Right sort of players (2 Viewers)

If Roy Carroll playing for notts co yesterday less than 24 hours after playing in Romania for Northern Ireland, epitomises signing the right sort of players then does Reda Johnson not playing epitomise the wrong sort?

Is it just money or is Pressley and/or waggott terrible at signing the right sort of player?

Playing in goal is not the same as playing outfield. Especially if it is the type of player that covers a lot of ground and puts a lot of effort in.

Steve Waggots record of signing players is currently reflected in the current Leauge 1 table.

When you let your best players go (Wilson) and dont replace that player with ALL the money you recieved for him then heading to the bottom of the leauge you go.

If CCFC got £3M then they should have brought a £3M striker to replace him.

Its not rocket science!

What decent player would want to come and play for coventry, bottom four league one side with poor crowds, Pressley said the main reason the current loan players signed was because he told them wer'e coming back to the Ricoh and how great the Ricoh was, you could tell yesterday the players hate playing there, no atmosphere it's embarrassing, just like the football, quicker wer'e out of that place the better, it's been a bloody jinx since we've been there

That's not really how it works though is it?

This is where it went all wrong. Fine to sell Wilson, don't think we had much choice. The error was though, that we didn't bring in a quality goalscorer as a replacement.

There was no way we were going to bring in a striker for 3m, that would never make any kind of business sense, but we could have gone for a striker around 1m, with a good pedigree and goalscoring record.

What we have done is gone for the cheapest option possible. Big mistake.

Doesn't work like that and anyway spending large amounts of money we can't afford & haven't got anyway has got us into financial trouble before and is somewhat respinsible for our current situation.

Johnson could have made it back though and took a place on the bench couldn't he?

Carroll was playing until 11 p.m. our time. Reda was playing in Morocco, which is in exactly the same time zone as the UK.

Hi Guys, first post, not here to take the piss! You are right about "right sort of players". Notts were in your position this time last year,in fact we were rock bottom. Watching CCFC yesterday was exactly the same as NCFC last season. Players just going through the motions, doing bugger all! A year ago last week we sacked Kiwomya and got Derry in. His FIRST actions were to weed out the non triers, and got rid. His famous comment was,"I want to get the right sort of players,my type of players, into this club, and PLAY FOR THIS SHIRT" We were rock bottom at Christmas, usually relegation from there, but his "type of player" went on a fantastic run,and The Great Escape was completed. CCFC need to act now, because watching you yesterday, against the weakest side we have put out all season, you are in trouble. I sincerely hope you turn it around and survive.

I don't tend to agree with the bulk of opinion re Yesterday.

I thought we saw plenty of Effort Yesterday, undone with one error while you were on the counter after having very little possession second half.

What we did witness were appalling final balls from the creative section of our midfield ,coupled with appalling finishing ,shots heading to the

corner flag, weak headers etc ,very poor decision making .

CCFC looked like a team riddled with confusion ,players playing out of position ,strange substitutions .

While our players may not be great they should be further up the league than thus ,what we have Is a very confused group from Manager up to

Director level.IMO

Exactly this. You / they ALL have to pull in the same direction, have the same agenda. It only takes 1 or 2 players to upset the dressing room, and by yesterdays standards, half your team didn't look as though they had even met each other before.

What are you on about, the Scottish Mourinho said we dominated you yesterday and deserved win. Our players were terrific and showed a real desire and will to win.

Supposedly
