Coventry City Player Contract Dates

Aaron Martin's arrival takes the number of short-term loans to five while 12 players will see their current contracts expire in the summer.

JANUARY 2005
Mohamed Coulibaly
Seb Hines
Aaron Martin
Ryan Allsop
Josh McQuoid
Frank Nouble

SUMMER 2015
Marcus Tudgay
Danny Pugh
Simeon Jackson
Shaun Miller
Andy Webster
John Fleck
Jordan Willis
Jordan Clarke
Adam Barton
James Maddison
George Thomas
Ivor Lawton
Kyle Spence

SUMMER 2016
Danny Swanson
Jim O'Brien
Conor Thomas
Aaron Phillips
Billy Daniels
Jack Finch

SUMMER 2017
Ryan Haynes
Lee Burge

Very worrying....full squad turnover to occur again next Summer?! Jackson, Fleck, Willis and Maddison are key for future success in my opinion but they could probably play in the league above (Maddison in a year or 2 perhaps).

Let's hope contract negotiations will start soon then. Love to get Nouble permanently. Out of the rest I'd like Jackson, Fleck, Maddison, Thomas and Lawton to stay on. Don't know what Spence is like so I couldn't comment.

It's quite common for league one teams to have a big annual squad revamp with high numbers of players leaving/joining.

Yeah, for the teams who have no chance or little ambition of promotion that is certainly true.

But should it be the case for the only FL team in the 10th (ish) largest city in England?

Players like Tudgay and Pugh were only ever stop gaps anyway.

Maddison, G Thomas, Spence, Willis will probably get extended to long term deals. Fleck as well if he can be convinced to sign, Barton will depend on how he does between now and the summer.

Tudgay, Pugh, Webster will probably leave. Jackson and Miller may get a 1 year extension if they perform well but I don't see them being here long term

What was the length of the perm contracts in those clubs? Were they mostly 1 year like City's are, only 2 players got more than 1 season here.

I am sure much will be dependant on the success this season as to whether the majority of the first team players in the squad stay where put.

I see, now changing angle. That wasn't what you said, you implied that high turnover of player only occurred in teams that lacked ambition in the league. Which is not true.11

I hate this about modern football in the lower leagues. Well at least we know Swanson, O'Brien, Thomas, Phillips, Daniels and Finch will all the in the starting XI for the first game next season. Just need another 5 and we can put a team out!

But what your snapshot list shows is that 5 of the 7 in your list have more permanent ins than outs and the other 2 had just suffered relegation the year before so it is a natural thing to try and cut your wage bill. This is why we seem to be lacking in strength in depth, players not being replaced or players not be signed for the positions that are needed. How can this create the stability in the club that others on this forum are saying we are doing?
