Does Stephen Pressley get a free ride even if we're relegated? (8 Viewers)

That is my question for the people who want SP to stay?

Does he not take any blame at all?, and it's fist pump "in SP we trust" into League Two?

Enlighten me please, I simply can't fathom why he's not taking any blame?.

He shouldn't be getting a free ride now. Sure he's dealing with financial constraints, but so is almost every manager in charge of a club as well as those who have been in charge of clubs.

Because he has a 4 year contsact and ther's no one else wants the job.

'fraid we're stuck with him ......... and probably well and truly shafted.

aslong as we keep putting in terrific performances I don't mind if we don't have any shots on target in games. In SP we trust

why should he be criticised

the players were terrific
The played in the Coventry city way
We deserved to win
It was all the fault of the ref/ the pitch/ somebody who didn't play today as I don't like them/ Mrs pressley said no last night (delete as appropriate)

time to go

He got lucky last year with Clarke/ Wilson and Moussa - and a better manager I think would have had us in the play offs in spite of the 10 points
This year he is on a level playing field and is being found out

Surely a good manager can get the best out of what they have? Yes he won't win the champions league. Yes we won't win this league but sure as hell better than where we are.

People expect him to be good with infinite money cheats on football manager, I could do that.

Having created less than 10 shots on target from the last 3 matches including two teams in leagues below , i have every confidence we will go to colchester saturday and win :)

I fail to see where SP is getting a "free ride"?

I think some of the tactical decisions he has made are questionable and also the high turnover of players is not good, but that said I do think we have a good squad, players who should really look at one another..

From Nov 17th til 3rd May, SP with a better team won 6 out of 31 League games, the excuses for him to stay are weak at best, that stat doesn't lie.

There would be 30 applicants at least within a day of his sacking.

Like I said Craig, I do think you have to lay a proportion of blame at the Manager's feet, the stats don't lie we are falling like a ton of bricks, that said, I think we have a good enough squad to compete in this division and you have to ask "Why the players are not doing it?"

4 of 17 League games this season, 42 points got Stevenage relegated last season, 47 got Tranmere relegated, Notts County survived with 50, now is the time to either do something, or wait for the inevitable.

It depends if you believe all the rumours about Pressley losing the dressing room I guess.

Craig I think you are mis-understanding what is meant by a free ride.

The OP means that people are (or have been) making excuses for him (ie how bad SISU are), so he is being allowed to get away with the bad results (by the fans).

No i know , i just expressed that wrong , i was trying to show stats and say yes basically he is getting a free ride

He sure is.
Even with the fact SISU wont spend on the squad, we aren't the only league 1 club in that situation, and we have (on paper) a better squad than most.

He should be getting better results with what we have got.

I posted couple of weeks ago that SP is on safe ground with Sisu, he is sounding more like them every post match interview he takes!!!!!! they are one of the same deluded and inept in what they do.. SP will take the money while it's on offer and Sisu will keep paying as the alternative will be far to costly..The club is in a mess not one party takes ownership or responsibility of mistakes made, they just blame others for all the short comings the club finds itself in.. If the club are looking to change then it should be a cull not an individual SP, SW and TF should fall as well, it's to easy to look at one department for clubs failings...

I think you must be on another planet. Take a look at this poll.

A comfortable majority think Pressley should be sacked, and that is in mid-November. It follows that a great majority would hold him to account and want him gone if the team were relegated.

Odd thread with a lot of needless vitriol. Methinks a few are overcompensating for backing Thorn in 2011/12...

On the subject of relegation I just looked at the league 2 table and noticed that Tranmere and Hartlepool are right down the bottom. It could be us if we don't turn things around quickly

I'd rather them look at the opponent's goal and then try to get the ball in it.
