Wasps complete 100% purchase of Ricoh (10 Viewers)

It has already been stated in other parts of the media that the loan from CCC remains unchanged other than the 1m off the top. So if ACL stop paying CCC who do you think is as it has not been resecured against anyone else.

As far as I can make out, they have purchased ACL and therefore the debt as well. If that is true the risk to the council is relatively low as a failed WASPS would have to go into administration and unlike us when we went that way they will have an asset to sell. The council still own the freehold also.

I know the fact that WASPS got ACL has pissed off many. I don't like it and most certainly would not have advocated this as the solution. But what I have said in my posts is that it is not the end for CCFC and the RICOH. There is still a very strong business case for the owner of CCFC to buy into the ACL business. It just may be that if the owner is SISU then WASPS may be very reluctant to set up a partnership.

It is one of a diminishing list of ways forward, and I just can not see how CCFC can contemplate building a new stadium.

Not a chance in hell of this happening. Wasps need the profits of CCFC business to pay back the loan. CCFC need to get out and get its own stadium.
Next year 2015 the naming rights to the Ricoh Arena will be either re-negotiated or re-named completely. I think we got £10 million last time and I expect that will be bettered this time. That would go a long way to paying back the loan I would think.

We? I don't think "we" got anything did we? And who gives a flying fuck about the loan, that's Wasps' problem, isn't it?

I'm sure the support of Land Rover has been very important in persuading the council to adopt the strategy they have.

God I am fecking angry about this bloody mess, infact I am sick and tired of it all.

Not the most important point, but I will want me and my late fathers brick we bought when the bloody stadium was built. We should all get our bricks back, and No I don't want it on the fantasy stadium, the whole lot of them can go to hell

Sell the club to wasps?? One shit hedge fund to another shit hedge fund that has no qualms about franchising sports teams.
No fucking thank you.

Agreed, wouldn't put anything past the cu**s. who'd have thought they would have moved us to Northampton? (In the end I never thought we'd play in Cov again)

That said, if the stupid bitc* goes ahead and builds her new stadium, then It's got to be curtains for CCFC hasn't it???? How much to build a new stadium??? On top of the 30/40/50/60 mil debt?????, Also how many do they expect to turn up to service the costs????

It will be the end of CCFC for me. This pantomime is beyond me. I will not follow the Sky Blues away from the city. The club will be dead for me. We could be in the football wilderness for the next 10 years even though I understand the optimism of some of the posts on here.

SISU should sell up. Come on you money men. Do it. I am hoping the Wasps transaction is a way of forcing SISU out. If not, it's going to be just as dirty as it is now. The club is dead without a presence in Coventry.

Do you think the bricks even came into thinking when the council sold the citys football stadium to a London rugby team?

Disgrace to the city

Yep, don't know what the plans for them and the Jimmy Hill statue is. Haven't heard them mentioned once.

Doesn't look like Joy will get her statue now?

Perhaps they will put one up of Ann Lucas and PWKH instead, or rather than trying to get the wrinkled look of Ann's face or the hilarity of trying to tie a balloon to car with PWKH, they could just instead sculpt two piles of shit, as it would be relatively the same.

Even the forum is crap. My favourite post is this: "The negativity is limited to the minority of the football fans who think that the club were entitled to the stadium. Ignore them, the rest of the city is buzzing" I think it's only Lucas and PWKH, Italia, R_B, MMM and a few others on here who are buzzing

The gloating Wasps fans are tossers, Lucas is a tosser, the rest of her Labour councillors are tossers and anyone who goes to support this franchise is a tosser also. The Higgs, I think they were left no choice by the Lucas-led stitch up.

as I posted when the Wasps deal became public knowledge...franchising is already established in Rugby and got ridiculed for it. There only seems a few Coventry City fans that are bothered about it, to be honest.

only CCFC and CRFC for me. I have never been averse to watching football as a neutral, but I will not attend Wasps games at the Ricoh even if I was offered a free ticket.

Unfortunately the days of supporting a team for non superficial reasons are in the past.

Sounds like wasps fans are having a pop at the people who have been defending their honour like knights in shining armour.
What a back stab!

I will confidently predict that this time next year wasps will be playing infront of their usual crowds of 4-6000, and that size crowd will look even more pathetic than the crowds we are playing infront of now. We know what it looks like and what atmosphere a crowd that size in a stadium with 32000 capacity creates, and its embarrassing to say the least.

Obviously the free tickets for the first 4 games things will look great, but just wait until they start charging for them, they will disappear and if we can't half fill a stadium with ticket prices as low as £5, then they have no chance.

One poster on their site says there is great buzz in the city about them coming, but we know its totally the opposite, there is a big anti movement building about this and I pray and hope it all goes tits up for them and they are left with a huge costly white elephant they can't afford to run and they fuck off back to good old cockney land where the fuckers belong

We should all stand together on this and encourage everyone we know to not go to this stadium , it stands for Council arrogance and pettiness and the way they shit on the good people of this fine city .
As for SISU they can go to fucking hell as well, and Fisher the incompetent mummys boy, if it weren't for you we could have got the Ricoh years ago.

god I am mad, but I will await the demise of Wasps, (what sort of name is that for a rugby team) with absolute glee. No doubt there will be cockles and muscles, and pie and mash on sale inside the ground now to cater for these inbreds

The astonishing thing is this sudden perceived huge support for rugby union in Coventry? Why then do the City's own team, who by the way have just won 6 entertaining games on the bounce, struggle to get 1500 fans down to the BPA which has good transport links, is in the heart of the City, has good surrounding pubs, successful history for the club etc etc. If people in Coventry flock to watch Wasps it will show just what the City's folk have become and give total credence to all those who accused the bandwagoners of clogging up the ticket lines for Crewe and Gillingham at home plus the likes of the cup games V Chelsea and at Old Trafford.

We should all go up with hammers and chisels. Selling to a London rugby club is a complete betrayal. Arseholes.

Well I for one wish Wasps all the success, happiness and good fortune we've enjoyed during our time at the Ricoh.

Note on their forum fans are already calling for the seats to be changed to black and gold, which I am sure will happen eventually. Personally wouldn't mind that - I think it would convince many doubters that our future really does lie elsewhere. If only we can convince Fisher that any new home has to be in the city itself for the majority to get onside with the idea.
