Burge - 5 Didn't have much to do second half, low rating for the shocker for their second
Willis - 6 Was a bit dodgy first half and could have been at fault for their first but got a lot more solid in the second
Hines - 6 Again a bit ropey first half, seemed to do his job second half and just cleared everything
Johnson - 8 first half was solid and putting his body on the line, thought he was going to get sent off the way he was flying in so much, second half quite solid too
Haynes - 8 Good finish for the goal, great link up play to setup Job's
Fleck - 7 Was a bit worried when I saw him on the left, but seemed to link up well in the second and made some nice runs. Shocking shot from range though
O'Brien - 8 Good finish for the goal and never stopped running, his passion also seemed to rub off onto other players with the never give up attitude
Barton - 7 Still looks lazy, some good passing though
Thomas - 6 Started off shocking, kicking the ball out of play and giving it away. As soon as we had a bit of confidence as a team he was putting in some great tackles
McQuoid - 5 Ran a lot, although it was a good run when he unselfishly passed to Nouble.
Nouble - 9 - Great footwork on the deck, ran at players and always wanted to make something happen. Didn't want to come off either even though he was dead on his feet. Lucky goal but who cares

Finch - NA
Jackson - 7 Ran a lot, showed great vision when he played his part in the second

Not sure why Reda's getting such high marks, gave the way the freekick they scored from, and poor play left the defensive exposed for their second.

For me Reda Johnson was simply man of the match and ohhhhhhhhhh how we've missed his presence. It was like having 4 George Curtis's out there today.........well maybe 1 1/2.

He played well in the second half to make sure that we won. Awful at times in the first.

JOB - 9
Thomas - 6

Nouble - 7

Burge - 5 (one dreadful error, but besides that, I thought he did okay)

Willis - 6 (awful first half and kept getting caught out. Very strong 2nd half effort though)

Johnson - 8 (Excellent. Big, strong, commanding. Everything you want in your centre back. Do feel he is going to get suspended a lot though)

Hines - 5 (shocking first half. Improved slightly after the break, but he looks nervy and always capable of an error)

Haynes - 6 (poor first half, but again was much stronger in the 2nd and there was some excellent link up play from him as the game wore on)

JOB - 8 (Awful first half, but then magnificent in the 2nd. Everything we could have wished for, skill, effort, determination, invention)

Fleck - 6 (poor first. Improved in the 2nd half and he did give us some width, but at times very marginalised in the game)

Thomas - 7 (very poor first half, but rose to the challenge in the 2nd and worked his socks off, linked up play well, chased everything and put in some great tackles too)

Barton - 8.5 (Best player, along with Reda, in the first half and 2nd half he continued that level of performance. Very impressed with him today)

McQuoid- 5 (Did pretty much next to nothing other than run around today. Very disappointed by him and I think we looked much better the moment Jackson came on)

Nouble - 9. (worked his socks off first half and 2nd half he just kept on getting better and better) MOTM for me.

Burge 5- not much to do, should have saved 2nd
Willis 5- had a mare first half, improved 2nd
Hines 6- did ok
Johnson 8- mountain, seems to have his own gravitational field. Everytime the ball is in the box or in the air it's just drawn to his head
Haynes 6.5- poor first half, brilliant second
O'Brien 6.5- same as Haynes, great work rate
Barton 7- touch, ball control and passing was top notch
Thomas 6- mixed bag, made good tackles but dawdles on the ball too much
Fleck 4- poor throughout
Nouble 7- brings another dimension to the attack, was dead near the end
Mcquoid 5- great work rate but lacked quality

Jackson 6- good link up with Haynes for the equaliser

First half was poor but so were Peterborough, we kept ball well in spells and defended well mostly but offered nothing going forward. The first goal Peterborough just got the run of the ball, the ball broke to the midfielder and he slipped in a good pass for the runner. Second goal should have been saved.

We just never had anyone in the box first half, had a few good crossing positions but no one in the box. Second half O'Brien got more into the game and we got more bodies in the box and scored the goals.

I think we still lack someone in attack who can dribble and take players out of the game by beating them. O'Brien done it once today and we scored the first goal from it and Nouble can do it sometimes, last season we had Moussa, Baker, Wilson and Christie making these types of dribbles 3 or 4 times each a match and its a big reason in why we create so many chances last season.

Fleck was the only player I was really disappointed in today, If we go 442 next match I'd drop fleck and play Coulibaly

I'd have to see the individual moments again but I don't think we'd have won today without him

Same here. I couldn't quite work out who of the defenders was at fault for the goals, but I marked him high for the very presence he brought to the team today. A true leader and I think his combatative style rubbed off on all the other players.

Agree with this.

Thomas (who improved 2nd half) and McQouid were shocking 1st half and Josh McQ should be benched for an extended period as he is totally ineffective.

