Rather than listing players to get of which players do you think are good enough to stay and build a team around

For me it's only

Haynes
Johnson
Obrien
Fleck
Nouble

and the kids.. Finch, Maddison, Phillips etc

Don't rate Nouble myself and Fleck has too many off games for my liking

JOB
Finch
Maddison

Try and maybe sign Martin, Madine and Nouble and send the rest the loans back

Sack the rest of the first team off, Finch and Burge have 12-18 months to show they can be useful to the club or they can leave as well.

Someone on here said that Nouble's on £18k per week at Ipswich. We won't be keeping him unless it's a loan.

Amazing how no one has said any of the Bournemouth loans?

Not so amazing as the three loans are pants.

from what I saw on Sunday, I wouldn't even keep Johnson. He has the turning circle and speed of a Container Ship.

Normally, he does offer us something at the other end though as well. Hasn't he scored a couple this season? One swallow, summer, does not make etc etc!!

What about that Thomas lad in the nippers team? Is he still knocking them in?

maddison
nouble
o brien
johnson

are the only MUST keeps imo

2 defenders, 2 midfielders,1 attacker depending on how you class young james. build around them

i am worried that poor reaction came from nouble though who was subbed for not putting a shift in on sunday :(

Amazing when you look at that only 1 senior player as Haynes,Phillips and Maddison are all still kids really.

The rest can go for me.

Nouble - at this level a top player who bullies defenders. Through the middle he is what we need.

JOB - despite him letting himself down Saturday, one of the few SP signings to have worked

Fleck - skill to take the ball in tight areas and find a decent pass. Not always great when we don't have the ball but we need players like him at the club.

Haynes - one of the better players in the team and plenty of potential

Maddison - could train on into a useful player.

johnson - when he is disciplined a good strong defender at this level.

jackson - impact sub who can change the game when defences tire our version of ole s or little pea from Man U.

willis - will improve and has shown plenty I like in a developing CB, selling him would be a mistake.

there are one or two others like Phillips I would keep around the squad but that's about it.

That leaves us as below:

-------------?GK?-------------
?RB?-Willis-Johnson-Haynes
JOB---?CM?---Fleck--?LW?
-----Nouble--Jackson---

New reserve GK
Webster
Phillips
Thomas
Madine or new ST
New reserve winger
Pugh

by my reckoning that means we need 4 starters and 3 squad players. I would hope the latter could come from youth. But the 4 starters need to be good players with attributes to push us up the league.

Just looking in gat the PFA website at players to fill in the 4 starting gaps I would go for (although loans could be an option IF we sign the right profile of player).

GK: Thomas Kuzack ($$$$ but we need a keeper and he has been at WBA so knows the area) why not for half a season?
RB: Louis Carey (old but sign until end of season liked him when I have seen him live.
CM: let's get off our bums and scout some u18-21 games of PL clubs and loan 2.
LW: as above and send the dross back to Bournemouth to give us the funds and space.

I think you're over egging some of those players.

Comparing Jackson to Ollie Gunnar Solskjaer....really? 2 goals in 15/16 games?

Mr T - Sukka!

Jim O'Brien - Works non stop and is decent going forward.
Ryan Haynes - Solid left foot would keep.
Arron Phillips - Decent tidy player.

The rest are absolute gash and i would get rid of them all. Just ask your self one question are they good enough to challenge for a play off or automatic promotion? The majority answer on them is no.

Not comparing him to saying he his better off the bench and that's the similarity. For me he is more effective when he comes on than starts. The games vs Yeovil at home a Peterborough spring to mind

In defence of Jackson how many chances have this midfield created for him they are more interested in passing it backwards or sideways than into the strikers.

That may well be but I wouldn't be wanting to keep a player to build a team around (as per OP) for the fact he's managed to have an impact in 2 of his 7 sub appearances, and been poor the the majority of his starts, then place him in my mock up starting line up.

Players to keep
Willis, Phillips, Haynes, Maddison (gonna be quality), Thomas, Fleck (gone in January), JOB, Burge (reserve only),

Get Rid
Webster - just terrible
Tudgay - probably the least interested player I've ever seen
Jackson - to higher wage for what he brings
Nouble - poor attitude, shite goal ratio and god awful touch no excuse at this level
Johnson - always injured and I predict he picks up another mysterious one this week
MQuoid - Tryer no doubt just what's the point he's nothing more than average
Allsop - average we need better than that with our defence
Clarke - makes so many basic errors when in possession

Still to early
Madine - not seen enough

Our recruitment record under Waggott and Pressley has been terrible and we can't keep blaming budget every club is in the same boat. The lad from QPR was available and we chose some injury prone muppet from Bornemouth, there are plenty of players out there we just keep getting it wrong. Enough of the bad loans and pay check hunters we need players who want to play and want to work.

None of us know the real world of football transfers but we all know we've been getting it wrong, look at MK dons with Bamford last year and Swindon with there Tottenham link up then look at the shite coming our way.

But mcqoid's managed to score 5 in 15 upfront, miller has scored 2 despite only starting 1 game and Nouble's scored 3 in 7. Jackson's played 40+ times in the top flight here and in Germany. And his main attribute is support to be pace yet everytime he gets put through (e.g v Peterborough, vs crawley, vs Worcester) he gets caught by a big blundering centre back.

And I'd put money on him being on of our highest earners.

Honestly the only players I would be disappointed to lose at the moment from the entire squad are maybe Haynes and Maddison, I'd probably keep likes of Willis, Phillips, Finch and Burge on to see how they progress over the next two years.

I agree. I see all the praise for. Nouble and wonder if we are watching the same game. He cannot trap the ball or hold it up. This is basic stuff.
