was limited.

Don't think Willis was vocal enough to have the armband and probably too young. Look what it did to Scotf Dann; he was a much better player without it.

If Pressley compliments the players in anyway today then I have serious concerns.

Squad is poor. You don't improve the team with frees. Johnson and nouble would make a difference but very poor otherwise

correct.

Poor squad of loanees and freebies.

No investment in the squad pre season was always going to result in a season long struggle.

All the armchair managers on here will blame formations but as the saying goes, players win games not formations.

Totally agree , like i said if he loses the hardcore like yourself , then hes on his way to a p45

Thinking Crewe would be a tough game because it's Crewe, that my friend is wrong. Don't hide behind 'our away record bollocks', you and several others gave me shit for suggesting the system didn't work. I've been vindicated over the games since MK. I now announce my retirement from this forum, as a wise man once said FUCK YOU ALL UP THE WRONGUN View attachment 3858

Think you will find I have never been in favour of this system.

The argument at the time was that we had just gone on a 7 match unbeaten run and should we suddenly change it.

I've never been a fan of this system unless you have the right players to deploy in it.

You just kept banging on and on and on about it, that;s all. That's why you got the stick.

I'm not hiding behind anything. I thought we might struggle today because of;

1. Our poor away form.
2. The way we set up in a negative fashion.
3. We don't create enough chances
4. We have been on a bad run.

That's all I was saying. I just couldn't see a easy win anywhere, that's all. Just looked a tough game based on the above factors.

Well that scoreline tops off a crap day at work and a crap week in general. Something has to change.

Wow, listen to all the negativity - sorry to stick up for SP but although we've been on a bad run, sacking the manager is hardly a blueprint for long term change - our history shows that more than any other club. To sack SP would be to paper over the cracks - it's SISU who have to go. The club was on the slide before they arrived but this has been hugely accelerated during their lamentable tenure.

Sacking the manager now would be like sacking a building contractor on a project because only the foundations have been built so far - you have to give any manager 3-4 years before you can assess how good they are. If we're mid table league 2 by then, so be it.

1 point in 5 games is certainly relegation form. The last 2 games should have been a guaranteed 6 points, even with a slip up at worst 4 points. To have only got 1 point is simply unacceptable. This has all the hallmarks of the championship relegation season. Let better players go and replaced with kids and a manager who won't change the formation no matter how badly we do.

As mentioned in my other thread, the run after new year's day is 7 wins and 11 draws - over the course of a season that would add up to relegation comfortably.

Its either that or he is totally deluded? - They have rose tinted glasses on all the time and its frustrating to listen to. I remember when we were slipping out of the championship, they were full of beans and praising the team after games.

Fact is the way things are , we could finish october looking at our opposition we have , on a 7 game losing streak in the league ...
Edit ...lost 7 in 8 picking up 1 point in 24

On paper this was one of our easier runs, I can't see us winning again until Colchester/Walsall games which are at the end of November.

I've officially drank enough to hardly remember the game today, but reading the threads, I completely agree, no positives this season. Best we can hope for is a JPT run, but even that is unlikely :(

Agreed. Last 5 league games, should have had 12 points at least with a loss vs PNE, but we have 1

Trouble is, football doesn't work like that.

No reason why we can't beat Bristol City on Saturday.

How many times have we said stuff like 'We should win the next 2 games. They look very winnable?'

Sure, Bristol haven't lost yet and it will be very tough, but if we approach the match in the right way, play the right formation and have the right attitude, then we could win the game. Of course we can.

As I say, football just doesn't work like that. Pre match yesterday we had some predictions on here of a definite win and scorelines of 3 or 4 nil. What we ended up with is only Crewe's 2nd win of the season.

We will really need to raise our game significantly in 6 days time though, that's for sure.

It is a tricky one with Pressley - like the fact that he is developing youth and has them in squad and playing with ffp and our financial situation this is the only way to go imo. I would like to see him try a new formation to be honest or if he insists throw in a few more youth players who appear to be playing it well.

I think we should give him till December/Christmas anyhow to see if he can turn things around. If not then turned around then get rid and get someone in and give them the chance to personally use the transfer window in January.

The bloke next to me was saying how we'd go and beat Brizzle 3 or 4-0. If we played the whole game yesterday like we did from 45-60 minutes we'd have won at a canter and it showed a sign of Pressley being able to give the team a kick up the backside.

But we spent the first half looking disinterested and after the initial flurry in the second we took our feet off the gas. Lack of fitness? Lack of passion? Don't know but we will only have a chance on Saturday if the players turn up motivated to get a result. The formation didn't look so bad when players were actually pressing and making runs down the wing.

I was too pissed off to come on last night. That first half yesterday was up there with Preston at home the other week. Shocking.2nd half improvement but we were playing bottom of the league!!!! Pressley needs to sort this out and quick. Starting with leaving Thomas out! Woeful again and hardly contributed a thing to the midfield.

I think it's the whole outfield at the moment. In Fleck, O'Brien and Thomas we have a midfield whose first inclination seems to be to pass the ball sideways or back.

What on earth is he doing to get himself sent off 5 times?

O'Brien's passing was bizarre at times. He'd have nobody around him and still half heartedly give it away. Really looked like he didn't want to be there.

Another shocking performance, all in all cost me near £200 for the day. The train and ticket only cost £33, the rest was spent on everything else but still it worked out a very expensive day to see a performance like that.

Who else saw that bloke getting a bit carried away in the pub on the corner (can't remember the name of it) then getting kicked out at HT. Chucking his girlfriend he was with all over the place, give the rest of us a bad name.

To be fair, you can't really say it was that expensive for 33 quid can you? Not bad for a day out.

What a total lack of spirit ,not even a Plea or consoling gesture to the Boy when he get's sent off .

I do hope they focus on nurturing him in a Midfield role ,which he feels Is his favoured position

Not at all. £33 is cheap, its everything else which makes it expensive. It didn't help I was a loser in the casino (Derby), should have gone home!