Burge - 5 (More shots on target would have = more goals. I worry most about the GK position atm)
Willis - 7
Hines - 6
Johnson - 9
Haynes - 8 (poor 1st half)
JOB - 9
Thomas - 6
Barton - 7
Fleck - 6
Nouble - 9 (Monster at this level would be worried in Jan if he went back)
McQuoid - 4

They were all apart from Barton shocking in the first half.

Very difficult to do ratings when you've had 2 massively contrasting halves.

It is.

Very much cloudied by that 2nd half effort. I know mine was.

Had it been in reverse with the 2nd half being today's 1st, I am sure I would have marked so much lower.

You can't really make any ratings after a Jekyll and Hyde performance.

I thought Hines looked as impressive as Johnson - Johnson is talismanic and all that but very wild at times. He is a physical presence though.

Nouble really wants to play and really puts himself fully into the game. You would have to say he made the biggest impact.

O Brian picked up in the second half with some great skill and Thomas really put himself about.

Fleck worked hard and Barton at least started to work off the ball.

Haynes goal with his right foot was worth the admission alone.

On a negative if Burge is the answer we are asking the wrong question.

Is Swanson injured? And if so, how long's he out for? Feel he's a good option on the bench.

once the euphoria has died down we need to addess the keeper position, that second was a howler of the highest order. JOB & Willis were awful first half but redeemed themselves in the second half. Connor did get better second half but it was difficult to play worse.

Thomas was excellent in the second half as was o Brian.

Thomas was excellent in the second half as was o Brian.

But it's Thomas! Automatically no good! It's actually nice to see people being objective and not just jumping on the Barton was rubbish bandwagon.

I would agree about the keeper situation though. Haven't seen Burge properly so I can't say, but Allsop really does not fill me with confidence.

P'boro's no 17 played wide left - Joe Newell a first half performance 9/10 second half we had more of the ball but he still managed to cause us problems a great talent

Their big right sided centre back was pretty good on the ball for a big fella

Genuinely LOLed at that.

Missed today thanks to a wedding, seems like I missed a cracker. Shame about Burge to be fair, but all our academy kids can't be awesome.

Time to splash some cash (in the form of wages on a free) in January by the looks of it.

God I hope Nouble has fallen in love with Coventry for some reason and doesn't go back in Jan, but I think we all know that's unlikely.

Burge - 4 - Maybe we're being harsh and that free-kick had huge dip/swerve on it. But it didn't look good.

Willis - 7 - Just looked very solid. Also put in one really good cross in the second half.
Hines - 6 - Yeah, ok. Decent job.
Johnson - 7 - Looked to me like he was to blame for the first goal, and gave away the free-kick for the second. But he made up for that by being so commanding when the ball gets knocked into the box. That header he attacked on the halfway line as the ball dropped out of the clouds was amazing.
Haynes - 7 - Probably a 6/10 performance, but that finish was so good. Great to see a young player confident enough to attempt that first time finish on his wrong foot. Would have been very easy to blast it across with his left.

O'Brien - 8 - Brilliant in the second half. Looks so much more comfortable when we're playing with intensity. Closed down and harried reliably.
Thomas - 7 - Maddison ran the show for them in the first half, but Thomas and Barton shut him out completely in the second. Pleasing to see him throw his weight around a bit as well, with some very strong tackling. We need more of that from him.
Barton - 8 - Good on him. Looked like the only player capable of passing to a team-mate in the first half, and really seemed to be making an effort to impose himself physically. If he can develop that side of him then we've got a really good player.
Fleck - 7 - Strange to see him out wide, but it freed him up a bit. He could move around the pitch, and get involved further forward. Don't know how intentional the second one was, but you can't knock two assists.

McQuoid - 5 - Didn't really do a great deal.
Nouble - 7 - His first touch let him down a fair bit, but when he did get the ball under control some quality generally followed. His dribble for the winner was superb, even if I was screaming at him to pass.

Jackson - 7 - Basically stopped us sitting too deep on the 3-2 by pressing relentlessly from the front.
Finch - N/A - did nothing wrong but wasn't on long.

The big difference between the first and second halves was the energy and intensity. In the first half the pressing seemed to be one player half-heartedly running towards the man on the ball, whereas in the second half it was far more coherent. Not only was the man on the ball under pressure, but his passing options were cut down as well. It also automatically meant we were pushing higher up the pitch and committing more players forward.

Did anyone get a good view of Boro's second goal? Did the ball take a deflection, swerve or was it a definite keepers blunder?
McQuiod seemed to be having a major strop when substituted kicking out at the dugout.
Very poor refereeing particularly in the first half particularly our bookings.

Don't see how you can give MOTM to someone who does something stupid like take his shirt off and get a yellow card. Extremely unprofessional. The last thing CCFC needs is to be giving away needless yellow cards.
