Anyone got his stats for 2104? I think they provide a good insight into the direction he is taking us.

What's the point of doing a calendar year, when football is statisctically calculated by season?

Why not try tax year or by birthday?

Decent point but it doesn't really hold water. The stats are there for the calendar year and they are awful. The reason the OP has done this is because its a continuous list of games.

It's not been good enough. It's bloody awful to watch and we are losing. Tonight is a big game for SP. He knows it. His comments on Saturday were very telling to me.

I actually dont think tonight or saturday are that big for him (his job) i believe the board will be looking at november and december where the fixtures are such that even with a couple of injuries you would expect points . I think he has until the end of november personally and if we Re still not picking up points he will be sacked

Good points. Where do you stand on him craigSBA?

His comments on Saturday said a lot to me. The two main points of players speaking for the first time in 20 months and games we should be winning bit quoting a million teams we should be beating. Very telling.

I believe he should have been sacked after we gave up the 2 goals against crawley . Im not a SP fan and never really have been . The club needs a manager that fits their needs , a manager that can do well with low budgets and a manager that can get the best from his players .
This is only pressleys 2nd managerial position , we need far more experience in our situation

i do not think steven pressley is that man

I agree with your points about low budgets etc.... but I still think SP is that man, youth development seems to be his modus operandi, both at Falkirk and here. I believe he needs more time and a little more cash to spend to stabilise the team and develop the youth system effectively.

Who would you nominate Craig for the managers job?

And just how many previous managers have we moaned about for not giving our own kids a chance?

We are always crying out for our academy lads to be given a go, but we have had so many managers who have been most reluctant to blood them.

In Pressley we have a manager who has given so many young players a chance here.

I think we need to give him at least until Christmas, unless of course we just keep on losing game after game and are looking like being cut adrift at the bottom.

If we lost another 5 or 6 in a row for instance, I think the pressure on him would be too much and he probably would be sacked.

Let's at least see what happens when we get Reda and Nouble back and also see if we shift formations at all.

Too soon to sack him yet.

Otis youth development in isolation will not bring us success as if we are not moving forward we will become a Crewe just a breeding ground for talent (cyrus & Callum), needs to buy clever also and have a more effective formation. 2 youth/ home grown players in the 13 man squad at Wembley in 1987

Stick with pressley, he did manage to motivate a team at sixfields although hi scoring games. He's bringing the youth along well, bit results are a issue. I'd like to see a change in the tactics an us attacking teams more

Agree with this. I like SP and like his vision, principles etc but if we're any lower in the table than we currently are at Xmas, I think he'll probably have to go.

I like gary johnson , i think although they are struggling this term , his record with low budgets is fantastic , got yeovil promoted on 850k

I agree with this. He would get the right players in on a tight budget. He is proven. It would be shit football but it works. Depends how you see it I guess results or performance. For me it's results. It's a results business.

I remeber the game against yeovil the year they went up and we got beat 3-0 by crewe in the jpt at the Ricoh we all know and then on the Saturday we got beat 1-0 by yeovil in a classic performance. We dominated and yeovil got one through Paddy madden and held on. Done it all year and got promoted with 850k budget roughly half of ours.

I agree.

No it isn't continuous. There was a 3 month gap. The team has changed massively since January.

2014 has been awful, SP is in danger of being sacked if it continues, not sure what influence he has on the playing squad but the Jan -April revolving door with players coming and going, preferring Arsenal youth to Cov, the Fonz - pathetic, Ecclestone (Berni would have been better) Prutton !!! - none of these players were retained more new players in August - its a mess he needs to put his foot down with SISU or his career and our season will be damaged beyond repair

Get one thing into your brains loud and clear Steve Pressley will not be sacked by Waggott or Fisher. He has just signed a 4 year contract which I bet is the longest in this division or the championship for that matter. If he is on just a 1000 a week it would cost £200k to get rid of him, then there's his assistants. Sisu haven't got the money to do that or the will to do it. Think about it how can ceo Steve Waggott justify that to our Joy and keep his job.

and if this form continues until the end of the year and we are in danger of going down?

Im sure the club would rather pay the 200k than be relegated in all fairness , he will be gone by christmas if nothing changes

He will only go if he resigns OR a decent jock job turns up. He will definitely not be sacked by these owners. I don't care if we are miles adrift come Christmas, neither Waggott or Fisher will put their heads on the block for that and I don't think relegation bothers Joy one iota.

I disagree , the only thing we can do is see what happens

4years compensation on a manager an assistant ties the rope pretty tight around their hands. We no what sisu are like when it comes to spending, an how stubborn they are not to spend
They've sacked every manager they've had apart from Robins. They're hardly averse to doing it.

Yes, if this form continues I'll be calling for a change too, if his reluctance to change to a more suitable formation that will hopefully get us a win every other week. An even look like troubling other teams defence.

I am not in the least impressed with Pressley and his post-match comments and excuses are becoming more predictable and pathetic by the week. His tactics and transfer dealings have been poor and our current form and position come as no great surprise to me. He seems to be digging in and becoming more stubborn, rather as Strachan did before we were relegated.

The problem we have is that sacking Pressley will probably achieve very little in the short term. We are stuck with a mediocre squad, desperately short on any sort of quality. Any replacement manager would be just another of the 'usual suspects' as we can hardly attract anyone of top quality in our position. The declining situation is down to the ownership running the club into the ground rather than just us having a stubborn manager who has run out of ideas.

Agree with most of this...

I'd be willing to bet there are performance related clauses in his contract, i.e we can sack you for one years pay off if we are in the relegation zone or something to that effect.
